Don't be surprised when you see a bunch of Deep Red states trying to either make it functionally impossible for young people to vote (Less voting machines, removing Mail-in and Campus polling places, Stricter ID laws that intentionally exclude College ID as a Valid ID) or just try to outright raise the voting age to 21 in defiance of the 26th Amendment of the US Constitution (Minimum Voting Age must be no higher than 18).
the GOP is terrified of Young Voters being able to overturn their heavily gerrymandered districts by sheer force of numbers, since they absolutely DO show up to vote and they lean heavily towards the left.

We vote. The problem is when you live in what is derogatorily termed "flyover country" in the South and Midwest. You have Republican supermajorities in both state and local elections. Often, for local elections there's only one candidate on the ballot when you go to the polls. It's depressing when you've been born and raised in these areas. It feels like we're 50 or so years behind here culturally. Speaking as someone who is apart of the LGBT community it's very disheartening. Also, Nashville is one of, if not the fastest growing cities in the United States.
I've always said that people are sleeping on traditionally solid red states flipping any day in one upset election. My go-tos were Alaska and Kansas, as they actually have fairly progressive enclaves within the state, and Alaska flipped its one and only House seat to a Democrat, and Kansas handedly voted against an abortion ban.
Texas, Alaska, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Montana, and South Carolina are all trending bluer every day, and if Dems want to secure the future, they should heavily invest in local chapters in these states. Ohio and Iowa are effectively lost causes at this point, and we had a little scare with Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, but they seem to have gotten a single taste of Trumpism and spit it back out after realizing it was a hot turd.
But keep an eye on the states I mentioned, as those are where you're going to see upsets in the next few election cycles.

As Charleston, Columbia, and the Greenville-Spartanburg area become even more concentrated as nobody wants to live in the shithole backwater towns that have been on life support since the 80s, the GOP is going to have to push super hard to keep it so massively gerrymandered. My one fear is that Jim Clyburn dies before we get another blue district, because if we lose the 6th we may not be able to recover optically.

I just really wanna mention - the GOP does stuff like this all the time, they've said they want to do this for a long time, but what makes this truly different is that the mainstream media is widely reporting it. I fully believe that this could've completely gone under people's radars, but for whatever reason the media establishment feels that going over this won't disrupt the status quo for them, which it very well might. That, combined with the complete lack of plausible deniability for the GOP, the lack of manufactured consent for the republican base, and the shining spotlight on 2 charismatic leaders could make this a complete disaster for the GOP.

Jones speaks with a cadence and intonation reminiscent of Martin Luther King, and I don't think that's accidental. He's young and has room to improve his oratory skill further, but he's already top tier in charisma among politicians. Combine that with his MLK-like mannerisms and the street cred and name recognition from this incident, and I will be shocked if he's not running for a national platform in the next couple cycles. He may even try to jump in the presidential primary, but mostly for exposure and not with a real expectation of winning.

The fight for trans rights on the national stage has just begun, and there are already 15 states that are supportive of trans people. Some have even specifically written into law that they are sanctuary states! This is an amazing headstart!
After gay marriage was legalized, support for gay rights jumped 20 points. I don't think we'll have to wait too long to see the same trend with trans folks. Especially since our youngest voters very heavily favor trans inclusive spaces and policies
