The previous owner was Mike Oliver, who passed away fairly recently. I have had great times in that house during the 90's. The current owner reminds me a lot of Mike. I'm glad to see the house attracts a certain type of person who can appreciate the unique home!
Very true! Thank you so much, Liam! It would be fun to see the other "Skinny Houses" across the country. But this one will always have a special place in our hearts.
The Alameda house is 10' deep for the lower level, and extends to 12' deep on the upper level making it slightly wider. Technically it's a wide, but shallow house. It gets 3-4 parking spaces in front at least.
I've seen much skinnier houses where I live in Japan. I think the skinniest house here is only 6 feet wide! It is because, of course, this country has half the population of America within the land area of California (ie. very crowded).
I was saving the episode as it’s the last of the year and what a cool one it is! Glad the original owner found a way to utilize the space he had, now there is this interesting skinny house. Great people can now stay there and experience this unique place. See how creative you can be with limited space. Great place to end the year! Oh yes, you need to stay there.
I love your odd house content. This is amazing and a great use of lot. And it’s always great that you have interviews to tell the stories of the house. Now I want to stay here.
Just a few suggestions if you haven't done them yet: "The Flintstone House" 20 minutes south of San Francisco. Several Octagon houses in SF. All sort of houses on the Filbert and Greenwich Steps, even the wooden lanes perpendicular to the Filbert Steps. A couple of "Earthquake" houses on the Presidio. There is a lot of history in all of these mentioned homes. Happy Discovery and Exploration!
In Pasadena on Michigan and E Maple there’s another skinny house. A bit wider that this one. It manages to have a garage and driveway with the house cantilevered over it! So yeah, it’s about as wide as a 1&1/2 car garage.
That is absolutely an awesome place, hope you do a video if you stay in it overnight. Love the month of Tuesday too. Thanks for sharing this, have a great weekend.
This house is adorable! I love the color of the bathroom . It is about the same square footage as a single wide mobile home. I could happily live in it.
OMG, I think I've driven by this place many times. I deliver for Amazon and deliver in Long Beach a lot. Yeah I an see missing this place being so thin.
lol. Okay! So Many times You Both have led me to Go Discover Amazing places… However, This One I already knew about and have driven past!… It’s just blocks from a buddies apt in Long Beach. That said, I’ve Never been inside! So Bravo!… Thank You for taking me Inside!… Keep up the Fantastic Work.
Amazing. My daughter and family lived several different places in Long Beach for years. I thought we had walked everywhere and seen everything. Thank for a great video.
Okay... (1) 860 square feet of living space anywhere in LA is practically a McMansion. (2) That is the coolest shower I have ever seen! (3) You two should Definitely book it for a stay. Heck, I'm thinking about it for the next time I'm in LA and everyone I know lives in the Valley, Lol.
I've lived in LB my whole life and when we were kids my dad used to take us to look at the skinny house from outside just for fun! I had forgotten all about this house and I still live in in LB just not close to that area anymore, Now I gotta take my kids cause this just left my brain a long time ago!! Thanks for sharing!😉
This is not the skinniest house in California. There is a house in Alameda, CA. Called the Spite house, it's on Broadway Ave.... I believe it's 8' feet wide. Go check it out!!!!
These explorations you do are great, I recommend on visiting Norco CA, which is like a western town with people riding horses on trails, it was also the site where a chaotic bank robbery and shootout took place called the Norco Shootout of 1980
Great video! I am a native of SoCal and thought I had explored it but you guys keep coming up with things I have not seen. Any chance you will be doing a video on any of the active oil wells within the cities? Please keep exploring!!!
There's one in downtown Huntington Beach but I think the actual structure is 12 ft wide, built about 2010; the inside dimension is about 10 ft across. It was on an odd-sized corner lot so it had to get a building code variance (not enough 'setback' from the property lines), but it also has some efficient use of space inside. Top floor (3rd floor) is a bedroom & half-bath with a balcony. Its on a fairly busy corner so not something I would expect to be used as a full-time residence.
i live 5 minutes away driving 😂 20 minute walk … he’s not lying about the apartments bathroom & kitchens being smaller. I was born & raised out here… my apt I’m in now was built in 1920
I live it philly we still have homes small like this my last house was 12feet wide steps was In the middle had go up n down side ways thy was Steep n I have small feet I'm size 6 woman n still had go down side ways or u slide down u had go thu the back bed room to go to the bathroom few houses still like that here
The previous owner was Mike Oliver, who passed away fairly recently. I have had great times in that house during the 90's. The current owner reminds me a lot of Mike. I'm glad to see the house attracts a certain type of person who can appreciate the unique home!
So great to see you visiting the Skinny House. I live just 4 blocks from this treasure and it’s been a must-see for all my visitors.
The tiny house movement may not be as new as we think. Thanks for another great video!
Very true! Thank you so much, Liam! It would be fun to see the other "Skinny Houses" across the country. But this one will always have a special place in our hearts.

Wait a minute - there is a skinny house in Alameda, CA, on Broadway. Go there.

Yes, I knew this was in Long Beach!!! Super cool when you both find things in Long Beach!!!! 👍🏻😀👍🏾🇵🇭🇺🇲🇨🇦
what a cool house, we need more architecture like this to add housing stock to california. this is one of the most spacious “tiny homes” i’ve seen.
I've seen much skinnier houses where I live in Japan. I think the skinniest house here is only 6 feet wide! It is because, of course, this country has half the population of America within the land area of California (ie. very crowded).
Hey, I have that same sun/moon throw blanket on the back of my couch, very cool! Nice little retro decoration touches. Thanks for the tour!
Me too!
Definitely stay a night here! Show us how the roof top looks at night with stary sky and chill

I love unique homes like this! So cool that it's a historical location and will be protected as such ❤

In Pasadena on Michigan and E Maple there’s another skinny house. A bit wider that this one. It manages to have a garage and driveway with the house cantilevered over it! So yeah, it’s about as wide as a 1&1/2 car garage.

I love your show it's so much fun
So happy when I seen your video pop up ♥️. You two should stay at the Skinny House.
What about the spite house in Alameda California?
I used to live a block away from this famous house.
OMG, I think I've driven by this place many times. I deliver for Amazon and deliver in Long Beach a lot. Yeah I an see missing this place being so thin.
It can be easily missed! Hopefully you'll be able to see it next time you're out. :)
That is so neat. Who knew.
I absolutely love that house❤, i don't need big spaces more coziness and the roof terrace was a great surprise😍, greets from germany 😊

The two of your are awesome ❤
Yes stay in the house
Larry
@ Yea, I forget I’m from Connecticut, it’s all basements
I have a house built in 1926. Not a lot of closet space in my house. People didn't have a lot of space in those days.
Amazing. My daughter and family lived several different places in Long Beach for years. I thought we had walked everywhere and seen everything. Thank for a great video.
We hope you guys get the chance to check it out one day!
Love it my favorite oddity fam nice house for a family 💙♥️🧡

"McMansion" 😂 The Skinny House has so many fun details! And it's probably way more comfortable than the Los Feliz Mansion, haha...
The kitchen isn’t my taste but I do LOVE it… it looks almost like a cartoon kitchen… beautiful home. Absolutely amazing.
4920 Del Rio Road in Sacramento is 8ft wide at one point (12ft at it's widest). Check it out...
Check out the wedge in millport, Scotland, the narrowest in the world
I love it? There's a skinny Victorian in Alameda, CA. I can't remember but I think it's between 7' and 10' wide. I hope it's still there.
A few people have mentioned the one is Alameda! We'll have to check it out!
@OddityOdysseys whoops, I see I put a question mark after "I love it." I love it!!! There, fixed it
Very cool!! Great job guys👍👍👍👍👊👊👊
Thank you so much!
Really cool. Thank you.
Wishing y'all and the kitties happy holidays ❤️
The kitties say hello!

You should absolutely book a stay in the Skinny House, Bethany and Drew! 👍 Your tour revealed that it's a very liveable-appearing space.
We'd love to make it happen! Perhaps a Part 2 will be coming soon :)
So nice to see you guys again. Great house.

Joe Josts, another L.B. icon🍻
Ain’t watched yet but is this house in Oakland?
Edit. There is a few houses in Oakland just as skinny. They always tripped me out lol
I walk past this house often. It’s easy to miss, even on foot!
Great video! I am a native of SoCal and thought I had explored it but you guys keep coming up with things I have not seen. Any chance you will be doing a video on any of the active oil wells within the cities? Please keep exploring!!!
It's funny you should mention the oil wells/rigs - that's actually a topic we've been looking into!
This house is amazing!

How amazing.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm, nice production, live in Orange County and need to drive and see this.
Did the owner read " the narrowest house in the nation", ? Or only in CA ?
Yall should do a video about the 7014 vista del mar house in playa del rey
i live 5 minutes away driving 😂 20 minute walk … he’s not lying about the apartments bathroom & kitchens being smaller. I was born & raised out here… my apt I’m in now was built in 1920
Hey do stay guys!
How did they get the mattresses upstairs?
I appraised this house in 1987. I recall that the width is slightly less than the 10 feet.
