I've really cut back on makeup purchases this year. And I've let go of the collector mentality, especially with Huda and ND. I skipped the past two Huda palettes as well as the Xenon. Thanks for reminding us that we don't need to buy everything just because it's pretty.
@melindagenitempo2359 The economy is good now and getting a lot better. I am cutting back because of the pandemic slowed down how fast I use stuff. LOL
I’m trying so hard not to be a makeup “collector” too! It’s been so hard and I’ve fallen so many times, but I still want to stop! And I’ll keep trying!
Power Puff Girls was a very popular cartoon circa late 90's early 2000's. Yes, the target audience for the show was young, but that original audience is now in our upper 30's and early 40's. This is a nostalgia collab and really appeals to millennial Americans. When you showed it, I immediately got interested, lol.
oh charlotte i needed this video i’ve been repeating “do not buy a permanent product at full price” to myself like a prayer about that pretty grunge palette
Wait a year or two and you’ll get that bad boy at 50% off. I’m not a Huda fan so I have no problem waiting. I have 3 and I’ve purchased them all at 50% off. Patience is a virtue
Please keep these videos coming. It helps a lot to recognize when too much is too much for average consumer. Thanks for your deep dive into products which helps when it is time for a refresh or replacement!
The PM blue eyeshadow/gloss looks STUNNING in the glamorous well lit evening promo pics with the beautiful models. I shudder to think what they’d look like on most people in real life.
Bobbi Brown (the brand) wants to conquer the Asian market with this "Powerpuff Girls" edition. There is no other way to explain this socio-economically very interesting decision!
I liked the Power Puff Girls when I was a kid and I love Bobbi Brown makeup. I think I’m the target audience for this collection and even I don’t want it or find it appealing.
I have a 52 year old friend who would LOVE that PP Bobbi Brown collection! 😂She actually works in the beauty industry, is totally quirky, artsy and fun. She and i just went halfsies on BOGO beanies. Her's a power puff one and mine, a Snoopy one. It reminds her if watching the show with her daughter💕
Power Puff Girls was big in the 90s (iirc - I'm old and time is a blur) and we're now Bobbi Brown's target audience. They're still adorable - the series has held up well.
I love these videos and I have been able to resist the pull of so many of these launches but Huda’s laser beam focused on me and I had no power against it. Pretty Grunge all day every day till the end of time and beyond. This palette will be buried with me in the hopefully very distant future.
I have 6 mini ND pallets and use them all the time by playing mixing them. It’s very useful for travel and if they reach pan or dry out I just buy a new one. I don’t see use of large pallets as anyway you get only 2-3 looks out of them which are will look pretty similar. I purchased lately my very first PMG Mothership 6 pallet for 79 euros which was on sale…lucky me! I also have Dior “ Tart tartare” and “ Soft Cashemir” I think am set for long time:) Now only investing in a good considers and foundations.. Done with eye shadows for long time…I think😅
I love these videos so much! Not only does it help me control my spending but it lets me know about products that people aren’t talking about. I love Burberry makeup (Wheat eyeshadow?🙌) and was crushed when it was hard to find. I am so glad it’s making a comeback!!
I had a bad maniac habit of buying a lot of makeup, unfortunately, thrown after the exp. date almost untouched. Your work is constructive for my obsession and for my pocket💰. You taught me how to control my urges and to spend my money more cleverly. Thank you,Charlotte. Keep going!😊
I always ask for Ulta/Sephora giftcards for Christmas! Then I can splurge a little and it doesn't hit my wallet. :) Also, I hardly ever pay full-price for anything because there's always a discount available somewhere. Charlotte, you're a gem and I love that lip color on you!
I thought the ND Xenon palette was limited edition? The ND website and Sephora mobile app says it is. Lol that's the only reason I went out and got it along with all the good reviews I've seen of it. Yours being one of them 😊
I saw ND Xenon in store, touched it, loved it, was close to purchase because that shimmers are amazing. The reason I didn’t got it, I wanted a discount in the Sephora app, but it’s not in stock anywhere near me or even in my country😂 it’s very beautiful❤
OMG, Charlotte! You are so right about luminous silk foundation! I have owned a few shades and none of those is the right one for my skin undertone. I thought I was crazy because everyone else loves it. Thank you for this comment. Appreciate it.xx
With ND Xenon palette, i've created 1) a stunning dark smokey eye look with Cygnus, 2) a softer silvery greyish look with Greu, 3) an icy blue look with Ebb & Stella, 4) a soft wearable look with Skiff and Flurry, 5) a matte grey look with Snirt & Blizzard. The palette is great. If mixing too many shades at the same time, everything blends together and it'll look the same. I'm still trying to resist buying INAN, but probably i'll get that too later this month :D
I really love Xenon. A lot of the shades look blue on me…and this is perfect for me! I have. Reared very different looks as well. But with my undertone and grey hair…it looks fabulous on me!
I completely agree, especially regarding the Burberry lipsticks. I have several from like; 10 years ago (black tubes-same packaging) and it was the same then; colors are different, a lot have metalic sheens which I don't like. Plus they're just a nice basic satin formula. Their formula reminds me of Estee Lauders color envy line.
Charlotte how could you???? Luminous Silk is my holiest of holy, perfect colour match, perfection on my skin, takes 40 years off my face.....well not the last claim but it is my favouriest. 😂🤣🤣😂
Super good video dear Charlotte, and always full of humor, thanks so much!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩I saw that Armani foundation a couple of weeks ago here in The Netherlands on a webshop, but it did not call my name or something, same here. Being 53 now, when i use makeup (not everyday) i only use Chantecaille or one of my beloved Made in Japan foundations, like Suqqu. Blue eyeshaodw, no way! Never again! Thanks for another super good video, enjoy your day!!!😘😘😘😘
Thank you for reminding us that new is not always better and that we should use up what we already have. I hope you are happy with your Bobbi Brown purchase, and not only for the packaging. I would love a review of the products because the brand has been around for a long time, and I think BB deserves more attention on YT.
These are my favorite videos that you do. Thank you for your comments on that Natasha Denona Midi palette. It's sitting in my bathroom right now, but I never use it because, like you, I always get the same look from it. What I think the problem is, is that the only transition shade is Snirt. There are no other midtoned shades to use. You might think of Flurry, but it's too light on me. And I'm so Light I glow in the dark. So you need other palettes to get any mileage out of this. Luckily I live in the US and Sephora takes returns. 🤞🏻. I've been on the fence about it, but you convinced me. Thank you.💚
I don’t have FOMO and I only buy/use what works for me. I must be the only one in the world but I do not own any ND, PM, MARIO, PT makeup as it does not work for my older skin type. Thank you for sharing this👍🏻
I am so glad that you are not impressed with the Armani Luminous Silk foundation! I thought I was the only one! I bought it in Boston Mass several years ago and just couldn’t make it work for me. The ladies at the Armani counter shade matched me so I thought I had hit the jackpot. Well…… nothing doing. I put it away but took it out two years ago again but it still gave me no luminosity, colour was too dark, and it just did not work! I was almost fomo’d by this one, but I love my Chanel 1 and Nars Luminous Sheer Glow. Thank you Charlotte!
Thank you, Charlotte. It is hard for us, diligent consumers, to look at your beautiful influencers and say no, I don't need this. We all know it is not conscious; our purchase is totally unconscious and deliciously covering the need to love ourselves more, so we do not need to buy every cosmetic on the planet.
First I just have to say how stunning you look in that blue top and eyeshadow look! Your reading the description of the Armani foundation was making me want to purchase it! Shew! Close call!😂 I love these videos and plan to be good and not spend through the holidays unless it’s a need. I can’t say the same for the indie nail polish sales though!
I've never heard of the Power Puff Girls, I must obviously be too old 😁! But I agree with you Charlotte, I mean what was Estee Lauder thinking 🤔 of by putting packaging like that on an iconic brand like Bobbi Brown. It would certainly put me off. Thank goodness it's a limited edition.
Charlotte- would you ever consider doing a full face of Haus Labs? I love the concealer and foundation and am curious about more but don’t want to get anything that’s not Charlotte approved!
The only one out of these that I literally had to have is Huda Beauty Pretty Grunge. Been using it in nearly every look I have done since receiving it, too, so it's getting lots of love. And then there's the nostalgia factor that also compelled me into taking the leap! That said, I *did* get it during the Sephora Rouge sale with 20% off. Everything else shown in the video is rather 'meh' for me, or just BIZARRE (BB x Power Puffs???).
I am in absolute agreement in regards to the Bobbi Brown collab. How embarrassing! My all time favorite brand has stooped pretty low with this one! I don't get it either!
I loved the power puff girls when I was young. I think it’s nostalgia - most people who loved them are now adults (and in my opinion the Bobbie brown customer). I mean.. I’m not a Bobbie brown fan but the PPGs got me interested 😂
The Powerpuff Girls originally ran from 1998-2005, so I definitely think they're targeting the nostalgic Millennials who are now old enough to splash out on more expensive makeup! I also agree with the comment saying it may be aimed more at the Asian market - I personally adore how even standard make up items are often adorable in e.g. Japan and Korea, so I can see how this may be more appealing in this market, compared to the usual Bobbi Brown plain black/brown/beige aesthetic. I'll be honest, this is the first Bobbi Brown line that has tempted me! 😅
Im 31 and when I was a primary school kid, I was OBSESSED with powerpuff girls, as in I had so much stuff toys, stationary and other random things powerpuff, including a lunchbox which I used to parade around school like I was "cool". When I saw that Bobbi Brown powerpuff girl collection, I kind of want it for nostalgia. I wonder if that line is likely targeting the then kids who grew up with the series who are now adults likely in their thirties or so and in Bobbi Browns target, rather than kids of this gen.
I appreciate this series more than I can express with words, Charlotte. I was, indeed, drawn to the new Xenon palette, even though I haven't worn a dark/black smoky eyes in what feels like forever. And I was debating between the new Xenon and the mini glam by ND - I know, very different price tag there - to get for my birthday. Your video was so so helpful. Also, I don't own any of Anastasia eyeshadow palettes and I've been dreaming about the Modern Renaissance one for ages now. I feel like the mini version is a nice middle ground choice for me.
I sooooo needed this video!!! 💖💖💖 I feel the same way about the Armani foundation, I couldn’t find a good shade & it made my skin look very flat - NOT glowy!! 😆😆😆 I’m waiting for a sale for the pretty grunge palette, I’m so tempted but holding off! I love your hair in this video, you look beautiful ❤❤❤
Not sure about the hate on the Xenon palatte. Its the I Need A Nude that is 15 shades of the same thing and everyone already has these colors if you use ND. INAN is definitely skippable. IMO
Power Puff girls was huge here in the US in the 90s/00s? But it seems like it should be a Colourpop/Revolution collaboration rather than a prestige brand
Thanks Charlotte! Totally agree with you: Nyx or Revolution doing "cute" collabs it make sense. More mature and higer end brands doing that? That's a pass to me. I love nice packaging, not necessarily bland super chic, but I don't want either something that can be found in a 13 yo bathroom ;)
I really love the Armani Luminous silk foundation for my dry, 65 year old fair skin. Do I need another new foundation- no! I will definitely wait for the reviews and only purchase once I finish or close to finish a few of my other foundations.
I cut out on purchasing as well Charlotte you helped a lot with these videos now I do splurge and I have way too much make up but you are the voice of reason ❤
Absolutely love this series, you humor and refreshing honesty has saved me from many purchases so my wallet thanks you! I was dangerously close to getting The ND palette because it spoke to my heart but after hearing your feedback I have decided to wait and see on that one.
Your hair looks fabulous with a side part today ♥️ Thanks for the tips & saving me $. My 8 yr old granddaughter loves makeup so she would love the Bobbi Brown collection
Couldn’t agree more regarding Armani. Bought one years ago, tried a couple of days and in the bin it went. The stink of alcohol, which really doesn’t bother me, was overwhelming and my skin, normal/oily, looked so dry. I swore never again
I know this is the opposite goal of these videos, but I cannot wait for the Armani foundation. My favorite foundation of all time, the holiest of holy grails, was their Designer Lift. It’s perfection. Skin like, medium coverage, dries down, lasts all day, glowy enough, but not too glowy, and far and away the most smoothing foundation I’ve ever used on lines and pores, with absolutely zero cake-factor. I have a bottle that is absolutely expired, but I don’t care since it hasn’t killed me yet, and I ration it for special occasions. I am hoping this new one is a revamp of that line with an actual shade range. (It had an atrociously shameful shade range… we’re talking, maybe 8, with the deepest a medium tan at best.) It blows all of their other foundations out of the water. I never understood how Luminous Silk is their star product when they’ve had this formula in their vault just wasting away.
I've seen both of those reg size ABH palettes in TJ Maxx last yr. I was close to picking them up until I saw the shades in person. They didn't look like what I had seen online or by anyone who reviewed them. So back to the shelf they went. I would have liked to have tried their formula but those shades would have made me look ill. So not the look I'm going for... 😅
Love the series! Pretty Grunge is nothing new to those who have been buying Huda palettes. Honestly when it came out I thought it was existing palette!
I've really cut back on makeup purchases this year. And I've let go of the collector mentality, especially with Huda and ND. I skipped the past two Huda palettes as well as the Xenon. Thanks for reminding us that we don't need to buy everything just because it's pretty.
Kind of same here especially with the economy.
@melindagenitempo2359 The economy is good now and getting a lot better. I am cutting back because of the pandemic slowed down how fast I use stuff. LOL
Definitely - I found once I skipped one thing it got so much easier to skip more!
I just spent $500.00 on makeup. Don't know how😅
I’m trying so hard not to be a makeup “collector” too! It’s been so hard and I’ve fallen so many times, but I still want to stop! And I’ll keep trying!

I am making myself wait on ND and Pretty Grunge.
I'm not even looking to be talked out of products for the most part. But this is still one of my favorite series ever!
Me too!
Same! I'm not even interested in a lot of these. But I loooove these videos from Charlotte!
Please keep these videos coming. It helps a lot to recognize when too much is too much for average consumer. Thanks for your deep dive into products which helps when it is time for a refresh or replacement!
I think the Powerpuff girl thing is for the older millenial girlies who loved a bit of the ppgs back in the day! Nostalgia but with a grown up vibe 😂
I agree, I was one of those and thought the same, Im 31 and was obsessed with the powerpuff girls as a kid in the 90s
This is exactly what I thought!
The PM blue eyeshadow/gloss looks STUNNING in the glamorous well lit evening promo pics with the beautiful models. I shudder to think what they’d look like on most people in real life.
It’s true
Yeah 😂 it's not going to look great down the local! 🍺
Im excited about the Bobbi x Powerpuff collab because I know it will be on clearance soon enough and I can get the products cheap 😂

They help me window shop, pause for a few days, and if I don’t still want it, I don’t buy it.
That was the same for me with ND's I need a nude. No regrets whatsoever, I could not sleep until I had it, and I love it!
I have 6 mini ND pallets and use them all the time by playing mixing them. It’s very useful for travel and if they reach pan or dry out I just buy a new one. I don’t see use of large pallets as anyway you get only 2-3 looks out of them which are will look pretty similar. I also like the mini palettes. I buy them on sale.
I love these videos so much! Not only does it help me control my spending but it lets me know about products that people aren’t talking about. I love Burberry makeup (Wheat eyeshadow?🙌) and was crushed when it was hard to find. I am so glad it’s making a comeback!!
Huda beauty i did buy it and i love it. Pretty grunge ❤❤❤
Me too!
Charlotte describing a gift card as a cheeky voucher was the cutest thing ever
I had a bad maniac habit of buying a lot of makeup, unfortunately, thrown after the exp. date almost untouched. Your work is constructive for my obsession and for my pocket💰. You taught me how to control my urges and to spend my money more cleverly. Thank you,Charlotte. Keep going!😊
I still have those two original ABH palettes, still love and use them both.
the first thing i noticed about this video is how your navy top and your eyeshadow make your eye color really pop!
I'm getting Huda's palette, my sister got it, pigmentation is insane and it blends like a dream!
I always ask for Ulta/Sephora giftcards for Christmas! Then I can splurge a little and it doesn't hit my wallet. :) Also, I hardly ever pay full-price for anything because there's always a discount available somewhere. Charlotte, you're a gem and I love that lip color on you!

I enjoy watching your channel and saying to myself ‘I know Charlotte you’re right, I don’t need it!’❤
Thanks Charlotte you are absolutely correct we all tend to just rush to buy stuff when we see it but it’s always best to wait see you soon ❤
I’m so tempted 🤣🤣🤣 I want the Huda pallet 🤍🤍🤍 she’s so pretty
With ND Xenon palette, i've created 1) a stunning dark smokey eye look with Cygnus, 2) a softer silvery greyish look with Greu, 3) an icy blue look with Ebb & Stella, 4) a soft wearable look with Skiff and Flurry, 5) a matte grey look with Snirt & Blizzard. The palette is great. If mixing too many shades at the same time, everything blends together and it'll look the same. I'm still trying to resist buying INAN, but probably i'll get that too later this month :D
I really like it, too. There are a lot of great one and dones in this palette that I don’t own. I love grays and icy colors ❤.
I really love Xenon. A lot of the shades look blue on me…and this is perfect for me! I have. Reared very different looks as well. But with my undertone and grey hair…it looks fabulous on me!
I think Bobbi Brown is trying to unlock the nostalgia of those of who loved the show as a child/teen who are now pushing 40.😂
Always enjoy these videos but extra helpful to be reminded with the temptations of holiday releases & sales
Thanks again for being the humorous voice of reason!!!
I need these videos weekly 😂
Yes yes yes !!!!
Yasss!! Always love a new Charlotte video, especially in this series!! 💜💜💜
I love this series. Great job. ❤
Thank you.💚
I adore these videos! I have too much makeup! Thank you 🙏
I love this series! To date, you helped several hundred dollars remain in my bank account!
I agree with the Armani luminous silk foundation, I found it quite matte and it even irritated my skin.
I love these videos from you Charlotte! It's so entertaining when you let your comedian out, you make me laugh every time
Natasha denona i got that pallet as well. And the yacca pallet. I just love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ them
I don’t have FOMO and I only buy/use what works for me.
I must be the only one in the world but I do not own any ND, PM, MARIO, PT makeup as it does not work for my older skin type.
Thank you for sharing this👍🏻
Charlotte is here saving us money again 🙌 thank you 🙏 and of course I'm sat here laughing 😂 powder puff girls 🤔😂
I am so glad that you are not impressed with the Armani Luminous Silk foundation! I thought I was the only one! I bought it in Boston Mass several years ago and just couldn’t make it work for me. The ladies at the Armani counter shade matched me so I thought I had hit the jackpot. Well…… nothing doing. yay my favorite series on the entire youtube 🥳 you are so funny, Charlotte

You got the sale so you still followed Charlotte’s advice. That is the key. Never pay full price.
Thank you, your Videos are great and 🙂 it's easy to understand you speaking english because me I'm a german woman! Like to watch 👍🙂
Charlotte, you are absolutely fabulous! Much love for this series... and sometimes you convince me. 💕
OMG I just got so excited to see this pop up! I need this now more than ever. ❤
I love Huda!! I already have 2 palettes and I am holding back from third one😂
17:27 love the bluntness! Thanks so much for this video. Always enjoyable. Always talk me out of something!
I’m so glad to know that you think luminous silk is overrated. I’ve tried it for years and I still can’t get it to work for me.
Thank you Charlotte!
The Powerpuff Girls originally ran from 1998-2005, so I definitely think they're targeting the nostalgic Millennials who are now old enough to splash out on more expensive makeup!

I sooooo needed this video!!! 💖💖💖
I feel the same way about the Armani foundation, I couldn’t find a good shade & it made my skin look very flat - NOT glowy!!
IMO
You are so right about trying a sample first.
Power Puff girls was huge here in the US in the 90s/00s? But it seems like it should be a Colourpop/Revolution collaboration rather than a prestige brand

Always great advice Charlotte 😊
I really love the Armani Luminous silk foundation for my dry, 65 year old fair skin. Do I need another new foundation- no! I will definitely wait for the reviews and only purchase once I finish or close to finish a few of my other foundations.
Thank you for this video! I appreciate your opinion. I need this now.
Xenon palette all looked blue and white on me . Returned it
I cut out on purchasing as well Charlotte you helped a lot with these videos now I do splurge and I have way too much make up but you are the voice of reason ❤
Absolutely love this series, you humor and refreshing honesty has saved me from many purchases so my wallet thanks you! I was dangerously close to getting The ND palette because it spoke to my heart but after hearing your feedback I have decided to wait and see on that one.
The nd pallette looks gorgeous xx
Your hair looks fabulous with a side part today ♥️ Thanks for the tips & saving me $. My 8 yr old granddaughter loves makeup so she would love the Bobbi Brown collection
I always love and appreciate these videos. Thank you ❤
I’m really loving your eyeshadow today☺️
I agree with you about all the foundations who claims to have skincare in their formulas. It is a joke to make you buy it.
Love this series!
Looooove this series!!! It's so genius and helpful! Thanks Charlotte❣️
Love, Sabine 😘
Couldn’t agree more regarding Armani. Bought one years ago, tried a couple of days and in the bin it went. The stink of alcohol, which really doesn’t bother me, was overwhelming and my skin, normal/oily, looked so dry. I swore never again
Thank you, as ever, Charlotte, for a great video ❤
Yeah, I did not order from PML this year🎉 Just nothing new and I love my products I own from her.
Nothing to do with the topic but because of your ULTRA WEAR LIQUID LIP COLOUR from Chanel recommendation I now am in love. And need like 5!
I really, really want that grunge pallets, simply because of the aesthetic, I don’t even wear eyeshadow! The black creamy shade is beautiful
I love this series!!!
I love Armani luminous silk! It’s my holy grail!
Got the sultry but mine has so many pans. I still love the colors but I did finally throw away the old one lol
Oh but do need it ❤
Love the series!
Pretty Grunge is nothing new to those who have been buying Huda palettes. Honestly when it came out I thought it was existing palette!
Love that lip colour on you 😍
best series ever love itttt
