We need a story of Bang and Wolf. Everytime SKT change roster are always top and jungle. The bot lane was a stable, realiable and consistent player that doesnt really stand out of the crowd always there as a strong foundation of the team. Wolf the master of engage and the reliable carry.
This is why SKT is considered the greatest team of all time. It’s like you didn’t listen to what Flowers said about the call lol. He’s 100% right. We’ve all seen Rakan get a 4 man knock up in solo queue or even in competitive play and with no follow up the Rakan is dead. Or Amumu. Or Jarvan. Great initiation is awesome but it doesn’t mean shit. The guy who won that fight was Faker with that shockwave. Huni honestly deserves the most credit because if Janna got her ult off it was a different fight but his flash silence made that all possible.
That was mainly Wolf. Faker is obviously the GOAT of League but give credit where it's due. Channel seems to have a casual fan perspective when it comes to pro league videos
FYI to people who think Wolf doesn't get enough credit, LCK fans and Korean LoL fans call this the "Legendary Rakan Play". And Faker in countless occasions, starting from the post match interview, credited Wolf for this play
I wouldn't say "mainly". Obviously Wolf called the shot + his engage was perfect but if Huni didn't flash silence or if Faker's shockwave was even the tiniest bit late, this could've turned into a disaster. This was an excellent team effort. Though, I won't disagree that this play should've been credited to Wolf. He did call the play and set it up perfectly.

I'm happy that Ambition got this championship but that 2017 worlds finals still hurts to watch as an SKT Fan since 2015, also I still believe they could have won in 2017 if they had bengi on the team, he may not be the best jungler in the world but he was the best jungler SKT ever had.
They saw them already going towards Baron side and assumed that SKT was there to put vision so they pushed the wave. Tremor sense won't help if SKT won't move. When they pushed the wave, they saw a glimpse of Faker and that's when they decided to back off and the rest is history.
But fakers performance against misfits, was arguably the hardest carry performance from a mid at worlds, so not that shockwave was not the last of their magic. also they were decent in season 9.
Faker hard carried the next series also against RNG. That iteration of SKT looks like a wreck at 2017 worlds, but somehow Faker dragged that team to finals. He was at his peak, and it was unfortunate that SKT couldn't cap 2017 with another worlds title.
yep, I actually felt that hes really tired during quarters and semis, I really doubt they can win against ssg as faker was probably tired mentally and physically. if only bang was decent that time
That wont happen. They have internet explorer. Next week they will remind us about stewie2k and C9 again, then olofmeister then some valorant shit, then reword a video "Top 10 XYZ plays of all time/past 5 years/etc". Then they will talk about dota. These guys have become scrubs.
Let's be honest here. SKT T1's 2017 Jackets is the best Jacket to be worn on Worlds Stage. The Red isn't overbearing at all and has the right amount of tone. Plus the simplistic lines across the jacket is awesome.
Captain Flowers is right about that call. We can always see great initiations 5 man CCs but it doesn't matter if you can't take down the whole team. Plus, Faker already recognized that Wolf initiated that team fight. So no reason to be sad.
Every time i watched the Faker shock waves! It always tells me that EVERY THING IS POSSIBLE no matter how hard life is WE CAN STILL WIN AT THE END IF WE CONTINUE TO FIGHT AND SHOW NO DOUBT!
When the comments can't decide who's play it was, that's when you know this is simply sublime teamwork and with just one less perfectly timed ability this would have not shook the world the way it did
Alot agree the crucial part of the combo were wolfs engage and hunis silence knockup combo. Such beautiful setup. It extend the cc long enough that no flash or jannas disengage can go.
People saying Wolf was the real highlight are wrong, it wasn't Wolf or Faker, the real highlight was Huni. Wolf flashing in to knock them up is jus obvious, it's the only thing he can do. But Huni could have lost them that fight if he ruptured or Ulted etc, him flashing in and silencing them all that very second, as fast as he did, was the real highlight. They 100% get away without that silence.
Faker did great, but it shows you how much he overshadows his teammates, like Wolf had that engage. He made the play, Faker followed up sure. But nobody was screaming Wolf.
Faker gave credit to Wolf. But even then, like Flowers said, it was Faker that made their Health bars go Red so it's him who gets the "most" credit. Cause Spica is the prime example of this, there's that 9 man sleep he did with Lillia vs GenG. in Worlds 2020 then like last week FQ vs DIG where Spica landed a 5 man amumu ult but nothing happened.

I remember back then at the computer shop. Three plastic chairs were broken and we got a free pancit canton meal from the comp shop owner becuase of how we celebrated during the fight. Everyone was betting to skt so it was kind of an upset all through out the match seeing skt losing the laning and counterganks until that play.
I bet you unlocked new core memory when that happened
sheeeesh
Pancit Canton, ah yes, Philippines
PH 💪😂
13:40 there you go. Even Faker said that it was Wolf who calls for initiate. All the credit for Wolf, a legendary support.
it was everyone lol, not only wolf, yes wolf was important to it, but so was Faker and the rest
wolf deserves all the credit in the world for skts success.
I searched up the biggest futball league comeback and TH-cam gave me this
You are literally wrong
@@darkhorseash4337 Sure he does, not all of SKT's but specifically this play. Yet, even for this he doesn't deserve all of its success. Huni deserves a lot of the credit because look at how little time he had to flash silence. Like next to none.
I adore watching great Rakan plays and that one had me so excited. Wolf did fantastic that team fight.
he didnt actually react in time to avoid the charm, he was just not in range to be hit
This was old rakan when he could flash r they removed that now looking back holy fuck this champ was insane
@@syferhaloed yeah they removed it and then they add rell's unreactable combo. Braindead company
I still go back to watch that series and team fight every time worlds comes around. Sooo goood.
Seeing this game live is the reason I still watch worlds every year.
So glad Flowers was on this call and that you guys had him on. He's the reigning Play-by-Play caster of the year for a reason. Dude is good. This moment and "Rap God Flowers" casting the base race are just two legendary caster moments. What a play. What a cast. GGWP The Score.
During this game, I watched this live. Probably the best moment of Worlds 2017 and one of the best plays in all of worlds
We need a story of Bang and Wolf. Everytime SKT change roster are always top and jungle. The bot lane was a stable, realiable and consistent player that doesnt really stand out of the crowd always there as a strong foundation of the team. Wolf the master of engage and the reliable carry.
I think Guma and Keira would shit on Bang and Wolf in lane
@@chrissears5482as much as I love bang, I gotta agree. Guma and Ker are a notch above. Top and jungle has always been skts struggle.. I miss marin
@@thomas13james Zeus played insane in worlds tho
@@chrissears5482 Probably, but Wolf is still my GOAT support despite Keria being an absolute monster.
This is why SKT is considered the greatest team of all time. No matter how much of a lead their opponents had, you could never count them out till the nexus was destroyed, and everyone was willing to go for an all-in game defining play with no hesitation. Too bad nowadays that unyielding spirit seems less apparent nowadays.
Did you saw the match vs hle? They sjowed the same spirit
Just like how they stomp edg in second game
And this was a SKT on its way down. Not even peak SKT.
@@esrb123450 HLE never was ahead at any point for it to show. The only game they lost was an utter stomp, the rest of the T1 games in this Worlds were mostly a stomp.
That was the weakest roster they ever had at the time.
I knew that there was going to be a video about this. Gives me chills everytime.
I'm glad that the initiators got recognized for their plays. Wolf's flash CC followed by Huni's flash silence was picture perfect giving time for the rest of SKT to follow up.
"I love it, because it's that big of a moment"
That was the real sentence, every single second of the play , wolfs engage, hunis silence, and fakers shockwave, everything counted, it was the best wombo combo you could imagine
and now there is a new impossible play from league's greatest ever team with ending ruler's golden road. Beautiful
Crazy how the cast made it Fakers highlight when it was Wolfs
Tbh it was the teams highlight ,and as a supp main that plays Rakan
Still think it was a team effort , but faker did say that wolf did make the call so maybe he deserves everything but the cho flash e saved most of that fight
I think it was mostly Huni and Wolf. Without Wolf set up and Huni follow up, the shockwave wouldnt have hit
Ever saw football.. If yes then i dnt need to explain if no then i dnt want to explain. 🙏🏽
cast was bad caster dumb wolf
Loved the breakdown , I hardly ever play League but this was good content for even the most casual player. Nice job !
"FAKERS SHOCKWAVE, WILL FIND THEM ALL"
Instant goosebumps
And moments like these is why esports is beautiful, dramatic and amazing, and what makes millions of us gamers love it so much.
shoutout Oracle's Elixir!
Hey LG
Honestly you can't deny that iboy on Xayah played that to near perfection even if they lost anyways.
5:00 imagine being 0/4 but still have the highest cs
That was mainly Wolf. Faker is obviously the GOAT of League but give credit where it's due. Channel seems to have a casual fan perspective when it comes to pro league videos
Watch the entire video bruh
They have always had a casual perspective on esports
This channel doesnt understand League. He said in the start SKTs best player is their biggest weakness?? Like did u even watch the 2017 Worlds. And he was so behind cause he got camped because SKT can only win if Faker wins
Coming back here after faker's fourth worlds
Still the GOAT, 10 years on
I honestly think the craziest part of that entire team fight was iboys basically frame perfect reaction to ulti that engage from wolf and then dodge everything. Literally insane
I really remembered watching this at first time. If we can rate a league of legends match. This is definetly a 11/10.
Im sorry but 9-0 score is greatest comeback?
@@akinaridate9233 9-0 but with a 10k gold lead and also a skill which counters SKT's engage, Jenna's Ult. All of them on the same page making the wombo combo happened. How is this not the greatest comeback?
@@akinaridate9233 no one in the League history ever came back with that huge gold deficit. League is an esports that didn't prioritize the kill count, it's more on the gold, the plays and trade offs if it is beneficial or not.
@@skdonniee SKT did a comeback from an 11k gold deficit before. RNG also did that with Uzi. I dunno if base races count as comebacks, but if they do, EU would also have their share of comebacks.
who's watching this after the T1 18-0 Split.. Now T1 have 5 players that can carry the game not only Faker
Everybody's plays was so insane to keep EDG cc-chained. Wolf's Entrance, Huni's Silence, Peanut's e+q combo and Faker's Shockwave while they all shower in Bang's Twitch.
Meanwhile, look at iboy’s reaction time to that engage. It was not a clean up quicker simply because he wasn’t caught in the combo thanks to Xayah’s ulti
@@edymiguel4247 props to his reaction time as well.
Man, I miss League in front of a crowd. Makes it so much more hype.
Lol. why would ppl watch boring game. Crowd want kill and ur game dont provide it xD
Funnily enough, SKT made another play against RNG two years later with a "Faker backdoor." It's like SKT always have a weird chance lingering somewhere against LPL teams, and you know what? I love it. I love the fact that SKT always has a chance no matter how behind, and that alone makes SKT games worth watching.
And now we have edg vs rng and skt dwg in semifinals SO HYPED
This play was the play that sent a message all over the world for every league of legends player that if your nexus doesnt fall u have a chance to come back!
back when comebacks are possible... miss old times.
bro faker still make it 2024 game 4 vs blg and 2023 game 2 vs jdg
Man I miss Flowers on this years broadcasts even more
I don't want to see Faker cry again like this - 15:48. That was actually heart-wrenching lol. Let's win against DK and win worlds! Lets go T1!
CaptainFlowers has blessed this league with his passion and ability. My favorite color caster, with Jatt at a close second.
Oh right he's a color caster all i thought he's the play by play
@@skdonniee whats a color caster?
@@alex2005z Probably a hype enducing-type of caster. A play-by-play caster is well, obviously what the name means, breaking down an entire play bit by bit giving an explanation and such.
4 years later, this play still gives me the chills.
The skill name is deserved by rakan since this is the patch he was added that truly was a grand entrance.
Weird saying that it was Faker's Shockwave when it was Wolf's grand entrance lol. Faker's shockwave was the bare minimum thing he could do as an orianna and if he missed that, would've been cringe.
fr, i always felt that wolf's massive engage went a little bit unnoticed
the rakan cho j4 wombo was insane
Exactly
@@aryanghadge5029 The non-casual fans always noticed. Just these silly Faker fangirls overhyping anything he does...

Faker is a crazy good player. Even at 0-4 in the midgame, he is still ahead in CS. This made the shock wave play a success. His damage was not left behind.
I started playing League at season 7. I had no idea whatsoever who the good teams were and who faker is. But this play is what got me so into pro-play and eventually being a fan of SKT.
This whole concept is really cool, breaking down famous plays and What not, but I felt like these two new guys just said things that were obvious and then restating those things again and again
Two new guys lol.
New guy = literally the person who casted that scene lol
dumbest comment I've ever seen.
you might want to take a look at the names again in 1:52 and 4:35
I still remember Zirene's breakdown SKT vs EDG. It was very beautiful~ 😁
credit to iboy tho, he dodges wolf's rakan
Yeah he instantly dodged Wolf's engage and Huni's flash silence with his ult, then he also instantly dodged Faker's shockwave by flashing right after his ult was done. All of this happened in a second. Absolutely insane.
@@po7aris I mean he has an ult that makes him invulnerable if you saw 4 people running at you and don't use that shit you just look dumb, not to mention Ori ult is ridiculously easy to flash out of.
@@CodyBraddock13 isn't that easy, his reaction was amazing, if everybody in EDG reacted the same way they would've flashed away from Rakan, counter engage and fuck SKT
@@CodyBraddock13 but he literally dodged the engage at the perfect moment lol
@@SoraNeet I mean they should have flashed, they knew he what he was about to do the only reasonable explanation I can think of is they might have thought rakans flash was down and Iboy was the only one that respected the potential of it being up.

Honestly this has rejuvenated my will to start playing league again
don't do this to yourself man
@@illustris. I have instantly regretted it now
I just started playing LoL. What's wrong guys? Context please.
I saw this game live! What more interesting fact is they were so calm that game that it gives you an "impending doom" feeling. Calm before the storm feeling.
I'm happy that Ambition got this championship but that 2017 worlds finals still hurts to watch as an SKT Fan since 2015, also I still believe they could have won in 2017 if they had bengi on the team, he may not be the best jungler in the world but he was the best jungler SKT ever had.
Faker never won Worlds without Bengi anyways. Whatever the team had with Bengi in the Jungle position needs to come back
They didn't mention Clearlove's tremor sense is not active and it contributed to this miraculous play.
finally someone who has a clue of how skt won that fight it's the tremor sense
Its more of a individual miracle than a team miracle.
@@minhanhle4027 that's why he's their biggest weakness.. why do you think they always go after him
yep, I actually felt that hes really tired during quarters and semis, I really doubt they can win against ssg as faker was probably tired mentally and physically. if only bang was decent that time
@@janbenedictcruz7334 Bang inted hard at 2017 Finals not even wolf can save him. *Siigh

Nope. you were wrong. That was not the last
Let's be honest here. SKT T1's 2017 Jackets is the best Jacket to be worn on Worlds Stage. The Red isn't overbearing at all and has the right amount of tone. Plus the simplistic lines across the jacket is awesome.
This video actually made me miss PapaSmithy's casting. He just sounds like a wholesome uncle
As a support main, seeing the carry getting all the honors after you initiated a game winning teamfight just saddens me
Sad rakan noise
Captain Flowers is right about that call. We can always see great initiations 5 man CCs but it doesn't matter if you can't take down the whole team.
Plus, Faker already recognized that Wolf initiated that team fight. So no reason to be sad.
of course he initiated it.... that's his job.
Now they have a beast of a lineup
Every time i watched the Faker shock waves! It always tells me that EVERY THING IS POSSIBLE no matter how hard life is WE CAN STILL WIN AT THE END IF WE CONTINUE TO FIGHT AND SHOW NO DOUBT!
When the comments can't decide who's play it was, that's when you know this is simply sublime teamwork and with just one less perfectly timed ability this would have not shook the world the way it did
Even now EDG is still a threat to T1, but somehow T1 managed to beat them in 2nd round robin
This single fight has to be put in history books
we were watching this live on the living room and when the play came in we went nuts lmao
Alot agree the crucial part of the combo were wolfs engage and hunis silence knockup combo. Such beautiful setup. It extend the cc long enough that no flash or jannas disengage can go.
Man, I miss the live crowd this year.
I miss hearing the crowd. Makes me tear up.
Seeing this live rooting for skt to win that game was amazing a few years ago what a time to play league wish the game was still as fun for me
Now I just play dota :/
Chovy is mechanically insane and undeniably a god-tier laner but man he would have never called for a play like that
Ahh the good old days when Rakan's ult didn't have a delay 😌
8:15 err yeah, 10k gold lead not 4.4k gold lead? a winrate with this lead definitely had to be more than 90%
2 Years later and still amazed.. Thing is, you can kill faker 4 times and he still outfarms EVERYONE, literally 0/4 with more farm than the enemy adc
This wombo is just a combination of the whole team doing their part perfectly.
Here's hoping xPeke's backdoor will be included
S7. Man that was rough, faker was carrying so hard that year. I forgot if it's the quarter or semis, but the series against RNG, faker played 5 galio game. That galio was truly the colossus of SKT.
Faker was 0-4 and team was getting smashed but still got more cs than the edg min laner xD. This man farmin
That was his peak at that time

Nobody's gonna talk about how INF did the exact same play (Well more or less) to EDG the following year?
Wolf has stated on stream that he is salty that Faker got all the cred.
Then he mentioned that it was because of Captain Flower's casting but in afterthought agreed that the shockwave was the flashiest

The forgotten "good video" 😂
I swear looking at that game even I was like that is over, the team had 0 kills plus one inhibitor gone with top lane and bot lane losing turrets, even in a none professional games we'd see people surrender. That's was seriously a god level come back.
