I'm from the UK but fascinated by the American civil war and its great historical characters like Stonewall, Lee, Grant and Lincoln. I hope one day to be able to visit some of the battlefields and take some tours. But videos like yours are superb and let those of us overseas see these famous places. I've also found excellent podcasts. Thanks for this video it's much appreciated.

That was outstanding. Fun and informative. I am reading Ernest Furgurson book "Chancellorsville 1863" right now and this video is an awesome addition to what I am reading. Much thanks!!

Chris soooo much Thanks and Gratitude for making these videos. I appreciate all the candor and tech-magic. For someone that thousands miles away it great to see first hand as you show us. I loved the photo ops as the road intersection is now currently and then in a photograph of it back then during the time.

Lovely prose on that sign. We will not see that again on these barbaric times. Thank you for the super videos.

I really enjoyed your video. Just watching you drive towards the 4-way intersection of Brock Road really brought back memories.I grew up right off Orange Plank Road and used to play in those wilderness woods as a child. There are earthworks all through there! It wasn't until recently that I became interested in the history of Civil War Battles. After reading "The Battle of The WIlderness" by Gordon C. Rhea, I realized that I literally grew up and played in a battlefield. Not for nothing, but some of the details in the book about specific topography regarding the woods to the northside of Orange Plank (west side of Brock Rd.) I vividly remember. Are you considering doing one on the Battle of The Wilderness? Thanks for posting.

I'd never realised that Jackson was ill on the day. That can't have helped his recovery. (Thanks for the video and the information.)

Dr. Chris: Do you know if there will be any programs this year ('23) commemorating the battle of Chancellorsville? Thanks.

We're sure the park will have some sort of events. ECW will be teaming up with the American Battlefield Trust to do some stuff, too. Did you see our Fredericksburg 160th coverage with them? th-cam.com/play/PLZrhqv_T1O1sZbxH6pLFYKtreRLLo-zBp.html

THat is a great drive, unfortunately its easy to get lost near the end. The signs just stop.

I've mentioned the upcoming 160th before. Do you expect the park to be crowded this year? Thanks.

Honestly, we have no way of knowing. Attendance will be higher than usual, certainly, but how much more so, we're not sure. 160th events at Fredericksburg were down compared to other anniversaries.
