My sister-in-law who’s now passed lived in Columbus, Ohio back in the day. Her then husband worked the venues where concerts were held. They went backstage and she had never heard of the band. She had beautiful long red hair to her waist. A guy asked if he could braid her hair. She looked at hubby and he immediately shook his head yes!!! So he braided her hair beautifully. The concert was going to start so she said thanks and by to him. Took her seat out front, and the man who had braided her hair was none other than Bob Segar himself!!!!
Great reaction👍👍 I suggest you get a copy of Live Bullet and listen to the entire show. Seger and his band had something you can’t pick up on in single studio recordings. Don’t get me wrong, they are awesome, each one. But in the live performance you get to hear the band take the crowd on the rollercoaster from hard driving rock to slower ballads. The last couple of songs on the Live Bullet album are epic, the crowd is going absolutely insane.

He had a long break from touring then I was fortunate enough to see him again in 2011, and even though he had no new hits he sold out the day tickets went on sale. Try “Rock and Roll Never Forgets” because Bob proved that statement is accurate by his sold out shows despite his pushing 70.

Yes, excellent album from 1976 recorded in Muscle Shoals. My go-to on that LP is “Main Street”. Bob sings it in such a personal way because he lived it. It has such a haunting quality, I’ve heard it hundreds of times but appreciate it more every time and that’s the mark of an excellent songwriter.
Another great Seger song is "Roll me Away". It's the kind of song you play in the car on a summer day with the windows rolled down. It takes you to a magical carefree place.

It just hit me like a ton of bricks that what you absolutely must hear based on this and other reactions is the Foghat cover of the Chuck Berry song Maybelline from the very first Foghat album. It's got all of this and a little bit more, and the banging piano and the whole energy of it is just balls-to-the-wall intense and it's just good old-fashioned insane rock and roll energy. Plus it's got a great story incorporated as well about a car race out on the highway back in the day. You guys would absolutely love it. I promise I promise I promise. Night Moves was my first and still favorite of his since seeing him perform it when hardly anyone had ever heard of The Silver Bullet Band when they opened for Boston on Boston’s first tour (Boston is still the loudest band I’ve ever heard after literally hundreds of concerts). I saw Bob Seger live at the Montreal Forum in 1980. That was the tour they recorded Nine Tonight. Maybe the best rock concert I ever saw. They did this song and totally rocked the joint down. Incredible live band!

Seriously, to hear absolutely kill it live check out Get Out of Denver live from the Live Bullet album. The tempo of the song is crazy. The crowd is a frenzy when they finish. Amazing!
Billy and Elton did a couple of tours together called Face to Face. Pianos were set up just like in this video. Each did a set of their songs plus a couple of the others and they also did a few songs together.
Another “Fire” song of Seger’s that you need to check out is “The Fire Inside”…. driving beat and meaningful (but sad) lyrics. Other ones that won’t disappoint are “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” (his first hit before the Silver Bullet Band), “Hollywood Nights” and “Night Moves” (the last two were huge hits for him.
He's got the total '50s going on. This is right there with the originals Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley & The Comets, Buddy Holly & the Crickets, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, etc. Now you need Fire Down Below and Hollywood Nights! He is such a showman, he doesn't bring the party, he IS THE PARTY! Old Time Rock & Roll fits in here too, but as a person who bartended back in the day, you get sick of the song pretty quick on the jukebox. Seriously, to hear absolutely kill it live check out Get Out of Denver live from the Live Bullet album. The tempo of the song is crazy. The crowd is a frenzy when they finish. Amazing!

Billy and Elton did a couple of tours together called Face to Face. Pianos were set up just like in this video. Each did a set of their songs plus a couple of the others and they also did a few songs together.

Another “Fire” song of Seger’s that you need to check out is “The Fire Inside”…. driving beat and meaningful (but sad) lyrics. Other ones that won’t disappoint are “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” (his first hit before the Silver Bullet Band), “Hollywood Nights” and “Night Moves” (the last two were huge hits for him.
