This was great. Two intelligent people with very different opinions on certain issues, calmly discussing and learning from each other. I learned a lot about where both are coming from. I wish this was the way it always was.
And that's not a shot at the network. I'm saying I wish all networks had more of this.

I don’t understand why networks don’t have political debates with a First Take style format. It would be so popular. Having Will Cain and SAS debate politics would be awesome. I know networks would never do that though bc they like having echo chambers but man I wish SAS and Will Cain created a podcast together. It would be as popular as Joe Rogan.

@@billymadison4903 I’ve never been a big fan but I have a lot of respect for someone that works hard and overcomes some big hurdles to be successful. The fact that his own dad told him he wasn’t going to amount to anything, and he went on to be a very successful commentator is inspiring. I don’t agree with a lot of stuff he says, but I like that he has the courage to come onto these shows, engage in some healthy debate, and walk away still maintaining civility. We should all strive to debate this way and maybe we can find some common ground.

After a nightmarish 2022, shell-shocked investors have losses to recoup and plenty to ponder, as an inflation report and a raft of other data did little to change expectations that the Federal Reserve would likely continue hiking intrest rates even if the economy slows down, Which means more red ink for portfolios for the first quarter of year 2023. How can I profit from the current volatile market, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $250k bond/stocck portfolio
@Arif Ameen Masif Uncertainty... it took me 5 years to stop trying to predict what bout to happen in market based on charts studying, cause you never know. not having a mentor cost me 5 years of pain I learn to go we’re the market is wanting to go and keep it simple with discipline.

As much as I can’t stand some of the things that Stephen A says and as annoying as he can be at times, It’s almost impossible to not come away with a level of respect for him as a man and as a personality. He’s one of the very few people left at espn I can appreciate.

Many/most black Americans are ‘conservative’. Most goto church and espouse conservative views and values. The strong majority of black folks do not vote Republican, because of the GOP’s embrace of division and basic racism since the southern strategy in 1968.

I often wondered how Stephen A. truly felt about Will Cain back in those First Take days. (If he liked him or not.) So it's good to see them together in this interview.
Always thought Stephen A liked Will more than Max Kellerman
First Take is Steven's show. Cain wouldn't be there if SAS ain't like him. Will Cain was needed to balance out Max Kellerman's super liberal wokeness.

Sas has final say on who comes onto first take so without his permission those debates never would have happened. Shephen a is smart when it comes to who he allows onto his show

I have full custody of son . I've been the Mom and the Dad a lot of his life . I was raised by my Momma alone . It's better to have two loving parents in the home . Women are special and bring something special to the table ,and so do good men .

Stephen a smith is a real man for this interview he can stand in the fire with his views. To be raised with such control over emotion and an ability to articulate these points with control of his emotions with topics this on the edge is elite. He deserves more than he’s worth. Very powerful man.
Congrats to you both on being such professionals when it comes to your crafts. This interview was top notch. I've been a fan of you both for years and seeing you guys on this side of the fence (of the sports world) is pleasantly satisfying. I remember you guys going at it on First Take with your heated rivalry. They were by far the best moments of First Take. Dare I say the Ying and Yang of debating. I'll keep it a buck. This interview is really good. I didn't like Will Cain on FT, but this interview, the relaxed, not performing version of Stephen A is so much more interesting to me. Will Cain is good here. Very good.

Will’s beef with Max made Will look angry because those two were on two different ends of the spectrum. Max was so liberal it made Will seem extremely biased.
The older I get the more will Cain becomes my guy. Don’t always agree. But dude is great at his job

Excellent discussion and "open dialogue." Wow! If only our Congress and White House would "work together" like you guys do. At one time, there was an "open dialogue" between the two parties, not any more. The "far right" and the "far left" are too busy verbally attacking each other and fighting for power and control while totally ignoring "we the people."

Yep. Both parties have deviated from what they were back even 20 years ago. Now they are too busy both pointing the finger at each other while they only work together to give themselves their raises to "match inflation" while the rest of America suffer.

I loved this !!!!!! I use to watch these two on ESPN . It's awesome to hear the honest perspective of these two on there personal relationshipsl with each other and with there family. It's also awesome to hear them speak on there outlook on the industry and social issues.

People talk about a Skip and SAS reunion, this is the reunion I wanted to see.
Says alot about Stephen A that he would go on a competitors show to do an interview with a previous colleague. Awesome stuff.
He also went on the ODD COUPLE with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker who are his close friends.
Thing is , he is trying to sell his book. His motivation is profit driven
