Muslim feeds homeless people food during Ramadan!
The purpose of this video is to give back to the community while spreading the message of Islam to the homeless. Ramadan is the month of giving, to give back and feel for those in need. Islam teaches compassion and mercy to those who have less than you, especially during Ramadan. I wanted to give back to the local community and feed warm meals during Ramadan. Out of respect for the homeless, we did not show the faces of those who did not want to be filmed.
Fun Facts about Ramadan:
-Ramadan is the ninth and holy month of fasting, worship and building a closer connection with God.
-Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset which means no eating, drinking or smoking during this time.
-Fasting is one of 5 pillars in Islam.
- Muslims break their fast by sharing food with family, friends and the community. This is what inspired me to start this experiment in my own community.
- Ramadan lasts 29-30 days depending on the moon sighting of the start date.
-The first day of Ramadan depends on the eye-sighting of the crescent moon.
-Muslims read Quran, make additional prayers and gain spirituality during Ramadan.
-Ramadan is about giving back and helping people, so this video serves as a purpose to enlighten you to give back to your community.
The halal warm sandwiches were donated by World Famous Grill located at 4143 E Florence Ave, Bell, CA 90201.
Each bag contained: 1 warm sandwich, 1 soda can, 1 water bottle, 1 cookie and 1 bag of chips.
