The NFL Draft is far from a perfect science. Football is such a system-oriented sport-that even if a team correctly picks the most talented player-it is still entirely possible that they don’t end up with the right coaches to maximize their ability.
There are, however, some draft picks that were so reprehensibly bad that it truly did not matter what team they were selected by.
The kind of picks that had bust written all over them from the jump… So… Let’s take a look back at every NFL team’s WORST draft pick ever-and we offer our apologies in advanced if this triggers any diehard fans out there!

I’ll be honest, Arizona was a dumpster fire when Rosen got there. And then he never really got a much of a chance with any of his other teams. He has to take some blame, but all the blame can’t be on him when he was never put in a position to succeed

Kumerow was definitely a bad pick for Miami at 16th overall as he didn’t even start a game in his 3 seasons as a Dolphin, but it could be argued that Dion Jordan was worse.
At least Kumerow was available to play and many had already considered him an over-drafted player that Miami had reached for when they selected him at 16th overall.
Dion Jordan on the other hand was widely considered as one of the top prospects in the 2013 draft from an athletic stand point, but would become one of the biggest draft busts in Miami Dolphins history.
In the 2013 draft, Miami traded their 1st & 2nd round picks (12th & 42nd overall) to obtain the 3rd overall pick which they used to select the former Oregon Duck.
He was a situational pass rusher in his rookie season as he played in 16 games (with 0 starts) and accumulated 26 tackles and two sacks.
In July of 2014, he was suspended for 4 games due to a PED violation. In September of 2014, he would violate the NFL’s PED policy again which caused the NFL to add 2 more games to his suspension. In the 10 games he played in 2014, started 1 game and had 20 tackles and 1 sack.
He was definitely a disappointment through his 1st 2 seasons (especially when you consider that Miami traded up to 3 to draft him), but it was about to get A LOT worse. On 4/28/15 Jordan violated the NFL’s performance enhancing substance policy for a 3rd time and was suspended for the entire 2015 season. Jordan was conditionally reinstated on 7/29/16, however he would fail to meet those conditions and would not play a down in 2016. The Dolphins released him on 3/31/17 after failing a physical.
In conclusion, Miami traded up to the 3rd overall pick to select a DE who would only start 1 game and play in 26 games total with the team. He only had 46 tackles and 3 sacks in his entire Miami Dolphins tenure and would end up missing almost 2 and 1/2 seasons due to PED related suspensions. Damn.

I've also got a pal who's a Steelers fan, and his guess on his favorite team's Draft Bust was Kordell Stewart. I mean, I don't remember Stewart's time there, but he had some good moments, like leading the Steelers to the 2001 Playoffs.

  • @nuwildcat90

While I argued that John Ross would be a waste, I'd actually argue Freddie Childress was a far worse pick for the Bengals than Ross. While Childress was a 2nd Round pick in 1989 to Ross being a 1st rounder (9th overall) in 2017, Childress was released by the Bengals during the 1989 preseason. Anytime you release a 2nd round pick in the individual's inaugural preseason, you have seriously wasted a pick.
The biggest reason to knock the Bengals drafting Ross is that they drafted him right before Kansas City drafted Pat Mahomes Jr. with the 10th pick.
