As long as Hot Toys have been making Marvel figures, they definitely should've nailed every aspect of this figure! Maybe they rushed it to fast for D23 which is why it has some issues. I'll definitely be waiting for the regular version next year! Great review as usual though!
The neck on this figure is wayyy too long. Considering how muscular Cap is, his neck looks huge. Especially when the collar, that's supposed to fully cover his neck, barely even covers half
Gonna be honest this is just unacceptable this is his last appearance in film this is his premier suit and this is what we got ughh i dont like the seperation of suit at the chest at all the shoulders are a step back from concept cap the waxy feel of the suit scares me longterm 🤦🏼♂️ just a hunch but i think if you have the civil war version better hold onto it cuz its the best movie one to me and its gonna be sought after it has some issues but its still nice , hot toys please fix this figure!!! If it looks like this next year im not buying and one more thing if u think this figure looks great go back and watch the scene at the end when cap is on the time macine that suit is nothing like this
Do you think those problems will be fixed? because if you look at the one on display the broken shield seems to be broken the right direction and the buckles look bigger
@wayne finch Yeah when I think of Captain America I think red, white, and blue. Black and white just doesn't do it for me. If they ever remade a version with the proper colors I'd get it day 1 though.
When you look at the actual suits from the movie in terms of construction the Endgame suit shouldn't be that drastically different than the Infinity War suit. The chest piece on that is rubberized too since it has the exposed scale mail underneath they just needed to mold new fully exposed scales for this chest. They just got lazy and decided to mold is as one piece instead of several. And the chest piece is the core of all the problems I have with this figure. I assume the newly developed chest piece is why they couldn't use the old suit back section that they had for Infinity War which is why his traps are so flat. The fact that the chest is one big protruding piece is why the proportions look so wonky with the body looking so huge and wide compared to the head
I think if the scale male had the shine and reflective look it would look much better. The solid blue really kills the effect and look of the chest. But that's just me
Knowing Hot Toys they’ll release a battle damaged version where they fix all the issues and they’ll leave the regular version as is like the d23. This makes me want to pick up another concept. Sold him for IW

im really lost on what i want to do here, i love the Endgame Cap and i feel like its the definitive costume, but the figure sucks, the Concept Cap is definitely the definitive cap, but it didnt appear in a movie! so i pretty much automatically disqualify from my options. I think this figure is just too problem ridden for Hot Toys to fix it completely, theyll probably fix the shield but thats all i can see them caring to do, but we'll just have to wait for the final product pictures
Thank u for pointing out value as IMO it helps excited fans take foot off the gas. These figs are vinyl/plastic and DO age, even with best care. Not impressed with switch to coated canvas crinkly material HT has switched to - it FEELS like a plastic shower curtain to me, and it's NOT screen accurate. Cap's uniform is smooth cloth with inset armor; the chest armor wasn't a flap it's stitched down; and there's blue cloth under the star in the screen uniform. Some of this stuff bugs me more than others but overall IMO the IW and EG figs are a ratchet down in quality from CW - plastic shields too. EG Black Widow ends up with plastic hair - plastic everywhere for more $$$$$$!!!
I like the end game Capt, but when you come right down to it, it looks like it was rushed. He should look like he has taken a beating. The other 2 Capts are really much better quality...
Going through the sideshow pictures. Caps belt has to look similar to infinity war. In the concept his chest peace looks shinier and definitely the whole figure is weathered. I hope hot toys gives use diecast shields because this is a huge downgrade over the years since the first avenger cap & avengers 2012 cap with plastic shields. The metal straps are definitely tiny compared to any other cap figure. Hot toys did a 80% job to hurry this figure out for D23.
Again, hope the D23 is still a WIP figure and just launched it to calm the community in a way, but he does need a couple twitches here and there, have him PO for next year.

The strap and buckle issue is annoying since they've done it right before. I hope they fix the shield for the regular Endgame version. I still don't like the nose and mouth on IW Cap especially comparing it to the other ones. I'll probably still get the Endgame one hoping they fix some of the issues or at least the shield, but even if not I think I'll still get it. I have the Age of Ultron Cap and love the magnetic shield and the magnetic hand. I wish they would go back to the magnetic shield function!
IMO the older MCU figs were made better and a better value - it's like there was a Golden Age for HT's and then shipping costs shot up and companies raised prices and u get less - except for anomalies like Dr. Strange, maybe, or the diecast IMs. Look at the Spidey they put out that u can't even pose without damaging costume. BP's lighted UV stand made of styro. The soft sculpt on IW Cap. Just glad I got Hela before she sold out, and even then she didn't come with an unhelmeted sculpt!
Also the "A" on the forehead is not silver in Endgame, but a much more subtle, almost the same with the rest of the helmet, color. I don't recall if you mention it at the video but its one of the biggest failures of the figure along with the proportions.
I don't know anything about hot toy ,first saw them in your channel so I don't if this figure is deferent from the last video about the D23 Exclusive because the tune has changed I respect you and your channel to give you the benefit of doubt
Everyone was always moaning about Caps chest on previous figures being too small, now too big?? The buckles on his shoulders are awful though and his head is too small because it's a reuse helmeted headsculpt from previous Caps who are much much smaller 👀 And this is the clean version, he wasn't dirty throughout the whole film, why keep complaining about him not being battle damaged when this is the clean version? They added a clean iron man gauntlet for the regular mark 85, always be happy when Hot Toys add extra stuff because accersories are getting less and less.

If you take your finger and press down lightly on either of the traps, you’ll feel nothing but air. Luckily, the material pops right back up so it’s not going to do any “damage”.

Basically how one of the most unnatural Hot Toys figure (D23) became almost the most realistic Hot Toys figure (New version).
