First time watching the sopranos (reaction)
The ending of this episode is when I knew this show is top tier
I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but Johnny Saccrimoni (Sack), the New York boss, was the character that inspired Juan Bolsa in Breaking Bad. Juan Bolsa literally translates to John Bag (Sack).
Lol I dont think theres a bigger fan of The Sopranos than Vince Gilligan. There are countless parallels and even straight up mirrored events from The Sopranos on Breaking Bad and BCS
@@tidepride86 i talk about it in the next reaction or the one after even the cinematography in BCS and BB is heavily inspired from this
@@eliemoses oh awesome! Looking forward to it. The Legend of Tennessee Multisanti has some great shots in it. Episode 8 or 9.
I got BB playing in the background now while I'm cleaning up around the house. Great show
Maybe I'm nitpicky, but Johnny Sack is an underboss. But since Jersey is less powerful than New York, that still kinda makes him Tony's equal.
Mad Men, Breaking Bad, BCS, Boardwalk Empire, etc. are shows with very obvious influence from this series. There wasn’t even really an “anti-hero” protagonist to serialized dramas before The Sopranos. Its impact on the artistry of TV goes pretty deep. Yet, it still feels uniquely its own thing.
I really like these stretch of episodes 4-8. There’s just a lot of good character and world building. This ep is one of my favorites in general.
That ending is what got me hooked on the show. Before that I wasn't really feeling it, but then that twist at the end happened and I was ALL IN.
Tony's immediate family and crime family are so interlinked that he can take Dr. Melfi's family tips and apply them to his criminal moves. His handling of Uncle Junior is one of the best moments in season 1.
Lol Tony giving Jun the "illusion of control"....just like Melfi inspired him to do.
love it man it only gets better
Kind of forgot how violent this show was, don't think we've had an episode without a murder or beating, lol ... Was pretty wild for TV back in the early 2000's
