All good stuff. Cheers. My favourite tip with camp oven cooking is to test the ovan temperature by flicking a little water on it. If it runs down the side it is too cold. A nice slow sizzle all good at abou t 110 deg. If it boils away with a phizzt sound then about 500 deg and you will end up with lump of charcole. I often travel with a water pistol or spray bottle.
If your looking for fireproof gloves Harry try out some kevlar pottery gloves. I used to use them pulling out molten pottery out of a kiln and thay are just great. A quick google just showed up a a pair at around 60 bucks. Also ....... your Chips in oil trick has been a lifechanger so thanks for that ..... works everytime. Dont recomend it for french fries cut with a mondoline though. I think the potato takes up too much of the oil and they turn out a bit soggy.
Harry, I understand. I’ve lost count of the number I’ve used over the last 40 years. There’s no real solution if you want to pick up burning wood. When you switch to a new pair try cutting the top off. i.e. the part that covers your wrist and forearm off the old glove and use it like a double layer for a while when you switch. BOC sell welding gloves with Kevlar stitching which helps to extend their life a bit. The guys at work (truck body building) go through them faster than you do but that’s actually welding. You might find that taking some fire tongs will help to extend their life. I mean they’re all made of leather so in fact you are still burning skin and it’s not fireproof. Just thicker than yours. Only other alternative is to find some made from asbestos - but that creates another problem.............
Loving the content mate! Keep up the good work with the recipe's, always a good bit of inspiration to avoid using the kitchen and light up the pit in the backyard. Give a chicken and mushroom curry pie a try, turns out amazing!
You were spot on Harry - cooked it tonight and the chicken was delicious and the veggies too. It too me 3 hours to cook though - not enough heat and finished it over the coals. Thanks. Love your work.
You could try firefighter gloves. They're fire resistant and heavy duty but I have no idea whether they'll be any more durable than welding gloves when it comes to using them like you do. Even firemen aren't grabbing handfulls of burning wood as much as you.
Gloves: Have a look at BBQ Spit Rotisseries Flaming Coals Heat Proof Gloves or the Campfire Gloves, I've had mine for a couple of years and they are still as good as new
Hey, have you tried "Kiln" gloves. Used for unloading up to 800 deg pottery from kilns. they come in woven kevlar rather than leather. I havent tried them, just a thought.
@@firetofork Think it would be Fahrenheit, seen them on US site "clay-planet.com". Seen some at 1400 F as well. A bit of a Google search should get you some results.
Hey mate top video. I have to get myself a Camp Braai before we are allowed to camp again. Some great one liners in there. There will be lots of uses for the useful comment.👍
Hey mate great video. Not sure how much these are but these are sick welding gloves. Im a boiley and this is favourite pair so far. Edit: forgot to mention what gloves they were lol black stallion GS1321-BG
Wow the mic did well in that strong wind. It's killing me to look at the gorgeous weather and not be able to head north. The chicken looked amazing and it is almost dinner time...bugger I'm hungry.
Fantastic video pal I’m stealing the Ann frank reference I laughed wile drinking a tinny now it’s everywhere lol What is that in the left side of you’re vehicle please it looks like a soda stream and thank you for keeping us entertained 👌
Steiner 21923-L Welding Gloves are good with heat! They will last but they ain't super comfortable! But saying that your not wearing them to weld with but mainly to handle hot things for short time
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 Good video and great satirical comments, had me laughing. As a wild Game cook here in Canada, I was wondering if you ever use sage on your Birds or chilli pepper with your flower?
Dammit Harry! I just finished eating before watching this, and now I'm hungry again! Bugger! lol! seriously, looks delicious, gotta give it a try! Oh! the Braai says $149, what is that in US dollars, and any idea on shipping?
Damn it .. now i need a soda stream , for welding gloves check miller welding ..top quality kevlar stitched & have saved my hands a few times .. but not sure if they make gauntlets
For gloves you could try Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Extra Long Suede Grill Gloves. They are on amazon for twenty dollars (us). Good quality they work real nice. Great vid keep 'em coming.
Fire gloves? -- Use "fire fighter gloves". Highly insulating, cut resistant, and dont get hot inside, when wet. I use that stuff here in Germany, so I can not give you any recommendations on brands.
Great video but there was about 50 ways to not plop the sloppy bird on the tailgate first lol. I was screaming no inside my head. I would have to be forced at gunpoint before I would make that mess to have to clean up and I am pretty far from a neat freak.
@@firetofork I thought so but I was secretly hoping you'd meticulously hand polished the old one. I came close to reaching that level being stuck at home for so long.
Wow - looked so delicious. Awesome cooking Harry. I can’t recommend a really good welding glove, but I can recommend a bit of kit called the TIG finger. The large size fits over two glove fingers. They are designed for TIG welding which an extremely hot process. You can get them from weldmongerstore.com/collections/tig-fingers. Cheers from Melbourne. Regards, Jeff. 👍😀🍺

You can get great big long gloves that almost reach your shoulder. Blue healer I think is the brand. Cheers mate 👍
Another great video Harry. Keep it up mate.
Big red fire gloves the best
Snow and or sand pegs. Whirly tirhly pegs that you screw down won't let you down with the awning.
Almost thought you had a new rig. Brick is shining a bit.
Can you flavour the buttermilk with a bit of garlic and or herbs?
Weldclass are pretty good gloves well for welding anyway seem to last not overly priced either
This week on Fire to Fork or Serial Killer: Who said "I want to book a room with this skin"?...jokes aside, amazing content man.
Big red by elliot are the best welding gloves out there
For the gloves, go to a saddlery and get them to sew some thick leather off cuts across the palms
Nice one man! Nat sent me 😉
Where can someone get a knife like the one you lost Harry I love it
Link in the description mate 👍
Looks great, I'm going to get a camp oven but can't decided between cast iron and spun steel, would appreciate your opinion
Spun Steel. I'm doing a video very soon
