I just scored a brand new,in crate from 1999 Jotul #404 wood cook stove with oven!!! It's enameled cast iron and beautiful !!! Found it locally for $100.00 !!!!!!
Just a suggestion for your chimney. Use insulated flue pipe for the entire run. You want the flue to stay hot inside to improve draft and prevent cresote. That single wall cools quickly causing the smoke to cool and form cresote on the surface. I noticed you did put the pipes together the proper way so the cresote doesn't end up running down the outside of the pipe. Looks great!
So much learned from watching your channel. You are great at explaining everything in a way that even people like me get it. Thank you for sharing and making things simple.
The new stove looks great! It will certainly come in handy when winter arrives not to mention when the baby comes! This is going to be an exciting time for both of you. I can"t wait!!!
Wow the woodstove looks really nice! Skeeter is going to love laying by the fire! Cierra looks beautiful with her baby bump!! My daughter has a beautiful baby bump too! Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts in life ♥️🥰♥️
So good effort on the high temp. Silicone. However, the product is not the same as Fire Barrier Caulk with a rating of 2000 degrees F. In addition, Fire barrier caulk has an elastomer that expands when exposed to heat or flames. Trapping the smoke and prevent the fire from reaching an oxygen source. Pricing for the correct product is within a few dollars of each. FD150 3M™ Fire Barrier Sealant FD 150+ is a gun-grade, latex-based, elastomeric sealant that cures upon exposure to the atmosphere to form a monolithic flexible firestop seal
I bought the smaller version of this stove a few years ago for my 170 square foot hunting cabin. It is solid, works great and I can’t run it too high as it gets too hot in the cabin. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a good quality stove!
Kyle, your work ethic is commendable, you’re an all around good dude and I have no doubt you will be an amazing father! Thank you for sharing these pieces of your life with us.
Personal preference. When I do heat sheilding. No matter what it is. I leave roughly a one inch gap to the wall also. And I leave the same kind of gap at both the bottpm and top of my sheilding. It promotes air flow behind the sheilding through convective air flow. Helping to keep the wall cooler. And helping circulate some of the heat in the room.
Great tutorial! Just what I needed. I have a mini version of your same stove, so all of the steps you outlined are relevant to my own install (except I'm not going thru the roof!)
I have the same stove in my shop, tho I ran it through the wall instead of the roof. I love the glass in the door (requires regular cleaning to see the flames). Perfect for the Colorado winters!
Great job with the stove install! It looks awesome on the wall, and I'm sure it'll heat the new addition like noones business..😊 Love what you're doing 😊
Hey Kyle, I had an idea for you when you were finishing up your chimney on the roof. Consider placing an upside down V shaped barrier above chimney pipe to thwart rain run-off from hitting chimney pipe. Consider placing a flat top over the V barrier to prevent snow accumulation inside V barrier. I hope this makes sense. All the best! Willard .
Lovely new wood stove, fits perfectly in the cabin atmosphere. And thank you for showing us how you installed it, will definitely use it as reference when I will install one in my cabin 😊
Hey, the cabin looks great!! It's going to be nice and snugglie this winter. I predict you guys will have a little boy to rock by that warm stove. God's blessings to you and your family!!! 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
Im going to purchase cement board today for the tinkerers box. Maybe some insulation, fireproof foam, board a metal for behind the furnace flue. I love you r workmanship. God bless you.
Hi again KYLE Happy fall! Perfect timing getting your stove/fireplaces installed. You did a super job as usual. Will be just the right timing and you'll be all settled in for the baby too. Looking forward to seeing your other cabin go up. Thx as always for sharing. Stay safe...
Hi :) Kyle you make everything look so easy. Great work. Just remember, you'll also need some type of gate or barrier to ensure safety for the lil one. Congrats. Can't wait for you both to become parents, it's challenging but worth every minute of it - great moment in your lives.
Everything looks great! Glad you have the stove installed as cooler weather is coming! Cierra looks so pretty and great! Cute couple with lots of life knocking at your doors! Enjoy!
Your channel and the channel of the Whipple family is the only one I watch all the way through including commercials thank you so much for taking us along for the journey Cireria has and continues to look very beautiful during her time of joy you both are going to make wonderful parents. Your parents are going to make wonderful grandparents. Much respect from Mississippi.
I ordered a small tent stove. I'm going to crush some firebricks and stir them into fireplace mortar and mold the combination into a small rectangular pan to dry. Then remove from the pan and put on the bottom of the litl wood burning stove. Maybe the side too. A thinner liner for a smaller area to protect from , potentially, burning through.
Will you do a final tour of all the upgrades at the cabin and the babies room the new kitchen, master bedroom, etc. when it’s all done? I’ve been looking forward to this and really excited for y’all.❤
I installed my own wood stove last year in a residential home. This video shares a lot of great info, would’ve saved me a lot of research time. Be careful, but it’s a totally doable project. I like how you went above and beyond the clearances, I did the same.
Hey Kyle, one of the things you might want to try i went online and bought those silicone cookie sheets and use that on my wall tent. I cut a hole in it a little smaller then my chimney diameter and use it to keep water from coming down the chimney. Im in Wisconsin and have property up in North west Wis right by lake superior so those fall storms can be fun 🙂 Keep up the great work love watching the channel!!
Finally someone who addressed the wall concerns! Thank you

Great idea about the air gap spacer. Thanks!

leaving a space at the top and bottom with your stand off will help circulate heat by drawing cold air in at the bottom.
Your right. Won’t work the it’s done.
I really like that wood stove. Really nice looking. Beautiful job Kyle…👍
You have a loyal dog. You must be a very good owner.
Kyle, your work ethic is commendable, you’re an all around good dude and I have no doubt you will be an amazing father! Thank you for sharing these pieces of your life with us.
Thank you that means a lot. Appreciate your support
Awesome, Kyle, as usual! Getting ready for the precious addition!❤
I enjoy watching your videos, Kyle you’re not afraid of trying anything and you’re just making it on your own. It’s awesome. The cabin looks amazing.

Great progress on the addition & of course Skeeter was making sure it was done right
Hi from Canada .Interesting video thanks for sharing
Needs a 1” air gap at the base of the hear shield to draw air in at the bottom and a gap at the top to escape.
Great job Kyle. Can you believe the weather we’re having? High 70’s and low 50’s. Both of you, Sketter, your cat and chickens be well!!
Hey Kyle! That's a cute little stove. I like it
Cierra's baby bump is beautiful!!! I'm so excited! Two more months!

I think your ready for winter. I put some of the cement board tape on some of the seams today. I might need to glue that down. Not sure. Stay warm.

Get pictures of the Northern Lights Kyle, this Fall.
Sweet stove, hadn’t heard of those before, looking for something like that for our small cabin on Superior. 👍
Just found your videos
Good job
I’m in hvac
Just a heads up All the male ends of the stove pipe should up and out the top
Keep up the cool video’s
Stove pipe is different than HVAC. Male ends point down so the creosote doesn't run down the outside of the pipe.
