KUDOS CHRIS!!!!!
Thanks again for signing the copy for me at the SB Meet Up. Look forward to reading it.
I do hope you narrate this book and have it on Amazon audible as soon as possible. The flow of your reading is exceeded only by your creative writing prose.
Great book! Looking forward to receiving my copy.
Congratulations! 🎉
F and B retired back in Feb 2024. Google it.
I love listening to experts on such a specific topic like this, you can tell he knows Lincoln through and through simply through accounts and reading alone. Cool interview
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great speaker!
Thanks for "getting into the weeds"
Tell them about black confederates at Petersburg, 2 regiments
Talbot
Any kin to Herby tallboy?
I’ve been to Cross Keys. CWT has quite a few signs there and a cemetery.
Great Program! Could links be provided to the website? Could another program be made to go into further details about the submission process?
Excited to read this. But $48 on Kindle?
Manuel Causeway
He does an amazing tour of that battlefield.
APPRECIATE YOU CHRIS MACKOWSKI!!!!!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the insight from an author and historian dealing with the complexity of horrific events
A great book and a must read for anyone truly interested in understanding the Gettysburg campaign. Kent is a treasure.
Fantastic interview and congratulations.
Someone needs to go tell Him and his wife kids Grandchilden that back in July those people resigned and not only to visit the African Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia but also House of Confederacy Clay Street. Have them Google it ty.
So grateful for your and the efforts of others to save this precious hallowed ground!
So cool, what an improvement
Keep fighting the good fights!
I hope the audio version of both books comes soon!
I walk the Brandy Station Battlefield area probably once every year for the last 20 years. Almost every time I think of people like Mr. Hall that made this possible. Many thanks!
Bud Hall tells it like it is and pulls no punches.....thanks Bud for being a voice for battlefield preservation!
It could also be seen as the beginning of the 1862 Confederate Overland campaign.
My ancestor a Captain in Forrest's cavalry along with his two brothers served the entire war.
Well done Bud Hall and the ABT for making the state park happen! I never thought I would see the day!
Brilliant set of questions and answers! The personal relationships in the Union command was especially intriguing.
In the broader view, MacClellan reorganizes a jumble of two armies into an organized force, then repulses Lee's invasion of Maryland less than three weeks after Second Manassas. This accomplish can't be downplayed even though the ANV was a drastically hollow force at this time. It might be worth it to have a serious examination of the first ten days or so of September in Washington, where he shows up, looks at the wreck, and says "CUT THE SH!T!" Any huge task involves finding the right tool for the right job. He was a tool, all right, but the right one for that moment.
Great talk! It would have been fun to get Dennis Frye in on this one.
As a highly talented, adaptable, formidable, intelligent, fearless, ruthless, competent and pragmatic military commander and professional cavalryman, i greatly respect and admire general Forrest for his merits. *Nothing else.*
This was a lot of fun. In particular, it's interesting to contemplate how a lot of the "myths" started, grew stronger, and remain. Thanks for this. Dr. Chris: You are the ultimate CW host! 👍🏻
Mac failed to commit enough troops into battle to actually win said battle. With the knowledge the confederates weren’t at full strength. And you’re giving him high marks?
I know right, it's like these guys don't know anything. Just because they spent all those years critically examining primary sources, they think they know more than us?! When will these people learn that Stephen Sears and Gods and Generals are the ONLY story? Why can't they just be a smart as us?! Alrighty then, I got to go jump back on the you tube band wagon, others need me! People are starting to believe the earth is round. *Put's on my cape* Excelsior!
Not so much Grant -- eliminating armies -- as surrounding the army. The only one I can think of where the enemy army was destroyed rather than encircle and captured was Pap Thomas at Nashville...
This was Excellent
Outstanding presentation. It really filled in some gaps in my knowledge. Well done, Mr. Welch.
Morar Landing
It was fun to hear the thoughts and motivations for the public history at Atlanta's Civil War museum. I am employed as a professional park guide at a site with 300+ years of human history, so making choices concerning which stories to emphasize is constantly on the radar as public interest changes.
Superlatives fail. Superb musicians, upstanding gentlemen, musicologists, and even Fred as an actor.
Morissette Underpass
Very very cool Still wonder if a human could maneuver like that
maybe Memphis will fall into the Mississippi River
Well done young man.
Union guards murdered black Confederates entering Northern prisons
An impressive collection of books and memorabilia. As a photography collector myself, be careful not to have the wall mounted photos and documents exposed to direct or or strong reflected sunlight as they will fade over time.
