- Matt heads out on a solo kayak duck and goose hunt with his 28 gauge, unsure of what to expect. He decides to run a mostly goose spread, as confidence for mallards and to pull in any passing geese. The wind was perfect and helped him decoy geese in nice and tight. In the end, Matt was able to bag his first ever goose limit with his new 28 gauge. Goose hunting over water is hard to beat!

great hunt, i’m 17 and started hunting when i was 16, you inspired me to go on solo hunts a lot more frequently and i can confidently say i’ve had the most fun i’ve ever had duck hunting when i would go alone.
Solo hunts are a blast!

Am glad for you, as a young waterfowl hunter I was taught never to hunt alone , when I did I almost, lost my life at 20, never again I learned
There's nothing wrong with solo hunts. Just have to know your limits

Unbelievable 28 gauge goose limit ! I believe when you shot them two you shot in front of them a little bit . Man they were so close ! And that last bunch to finish ! But you could only pic one ! Great hunt Matt !

I know you love your 28, but with the geese flying overhead like that, it's perfect 10 gauge shooting. You should try it at least once.

you need to start loading your own ammo. the 28ga load I make is good on large geese out to 60 to 70 yards maybe more. $1.80 a round 170 pellets

Haven't seen ur sx4 20 gauge for a while. Did you get it fixed? Have you totally abandoned the 12 gauge? Will you ever get a new 12 as they don't make the versa max anymore hard to find parts I assume.
Yep, got it fixed. Just haven't broke it out again. Still will use the 12 on most goose hunts. Just had perfect conditions for a 28 ga hunt
