I love your video but i didnt understand about the painting. This is my first time working with wood or pallets (even building something). You video made me want to build one. Would you explain about the painting because i want mine painted the way you have it in the video, kind of fading in color.
Is this okay to do to my concrete block foundation to my house? I have a brick house with a walk-out basement. Some smaller pallet planters might look nice
How long will this last. The wood is in direct contact with the wet soil, so will the wood not deterioate quickly? most pallets I find are made from cheap soft wood like fir trees that does not last long when wet. Is there a way to find out what wood the pallet is made from and would it make sense to line the inside of the planter boxes with some (recycled?) plastic sheets or trashbags? I guess that is why others use landscape fabric?
I wanted to hate you because of your beautiful, beautiful arms but your video was just too informative and completely devoid of the directionless yapping and shaky camera work prevalent on TH-cam. Kudos!
😆 so this tutorial is for all those people who are attaching it to an open concrete block you can reach into not an actual brick "wall". Absolutely no help in researching how to attach anything to a brick wall. Great tutorial if you're choosing to attach anything to a concrete block though.
Hi. Sorry for the delay! You can achieve the same sturdy attachment by using a masonry/concrete drill bit at a high torc and drilling a hole in the solid wall. You'll need an electric drill (more power) for this and it wouldn't hurt to squeeze some silicone into the hole before you use a Concrete screw/bolt to attach the pallet.
Ok, now I know how it's done thanks to David's easy to understand presentation.
Love using what you already have and finding
Great idea!! Love it. Was a bit distracted by the biceps but I managed to get some really good diy ideas! Thanks.
I did it today, I used concrete screws to hold up the pallets! it looks gorgeous

Does the soil not fall though the plank in the bottom or water rot the wood?
