This solution worked for me, thank you! I also seemed to have something stuck in the extruder gears, but let loose after I got the filament out and started feeding more into the line.
Stuck in the extruder gear? I'm not sure how that's possible because the filament is supposed to be between there lol. Glad it worked out for you though!! I love when my tips help others!!
Thank you so much. I cannot express how indubitably amazed I am with your exeptional technique. You have saved me much pain and anguish. You have my respect.
This helped incredibly, you just didn't mention how annoyingly hard it is to yank the tube out after taking out the little blue clip, I was so careful it took a lot of effort because I was afraid of damaging it
What if it’s stuck somewhere in the hot end? Nozzle was brand new and even after clearing it with a pick the filament wouldn’t come out. So I removed the nozzle and the filament seems to be stuck in the hot end.
@@misodaglass I ended up replacing the hotend. It was on my Vyper that came with a hotend wire soldered to the side of the block that was loose and failing. So I got a hotend with new Bowden tubing, a block sock, new nozzles, and that side wire on the block has screw for securement.
If I remember right, my filament wasn’t exactly stuck in the hot end, but at and in the end of the Bowden tube that goes on top of the hotend. I was able to get ahold of it somehow and cut the burnt, blocked end of the tubing. It ran a couple months before replacement of the hotend.
@ThePrintHouse awesome video, solved my problem, had to use the second method, and push a section through to push snapped section from the feeding gear
Idk if the filament is broken but its stuck in the tube when i took it apart like you did in the video the filament is stuck it was printing and it just stopped because the filament ran out i got new filament in but should i cut the remaining from the tube and try printing something small ?
so I have a tiny bit of filament that's lodged into the back of first hole on the cold end and there's nothing for me to grab onto with something like needlenose pliers
I can see that the filament bends while extruding and gets caught up in the housing. Removing the jam is easy - but how do you prevent it. It seems this is ruining 2/3 prints for me.
My filament stripped, so i had to take the tube out completely, sadly there are still remnants in the tube itself which i am unable to get out, even when heating the hoten d to 230c. I just ordered a capcricon tube as replacement..
Not at all, tried pulling the filament out with pliers and the filament snapped before it moved. Now it's completely stuck in there with no way of pulling it out.
I actually just had to deal with this problem last night. I replaced my extruder with an all metal extruder. It's very easy to do and will prevent cracks. When you replace your extruder it will come with new metal fittings, so if you need to cut the bowden tube with scissors then you can do that and it won't be a problem :)
hi I have had times when my printer will brake the filament And I tried to do what you did without knowing the way to loosen it and made it so much worse but I got so pliers and replaced it
it was very helpful, but now the ball that got previously stuck in the nozzle now is stuck in the gold part of the white pipe that i tried to pull the whole filament from, it just broke off. i dont know what to do now i tried heating up this part by touching it to the nozzle but if wont work, is there a way to just take this gold part off and i will just put it on a pan to heat it up more so the clogged part just melt ?
please help, i was changing my filament and the end of the filament got stuck in the feeder thingy and the filament broke while trying to tug it out. so now there's a little bit of filament stuck in the thing and i have already took the tube of and there's no way to pull it out
Hello. I seem to not be able to unscrew the screws with an rench, even if they are the correct size. Is there a locking mechanism to the printer? I am scared of breaking it.
There is no locking mechanism. Yours must just be very tight. I dont think you will break it, just make sure you are loosening and not tightening the screw.
If you cut the filament from the hot end side, so it is not stuck to the nozzle, you can remove the tube and then slide a fresh piece of filament through it. If you have a huge blob of filament stuck in the tube, you might need to replace your bowden tube entirely.
Yo so I wa printing something right (I have an ender 3 v2 neo) and the filament snapped or something and the filament is stuck in the tube and idk what to do I tried the extruder thing and I think w have different printers what do I do I'm worried.
24 hour print wasted got to 20 hour ran out, it tells me to replace I say ok then it brings me to the moving screen didn’t see any type of reload button to get out the old shit, so I hit the back button, after I do that it brings me back to tune print stop now I can’t get back to the moving screen after I just watched this video to find out I have to negative the extruder, (you know common knowledge) I’m beyond pissed just wasted $40 of material and 20 hours on a project I can’t even resume
@@ThePrintHouse I did this using the smallest allen wrench. I finally saw filament coming out the nozzle. It was like there was a road block in the bowden tube right by the Extruder. Running a test to see if it'll finally print something.
Usually if the filament is stuck in the tube you will be required to cut the tube where the end of the filament is. The tube is so slippery if it gets stuck it's usually not going to come out.
This was very helpful. My husband was getting frustrated, finding this video explained everything perfectly!
Fantastic in glad!!

Thank you so much. I’m new to 3-D printing. Your video was easy to understand and I was able remove filament that was stuck
Awesome! That is the comment I love to hear! :)
I got my Ender 3 v2 as a christmas gift and it was used. I had filament stuck in the tube, so your video saved my printer!

Ohhh hmmmm I wonder why. Have you used a ball end hex driver? Usually a ball end driver will help you screw the screws in.

My V2 doesn't have that nice screw to loosen the plastic tube sadly. It's connected differently
My filament broke off inside the tube where there is no way to grab it to pull it out.
Thank you for this video. I may have stabbed myself in the upper arm in the process, but I still got the filament out. 😂
