Tomtoc 7L Crossbody Sling: The Best Budget Sling for your iPad and EDC

- Ever since I got myself a 2020 iPad Air (pre-M1), I've been searching for the best bag or sling that can accommodate my EDC, that would also allow me to pack a water bottle, an umbrella, a powerbank. And at the same time, free up my pockets from the wallet and phone combo. Sometimes, you just want to give your back a rest and not carry your backpack all the time.
I was really happy when I finally saw Tomtoc being sold at Travel Club here in the Philippines. The Powerplant branch had the Khaki Explorer Crossbody Sling, but I was patient enough to find the black Tomtoc 7L that I wanted and I bought this from the Megamall branch for only P3,298 pesos (PHP). On Amazon, it's 50 dollars and 99 cents. Very accessible price for this kind of bag.

Prob with this bag is the rubberize part its easy to get scratch
Agree! that's one of the downsides to being a budget sling. You don't know how long the materials would last. Maybe they just used a plasticky coating to give it that texture. But it still looks good after a year of regular use!

Hi Shane Bellare! Am considering Tomtoc sling bag, how does your bag looks like now? I think the front shiny one used at the front looks like those rubbery material used in drybags that tends to crack at stress and wear points. How about yours?

Hey thank you for watching! I try as much as possible to make sure the bag doesn't hit any surface that can cause the material to crack.
I think the heaviest thing that you can carry here is a full water bottle while you have an ipad inside. So what I do to make it lighter (lessen the stress for the bag) while it's on my body the whole day is that I drink every now and then until the bottle is empty. That way, it lessens the load.
The material is not Cordura, so only time will tell how well this recycled fabric will hold up. Maybe I can do a "6 months use video"?

Considering that PH still doesn't have official distributors of AER and Alpaka. And Bellroy's slings I think don't have the protection I need for the iPad Air, even the 9L version.
How long is the padded part of the shoulder strap? Looks way too long.
it's pretty long but can also be shortened if you want the bag to be near your chest. thank you for watching!

Thank you for your comment! But when I bought this at travel club last year, the 7L was for the iPad , while the 9L was for MacBook airs. Maybe they changed the sizing recently?
The same 7L sling for 11 inch iPads was featured on other channels like The Perfect Bag , Alpha Artisan and Marlon King :)
