    I am not much of a combo player, but man this commander is busted. Played it last week. My deck was 20 ramp, 25 blink/copy/create token effects, 0 card draw, and 1 removal. I resolved its etb once, and then 8+ times the next turn. I literally scooped to my own deck rather than fully resolving all the triggers. I have played against a few decks that I felt were dirty, but this left me feeling unclean down to the soul.
    I can't wait to play it again, but only with a similar salty group. It is definitely not casual-friendly. As a minor upside, everyone at the table gets to see their decks played...

      I have only very recently made my etali deck. It didn’t have many great cards, because i was using basically every red and green card i owned in order to make it useable. The first game i played him in, i used it alongside the rouges passage to instantly kill someone who was getting an awful lot of 4/4 elementals, then someone else drew the literal only “take control of target creature” card in their deck, and proceeded to wipe the floor with my commander.

    I like the idea of building for the flipped side. I built mine for the front side - and let's just say, equipping Blade of Selves onto front Etali while having Mirror Gallery in play was a LOT of fun (nothing like having three Etalis enter the battlefield at once!)

      The blade of selves, combined with a mirror box makes either side absolutely terrifying. Either everyone gets attacked by an 11/11 with deathtouch for players, or you trigger a crap ton of ETBs and steal everyone’s cards.

  • @crazydeadperson
    @crazydeadperson ปีที่แล้ว +12

    One thing to note with the double damage and double strike together they dont need to block 44 dmg they still only need to block 22
    The dmg is only doubled after it is dealt so even a trampler with this effect still has to do 4 dmg to a creature with 4 toughness before trampling over the rest (so the 4 extra dmg from it being doubled is wasted)

    • @MEver316
      @MEver316 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to think about the card interaction for a while here and I obviously wasn't understanding the card.
      So an 11 power creature with trample and the doubling effect is blocked by a creature with 8 toughness. 3 gets through and then that is doubled to 6. Is that right?

    I recently had a game in my Henzie deck where this happened
    Blitz Etali with a Greater Good on my board
    Flip a Young Necromancer. Before playing it, sac Etali to Greater Good to recur him with Young Necromancer
    Flip a Victimize. Sac and recur etali again.
    Flip a Kinzu of the Bleak Coven. Sac and recur etali again.
    Throughout this process I flip an omniscience from one player and a peer into the abyss from another. Table concedes.

    • @kalamander8563
      @kalamander8563 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are wrong. The ability on kediss isn't combat damage, so only the opponent hit by Etali could get the poison counters.. However, it's still a great include , especially once you get double strike or power doubling on Etali. If you get to something absurd like 40+ power, if doesn't matter if they get they counters or not, they'll still be dead.

      @@longdangley hmm I think that's not actually the case though. Kediss states that when a commander deals combat damage to an opponent it deals damage to each other opponent. So if Etali is your commander Etali is the one doing the damage, not Kediss, and Etali does damage to players in the form of poison counters.
      It would only count as commander damage to the first player you attacked though.
