Discord's Forums are Being Invaded by AI!

- Discord's community forums are filled with a variety of people, people who want everything for free, scammers, and people who absolutely despise Discord and think yelling at them about some self-inflicted ban will resolve things.
However, there is a new type of moron joining the fray, AI CHATBOTS! ChatGPT nerds are abusing the big robot (which I love dearly please don't punish me once the robot overlord takes over) to spew out a bunch of word vomit about specific apps.
Apps, I mean apks, android apps. These AI bots are spewing nonsense about video upscaling and cartoon effects all inside of the community platform. Is this all a big scam against Discord users or is the Discord forums a stepping stone for these scammers?

I'm now convinced that Discord not only ignores years-old, highly-upvoted suggestions, they just keep that feedback forum up as a red herring so people have a wall to talk to.

Fun fact: assuming you're being correct, that's most likely illegal and could lead to Discord domain being blacklisted.
Source: IANAL, but I've designed applications sending emails, having too many complaints (that is, people flagging your emails as spam) can kill your Domain / IP reputation.

Discord is more than happy to add a stupid chatbot to their client but won't use the same tech to help automate moderation on their forums. Peak investor-oriented design.

I mean, Discord doesn't read Suggestions, so they are reaching their target audience...
The funny thing is, the feedback forum wouldn't be that bad if they didn't get rid of the volunteer users that was help moderating the site, after they got rid of the (Discord Feedback) server and community along with it then the feedback site became a blackhole of just dead ideas or just spam/scams. If I had to guess they'll just remove or heavily limit the site if it becomes an even bigger issue.

That's like unpacking an installer file or an .exe file. It doesn't tell you much unless you're nerdy enough to read the binary or decompile it's code assuming you have the tools necessary for it.
Or just scan the file with an antivirus.
Discord's forums adds `rel="nofollow noreferrer"` to links, which instructs Google to not have any website linked to influence or be influenced by Discord. Therefore, the bots aren't using this to build SEO, at most, Google is aware of the page, but won't associate any link authority to it.

Sometimes I wonder if Compsci was a good decision. Then I watch videos like this, and just be happy I will definitely have a job undoing all of the crap AI will bring onto the world

@@NefilimPLit does a full on report on all the funny stuff that the malware does. Certainly more advantageous. On top of there being absolutely no risk and being able to choose from several different operating systems and configurations it will also record the link so if anyone else goes to do a report on the link they'll see what happened too. You pretty much just plug in the direct link to the download and do what you need to open the file. It's pretty awesome.

When I got my first phone (Samsung Galaxy S4 or the S8 I don't remember) it had a solitaire game already installed. I never used it, but I was to lazy to delete it. Well I would have ads pop up all the time. Even while I was texting. One day I opened the recent apps tab with an ad and discovered the solitaire game took it upon itself to open while I was texting people and show me an ad. Deleted it immediately.

I also checked on the apk’s and ran them in virustotal to check but it looks like the apk files I downloaded have zero malware detected could they be modifying the android system when you run it in your android device

The only experience I had with APK files is installing Google play on my Amazon OS Tablet... I barely use it since it is so old, so I don't know if it has a malicious thing in it (I doubt it though since there wasn't any suspicious activity on the accounts I put info on there... Google for Google play would have been the biggest and most noticeable one)

Bruh I once had downloaded a virus on my laptop thinking it was a video game beta made my my friend, turns out his account was hacked and this person sent it to me to get my discord account and I didnt realise it until he was on my account sending messsges to my friends WHILE I WAS ALSO ON DISCORD and I saw a dm notification from someone I haven’t spoken to in years. I had the biggest freak out in my life and I was also babysitting my cousin at the time so she didnt go to sleep at the time she was supposed to. Thankfully I was able to boot the hacker off my account and save it. I even sent a supoort message to discord to cover my ass cuz ain’t no way I was getting banned after I regained access to my account and undid whatever he did (except for one of my friends losing his account, I feel bad)

Though "viruses" for android practically don't exist, you either just get spammed with ads and have to uninstall the app, or you gave it a shitload of premissions you shouldn't have and it stole your data.

Not that it's needed, because viruses have the same issues as antivirus programs do.

I know, i am a little late, but this SEO stuff they are doing is very dumb. They are shooting themselfes in the foot by spamming the link. Google (Bing, Yahoo,...) measures the growth of the backlinks. If u r suddenly growing google believes u either spammed or bought backlinks and penalizes you. It only gives an edge in. comparison to other malicious sites. But will barely outrank serious sites.

I downloaded an adblocker on google play and every 5 ish minutes id get an add on my phone no matter where i was, also it made you set it as an administrative app so you needed to go to settings and turn that off to uninstall it
It also failed to render you unable to do what you did to remove it, you were one lucky punk...
