  • What is it like to compete at Crufts, the largest dog show in the world? Follow me through my day from a snowy trip to the NEC to being in the big arena in front of the TV cameras, explaining what is involved and how it all works as I go along.

Incredible achievement and people will not realise the time and effort you've put in to get there

Thank you! It does take a lot of time and effort, yes. Getting your dog to stand still and trot round is relatively easy. It is all the small details that make a champion, which is what takes the time, effort and skill.

Congratulations can you tell me how much grooming before shows and in general this breed needs? I show German Shorthaired Pointers and there is no Large Munsterlanders in my state however love the look of the breed, however I am used to a wash and wear dog so not sure I would have a long amount of time to prep a longer coated breed.

Hi. Really glad you enjoyed the video. A full groom once a week is needed. Beyond that it just depends what you do with them. So if they are running through undergrowth you will find seed heads and burrs get caught in their coat, so you would need to get this out when you get home. As long as you do that, their coats don’t get matted and Munsters seem to be good at looking after their own coat too!
