How refreshing not to just see another “dream desk setup” that just had every possible Grovemade product they sell.
Don’t get me wrong, Grovemade makes some great products, but I personally can’t justify spending hundreds on products that can be found elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. Is it lesser quality? Maybe, but I’m also more interested in spending my business expenses on camera gear, lighting, education and software that helps improve my business. Not to flex. Appreciate you watching my friend. 🤘🏼

If you're looking for a thick and soft desk pad that is comfortable for elbows / wrists, you may wanna have a look at Fusionstrike Original Limestone Desk Mat. Me and my friends have been using it for 3 years, so far it's been great so we made a whole batch of them. Ship within UK but could sort out international shipment too. The rubber is made from sustainable limestone rock (instead of oil/petrol) which makes it more environmentally friendly than most desk mats out there. It's laminated with super stretch smooth nylon so it's mouse compatible and very gentle to skin.

it's been an obsession for me watching these home office setups, and I recently started to list the items I would need, and in fact, it's now way above my budget, but your video is showing that everything doesn't have to be the highest in the market, and don't have to buy the most expensive things, for example, the monitor stand, I felt it's must to have that grovemade $260 monitor stand, or that Benq monitor light bar, but here you are showing that one can build unique and INSPIRING home office setup without breaking the bank in most fancy things ... thanks man for the humble yet beautiful amazing setup tour

Just came across your channel while looking for inspiration for my own new office. My wife and I just moved into a new home and I’ve been hesitant to commit to one thing or the other. I love your practical and simplified approach. I’ve been watching many videos and many people go ‘all in’ at first. Some even spend exuberant amounts of money on their items. Your video instilled confidence that it’s ok to try a few things first and with the more practical approach, you don’t have to spend a ton of money up front. You don’t feel so committed and you can change things up as you go along. Thank you for the video.
Really glad this video helped! I love a good desk video, but I honestly don't love when people recommend desks that cost thousands. Yes they are beautifully built, function incredible and I'm sure will last years and have high resell value, but at the same time that's not always practical for most people. I'm happy to hear this video sparked some interest and hope you're able to create a space that inspires and motivates you to crush your day to day!

I actually choked when I looked down to like the video and saw you have less than 1k subs. I was expecting somewhere in 100-200k at first but I was pleasantly surprised to see you weren't shilling Grovemade/Ergonofis/Humancentric/Uplift/Fully or whatever other brand fully sponsor all these creator desk setups. This was incredibly well made and I genuinely appreciate seeing alternatives to the BenQ/GroveMade Desk Shelf/Herman Miller desk chair setups that litter TH-cam. Currently rocking a 72x30 super cheap tabletop with the Hilver legs (both from IKEA) and this has been more than enough for me. As a student this combination with a 32 inch monitor and a custom keyboard I built has been more than enough for me and I feel like is more than enough for the overwhelming majority of people consuming content like this.
Love the vibes, love how down to earth you are, and love how you took into consideration an alternative for almost every product in your setup.
I appreciate you taking the time to write such a thoughtful response. Means a lot and drives me to keep creating so next time you come back we’re closer to those 6-figure sub numbers.
Completely agree with you. Trust me, I love those products too and all those brands make some dope shit. But, it’s not realistic to expect those who don’t create content or work from home for a living to shell out thousands for a desk. I’m someone who believes we should all be investing on products and services that provide us a return, wether that’s financially in our businesses or personally in our relationships. A desk is just a desk, no matter how you spin it.
Just make it comfortable, and something that inspires you to create whatever it is your passions are. 🙏🏼 much love

Nice setup, Scott. When I looked up which Logitech speakers you had, I immediately thought of my first Logitech speaker set. It was the Logitech Z-2300 and that was also a 2.1 speaker set. I used it when I still lived with my parents, but when I moved out on my own I couldn't place the speaker set because the room where I have my PC was much too small. And then my father took over that speaker set and I myself have the Logitech z-200 speaker set.
Hi, Scott. I have watched dozens of videos here on TH-cam looking for inspiration and finally came down to your setup is what I liked the most because of your choice of the kitchen block from IKEA. I am giving my office/guest room a makeover to give it an wood/earthy vibes. I just ordered the same countertop from IKEA but I will be doing it with the white Alex drawers instead of black then I will have my white gaming PC setup + other techs.

I’m so tired of watching desk set up videos feature all the same products from the same companies with ridiculous price tag. Who would spend $1500-$2000 up for a damn desk. As beautiful as it looks, those price are scam. I appreciate you choose great looking products and affordable price!
Completely agree with you. Although I love the quality and design of the higher end products out there, I don't think it's that realistic for many people. Personally, I'd rather spend the money on gear and equipment to help my creative business - cameras, lenses, lighting, etc. That's much more worth the investment in my book. Not every “high end” products necessary has best quality. Cheaper products will last long if you take good care of it. My cheap ol $60 white ikea table I bought 15 Yrs ago when I was just an art student still work just fine (but I moved them to my garage now lol). This$300 desk you chose will last 20 yrs + for sure. I used to always put my desk up against the wall, but the ability to simply walk behind my desk and adjust cables, add monitors, etc., is so convenient
I think in a different space I would definitely consider it off the wall! I’m sure it’s super convenient.

This was solid Scott. I’ve been looking to ditch my dual 24s for similar thoughts, now just deciding on what single monitor to go with. Would love the 40” ultrawide LG, but don’t love the price. Lol
What I would give for a quality ultra-wide so I hear you on that! It’s been nice with the one monitor so far, but there are a few instances where the ultra-wide would be ideal. Can’t justify the price on an ISP ultra-wide yet, but maybe soon. 🙏🏼

What about the lights behind the desk and the floor light bar in the corner? They are really important to me since they help eye strain and make the setup more productive.
The lights behind the desk are Phillips Hue lights, and the light in the corner is a Nanlite Pavo Tube 🤝🏼

Yea I’m not a fan of overspending on things I don’t need at the moment. I’d rather allocate that towards gear or investing in my businesses.
As for the “dub” audio, not sure what you mean since it’s just post processing.

Nothing against other creators, personal preference is personal preference, but I appreciate that you didnt go the common route of the standing desk. its nice to have different inspirations out there.
I’ve been offered deals from a lot of desk companies due to the success of this video. Although I know we’d all love a $1500 desk, I don’t feel it’s practical and I wouldn’t feel positive sharing a desk setup that most can’t afford.

My only recommendation would be to have your own prints/images instead of Etsy prints.
I feel that’s a bit subjective, because these inspire me and my history of creative interest. Prints to come another day.
After watching this video I will consider stripping my hybrid setup of work and games for just work. It's nice to have a hybrid setup but sometimes it also becomes laborious to organize all the cables and it's hard to remove everything for cleaning.
I actually really enjoy it. It declutters the entire setup for sure.
Any other recs for organization for your gear compared to the husky?
Also for the laptop, have you tried the laptop boom arm attached to the desk? I find I could save some desk real estate when I use those
I also have a gear closet where I store my larger gear like lights, c-stands, etc. I’m sure there are a ton of other creative ways people are organizing gear. I’ve seen some people use peg boards to create visible charging stations in their space.
I haven’t seen that laptop arm. I wanted something modular so I opted for a piece that could come off the desk easy if I wanted.

Just some simple risers from IKEA. Nothing is mounted to the Alex Drawers. Everything is just resting on top.
Great video and it will probably save me some money on my desk upgrade. The light bar looks really nice for the price. Do you have a webcam with this setup? I have always wondered how you can mount a webcam with the light bar there.

Love this setup! Thankfully it's not another beige/light colored wall with white pc and other items, don't get me wrong those setups are beautiful but i already have black legged table, keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, phone stand, and planning to buy black pc as well.

Would you talk more about the Cal Digit? I've been trying to find a good docking station that charges at least one PC laptop and one MacBooks with enough USB ports for multiple keyboards/mice for multiple users, and USB C ports. Nice desk setup.
The Cal Digital works great for me and has enough ports to accommodate quite a few different extensions. When it comes to different users on the same dock, I'm not sure if this is the best move though.
