    They change the meta way to fast, especially how expensive it is to change your build.

    The sad thing is they screw up pve to change a meta in pvp to compensate for stam increase they should lower the stam usage from attack from pve

    Heavy builds shouldn't rely on dodging. I think it will impact how people play because they rely so much on dodging but once they learn, i think it will be fine

    Yes, I agree with nerf the damage for heavy. However, if they just nurf the damage, ppl will not run heavy anymore which is also not healthy. I think a more proper approach is to make heavy more tanky, but deal significantly less damage. For example, -30% basic damage/crit damage/outgoing heals/dot damage, but at the same time +15% mitigation to all incoming damage. This will make sure heavy is still very strong in large scale pvp as a front role, but weak in terms of 1v1 etc. However the problem here is that, with more damage mitigation it will make pve tanking too easy.

      I also think that damage mitigation should be even higher for ranged, given that there will be no chance to get away. Just my opinion. If they can only dodge twice, there needs to be a balance so they aren’t sitting ducks.

    do u remember when heavy dealt no damage and any one on heavy was just dead weight? and the only build u could use on heavy was sns hamer? i think its a good balance, should be blocking more on heavy than dodging

    should not change the dodge, but instead add -20% (base) dmg for heavy load.

    If Dmg was reduced that would give more headaches for tankin pve especially with the spaghetti code and maintaining threat this was the lazy way how to deal with a problem.

    So the reason I do not think this matters alot is you can take hearty and dogde once wait for 1 stam regen dodge a 2nd time and dodge a third I think in reality you just cannot dodge twice fast.

    the real issue is still, and has always been the lunge distance on melee tracking. heavies literally don't need to dodge they just need to light attack to keep up with a light player. The tracking pulls you to the player lol.

    Sincerely hoping they can also reduce stam dmg taken for blocking with towers to compensate actual tanks for this.

    55 stam dodge for heavy isnt quite as "bad" impactful as it sounds.. i think heavy users will still use heavy. in heavy u very rarely double dodge in quick succession, like u do in light f.e. so a heavy user (with hearty) will only need to have a mini slit sec between dodging a second time, to not stam out(greybar) ..so i dont think it really even changes the style that much, of how a heavy playa plays, (be it pvp or pve) plus, with all the changes and buffs to blocking, blocking is very often the better choice, over dodging.. imo. but theoretically the best way for AGS NW to balance this heavy issue, is just to make heavy and armour classes like they say in the tooltip. make the Heavy actually have 30% less damage etc.. the only reason we have this heavy meta now is cuz, the S3 and4 changes plus extra/more attribute points, gave heavy armour only a very marginal less amount of damage. Back in the day the damage difference was very notable, now its very minor. so of course folks choose to go for a wee lil less damage, but way more damage mitigation and other bonuses.. specially melle, considering how ruff its been for lite melle since season3..

      in PvP your right you wont double dodge BUT in PvE raids there are some bosses that launch multi attacks that need to be dodged or you run the risk of dying and when the tank dies that can mean a wipe and people don't like that but will have to see how AGS screws up again; they are making changes WAY to fast; me i think this is test ideas for their Lord of The Rings game. I am starting to think they are giving up on New World and now are hoping their LoTR game will be better.

    we used to run heavy chest and the rest medium for bow/ spear bow/hatchet

    I agree, they should have reduced the damage and added in some inherent threat generation into heavy so that it doesn't affect PvE

    Heavy did 100% need a nerf so lets see how this plays out. the other option would be reduce the dmg output by 10-20% but glad somethign happening to heavy since almost everyone wearing it even seeing OPR heavy archers now too :D

    As a heavy abuser, this balance isn't enough. they need to make it -10% stam regen. Make heavy BE heavy. People calling this a nerf are the ones that don't realize this is a skill check...and most are gonna be failing it because they don't know how to stamina manage

      If they reduced damage, they'd be nerfing PvE tanks and that isn't fair to them. Heavy is only imbalanced in PvP...this balance doesn't hurt PvE tanks as much. Also, any word on them switching the perks of Frigid Dawn?

    People is using heavy because med dodge was nerfed and ranged damage is crazy high so as a bruiser you can not close distance anymore like brfore. Play opr and it looks like cod with magic and bows. Heavy is made to fight on control points and peel the team in a not so big zone because the dodge covers little distance and you can not chase or burst down healers/mobile targets. The problem is that there is too much stam regen, damage and heals, they should lower everybody stam regen and damage by 10-20%, and heals by a 20-30% so people would not run away forever because they die in 2 sec or be immortal in a healing circle and fights would last the right amount of time while beiing more tactical.

    I have been a tank since day one on this game and i agree that changes need to happen to the armor classes. I have no problem with the dodge costing more, heck you could raise the cost even more as long as you lower the cost of blocking with a tower shield.
    Medium needs an overhaul, maybe a 5 percent extra damage buff and maybe some kind of extra mitigation to rainged attacks?

    Yep, reduce the amount of damage done in heavy. That being said, people may start ignoring heavy in PVP if you lower damage done.

    They still haven't solved the problem of range dmg being too oppressive for light and med armor melee players to even consider the switch from heavy back to medium. The stamina change to heavy wont be thst big of a deal imo. It will just make you be more intentional with when you use your dodges and space them out properly so you dont stam out.

    Definitely should not “nerf” your damage while in heavy. Light/mediuk have damage bonuses already.
    Medium/light can easily escape heavy builds, so if you’re dying to heavy, you’re playing it wrong.
    Also, messing the dodge ability just limits the builds that people are gonna run while and heavy, which takes away from the game. It doesn’t add anything. Rather than being able to the dogs incoming damage and everybody’s just gonna try to sit there and block it. So it sounds like they just wants to go back to the cookie cutter BS that makes the game un fun.

    What you said works, 5-10%.. These people don't know how to do minor things, instead just do big things in terms of nerfs/buffs... so inexperienced.. The stamina increase isn't that big of a deal TBH...

    It'll be fine, adaptation will happen and things will get fine tuned. Definitely not dead by any means. In 1v1 it will make heavy weaker, but not in war situations where you're sitting in a sacred ground.

    This is the devs taking the lazy path. Medium just give them the dodge back. Reduce the stamina traits on sns and spear. Don't nerf heavy to make medium feel better.

      I don’t disagree. I’m glad it’s in the meta. It’s just unfortunate that it came at the cost of no one using medium. I would ultimately like to see a good diversity of armor weights being used.

    Absolute BS. Why not they just LOWER ranged damage output in heavy. Ranged weapons are the problem, not heavy armor.

    for PvP i hardly if ever dodge HOW EVER in PvE raids i need to dodge alot and with this shit raids are going to be more troublesome cause a few raids the boss launches more then one attack back to back that needs to be dodged as it is they will make tanking in raids alot more difficult.

    they should have buffed medium instad of nerfing heavy imo, like rather give medium a 45stam dodge or 10%armor pen instad of nerfing heavy

    This is terrible. They want to buff medium armor and make people use it for melee builds by nerfing heavy????
    As medium armor user, tell me where is the buff to me by nerfing heavy????
    Why they don't give to medium armor some stamina regeneration passive, a dodge roll more fluid and a distance of something between right now and light armor??
    Because right now the dodge roll distance of the medium armor is the same as the heavy!!!

      I do agree that medium needs something, but heavy getting hit needed to happen.
      I hate that they nerfed the medium dodge now that they made the dodge animation more fluid and you don't get stuck at the end though.
      I think it was perfect the way it was.
      Light armor for distance rolls and medium for shorter, multiple dodges.
      But overall?? Medium needs lots of love

    i just deleted the game.
    they nerfed shirking heals right away. Why taking so long to nerf heavy?
    how come, me, full build, with healer, dealing 400k (light - fs + bb) in 3 rounds...lose in damage to a heavy - spear + rapier (he made 640k with no healer)?
    this game just suck hard.

    I think their change suggestion is correct , no need to poke it deeper and suggest them lower the heavy damage, lower damage would make heavy unplayable except for a tank-no-dps-build.
    Personally, I think you don't like going to against heavys in pvp that's why you want them to lose damage.
    No third dodge is enough already.

      I’m glad it’s back in the meta and I have no issue fighting heavy players. However, there is literally no reason to use medium armor at the moment.
      I would ultimately like to see all armor weights being used consistently. And maybe their solution will do just that. I hope so! Thanks for watching

    (Disclaimer: This is for just PvP, mainly focused on arena. I understand tanks have a roll in Wars and OPR/Races(eh kind of))
    Two things:
    First off if you are using heavy you are kind of bad, you can’t dodge or use abilities right so you need extra protection. Also you shouldn’t be as mobile as a tank(so the dodge nerf is needed)
    Second, if you meta chase you are kind of bad because you lack creativity and skill to do your own build that may not be as strong.
    So play your own style, stop meta chasing. If you meta chase it’s probably because it’s the “strongest” build, and guess what? If it is the strongest, it’s probably going to get nerfed. Most of you heavy loadout left click hero’s, or holding your shield up for 90% of the fight going to be mad. Look at the no skill BB/FS, they are still holding strong. Everyone complained about shirking heals being dead and it is still strong and got buffed. If you like being a thick boy meat shield or a 0 skill meta chaser, then hold strong, it’s ok to be balanced with everyone else. This requires a little bit more skill, but I believe in you champ. Just remember if you @ me, it probably means you’re bad.

      People shouldn't chase Meta.

      we are not disagreeing with the dodge nerf, we disagree because the dodge nerf is not enough and not effective. ppl will still run heavy, because light is just too bad and die too easily, especially in large scale against ranged etc. also medium load will just do 10% more damage than heavy, but with significantly less damage mitigation, therefore also not worth running. I think perhaps nerf the damage for heavy is probably the best. But we also don't want to kill heavy build entirely, so I'm thinking maybe a big nerf to the damage but adding some more damage mitigation.

    Huge W for AGS nerfing heavy the way they did. One thing the team gets right is balance in my opinion. Overall they’ve done a really good job balancing all of the weapons.

      lol 😂 I actually like the fact that heavy armor is getting used. It hasn’t been meta since launch.
      But when all of the melee in the game is heavy and no one runs medium then there’s a definite issue.
      It’s undeniable that you can still deal tons of damage while mitigating a ton of damage in heavy as it stands right now

      Then they should buff Medium so players want to use it and stop screwing over the other equip burdens.
      As it is, I rarely get killed by heavy players. It's ranged that is so damn oppressive in OPR.
