Got my Touring on June 16, the first day dealers were allowed to sell them. I agree on the first 2 dislikes, NO lumbar and too noisy. Otherwise I love it. Honda really upgraded the suspension and steering. Overall feels more German and solid. Some other nice touches I noticed. Aluminum hood and configurable instrument cluster.
I have a sport and no rattle on my screen. lack of lumbar support doesnt really bother me since all the other cars I tested at similar price points didnt have it either and Ive never driven a car with it to begin with. And cabin noise has never bothered me, I just blast music over it. I will say I wish they had wireless apple car play across all trims, especially when a lot of their competition does like the elantra. I would also like the option to get a wireless charger installed in the non touring models, or at least a second usb port
Thank u. My exact thoughts. Wouldn’t mind paying an extra $500 for a wireless charger/ apple carplay option. Also would like an option for manual transmission because fuck a cvt. Everything else I could care less about. I like the look and cost of the “Sport” trim. I don’t want to pay 30k+ for a touring civic. I mean at that point I might as well get an Accord or hell even go for an Acura.
Bit late but I have to agree with this. I've seen a lot of people talk about the "missing lumbar support" and I have NEVER bought or ridden in a car with obvious lumbar support, let alone adjustable lumbar support. :D
Two of the dislikes that I agree is the lack of lumbar adjustability and the road noise. Another dislike is the lack of a/c ventilation for the rear seats in the top trims. For the lower trims a big dislike is that the rear seats don’t fold down 60/40 but the entire bench seat is folded down; so you wouldn’t have the option for the seat to be partially down while someone is seating in the rear. I would rather have the Si version of the Honda Civic but it’s disappointing that it won’t be available as a hatchback - probably a deal breaker.
I agree totally about the lack of lumbar support. And your comments about the rattle from the display are interesting; I'm not real fond of these iPad-like displays that stick up from the top of the dash -- they look so fragile. It's not surprising that there's a rattle. (I haven't yet driven a '22 yet, none of my local dealers have any in stock!)
With every new car or refresh, Honda claims they've improved interior noise levels (so they know interior noise is a common complaint about their vehicles). But it's almost never enough - and the upcoming Hatchback will probably be even louder. I'd imagine Honda considers the minimal addition of sound deadening to be an easy, no-cost, weight reduction strategy to improve mpg and performance. After owning a noisy vehicle for many years, interior noise is now a deal-breaker for me, pushing me toward a Mazda 3 Hatch.
Buying a 1st generation car is usually not the best idea I guess. I leased my new CX-5 recently and while I wasn’t thrilled about buying the last year of my generation because the looks will change soon I guess, but this thing has No Rattles. Because of course a manufacturer has some time to improve their cars if they care to.
@@bryanx590 you are wise too! I drove the 2020 Civic and almost made a deal on 1 but I have spine injuries from a car wreck and it’s hard for me to pull myself out of a sedan. I went shopping for the Mazda CX-5, it sits up higher of course and I was able to get in & out without trouble so I leased it on June 21. I don’t have any regrets and so far there are no bugs. I have 4100 miles on her now. I’ve had Mazda’s previously and never had any problems with them either
@@bryanx590 oh you can get different interests rates depending on the lender. If you credit is good enough for zero then you just negotiate the car deal then when you get into finance office just have him connect you with the lender that will give you Zero. Manufacturers do change their interest rates every month usually. It depends on how well cars are selling. Supply & demand affects rates and discounts as you know. That’s odd that the Mazda dealer doesn’t have their own service department since that’s where dealers make all their money on service and parts. My guess is that Mazda has a deal with Lincoln for some reimbursement for service work done on Mazda’s. Especially since Mazda warranty work would go to Mazda dealer as a reimbursement under normal arrangements. Interesting circumstance. Who is the dealer that does that? I work for Mazda so I’m curious.
We have a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats in Canada on the Touring. We also only get the 1.5T on the Touring. All other trims get the 2.0…that’s why I ordered a Touring. Great video.
I've had my 22 Civic Hatch EX-L for a few weeks and I have the exact same infotainment rattle. It goes away with the slightest pressure on the top of the screen, as you described. I think I have the same rattle from the passenger side but I haven't been able to isolate it. What's this about putting some tape on the seat belt buckle? I'd like to try that.
Just because someone needs extra lumbar support (for whatever the reason is), they shouldn't be required to change cars. On the top Touring trim, there's no reason it shouldn't come at least as a manual lever. Lumbar pillows or rolls are annoying to add to a car and just aren't the same as built in support.
@@PrimeAutotainment thank you Nolan. Absolutely 100% accurate on this $30,000 vehicle. I might expect an inferior brand to get skimpy but not a Honda. But they did. I believe they will fix this issue and add lumbar in the next year or two.
So you don’t care about loud road noise, great ride/handling, space, unsupportive seats, good sound systems…among other things? Can’t imagine that would be a very good prank..
I have a Ex model and I wish that it was like the touring model with Xm radio and what I don’t like is the auto shut off when you park or sitting in traffic and the engine shuts off and it turns back on when you drive you have to turn off the switch every time to prevent it from doing it first one I ever had in the car and I never liked it otherwise I enjoy the rest of the car
Effing Canada! Pisses me off, they always get all of the top of the line stuff in their Civics. Not having a heated steering wheel in a top touring trim is unacceptable!
3:11 That horn is classic Honda. My father's '81 Accord 2-door HATCHBACK has exactly the same horn tone. That was standard across all Honda's up until the last generation Accord when Honda started using American-style horns on their bigger cars.
The road noise is definitely a bummer. I mention it just as a comparison to some other compact cars. If you're considering one, drive it yourself on some different road surfaces and see if it's reasonable to you
@@PrimeAutotainment Man i just Got a F-150 Platinum a few months ago. i still watch stuff on other vehicles. Im not gonna buy another car, but prolly something like a maverick or used small truck like a older Tacoma\Frontier type deal or little used SUV as a local run around & Home project car. i still watch reviews alrigjt😉
I agree about the horn and noise. I bought my honda civic sport last nov 26,2021, 2 weeks ago only and I heard a annoying noise when my car park with engine on. I will bring the car back to honda dealer this weekend to complain about it.
I just bought the base LX model and not really more noisy than my previous civic coupe 2018. I have 16 inches wheels so i have more rubber so less noisy.
I’m waiting for the hatchback. I own an 18 hatch which I love. But we just bought a 22 odyssey so I’ll be awaiting a few years to replace mine. Maybe si hatch will be out by then. Our mid level odyssey has lumbar and a great horn! Why did they cheap out with civic!!
I don't know what type of tires he has on there but my '22 Touring is very quiet. It's one of the first things I noticed was how quiet it was. No rattles either. What cars in this segment have ventilated seats?
I'm glad it's quiet for you! I'm comparing it to other compact class cars and it's decibel ratings are higher than most. Ventilated seats can come on the Elantra and Forte
Hey Nolan I really think Honda Nailed the interior Design on this. Like you for the touring model at least offer what all the other makes in this class offer. No Lumbar in 2021 is just WRONG. I still remember mom and dads 1981 Subaru GL Wagon with Lumbar. I use to think it was a pain in the back LOL. But 1981! Road Noise is another Biggie for me. We live in a world almost all cars are well insulated. Road Noise is very tiring on long trips. I am sure this is a super fun handing car. Back in 2007 I Bought a new Civic for a change of pace and loved the handling of it. One of the main reasons I bought it was gas prices were approaching $4 a gallon and the Civic claimed 30 City and 40 HWY MPG. In 2008 the new MPG standard came out and the Rating dropped 25 City and 35 Hwy. Same car. The car I traded got 33 Hwy and 20 City for Full size. That made me see red for the lack of HP compared to the car I had. Looking forward to your Next Feature Presentation Nolan
I do too! They simplified it yet kept it very practical. The lumbar and road noise is a big bummer. A lumbar pillow or roll just isn't the same unfortunately. Thanks for stopping by Gene, I always appreciate it!
Just bought one of these. Your complaint about the lumbar support doesn't bother me. And idk if it's just that I haven't driven the car on long highway trips enough yet but I haven't noticed any rattling or highway noise.
Yes. i agree. Honda refuses to offer heated steering wheels in the civic and I demand answers. It's almost a must have in Colorado from September through May (winter months)
So many reviews gloss over the obvious faults of cars. You don't, and that discloser revealing what's screwed up with these modern, overpriced contraptions is very valuable to know. These companies need to be called out when they cut corners to make more profit. It's motivated by greed, obviously. Your approach is refreshing and informative... essential really so don't change a thing and keep telling it like it is!
I do understand the need for lumbar support. The road noise can change with the better tires. Honda usually have good horns 😂. I really like the new Civic a lot.
Daaaang you still call it a Compact Car?? Trust me this new civic its to big for Asian market and btw can you tell me for turning radius, how many meter?? Thanks
Yes i agree the lumbar adjustment should be in this trim level, that would be enough for me not to buy one due to my long driving and back comfort. That is way more road noise than my 2014 Honda Civc Sedan. This one is now off my list, too bad.
1. Side blinkers should be more visible (I know there are the mirror lights) but still the front and back should flash. Also rear should be brighter. 2. Volume nob should be larger and would be ideal to have a nob by the shifter/ cup holders where your hand rests. 3. And ya the no lumbar is a deal breaker Everything else looks the bomb
Got the 22 touring in all black and my only dislike is the damn screen keeps glitching!! It turned off completely in the middle of my navigation, any suggestions folks?
Dang sorry to hear that. The glitching is new to me but I would recommend taking it back to the dealer or your closest Honda place. It's under warranty so it should be fixable.
Where did you find a 2022 Touring in black? They're like unicorns in my area (OH). Only silver and white nearby. There isn't a black one to be had within 100 miles of my location, I checked. Irritating as hell as I have financing prearranged but apparently I can't spend it.
@@bulmanwj yeah, i went to hell and back to get mine especially since a lot of dealerships that had them in any color was selling it for over MSRP, my best advice for you, if you can’t find it anywhere is to try and see who will have some coming in and buy ahead of time, but test drive a different color like I did
I’ve just purchased a 2023 Civic Hatchback Touring. I came from a 2021 Mazda3. I really love the Bose stereo BUT why on earth did they choose to use a terrible sounding speaker behind the touch screen display for navigation / CarPlay voice prompts? Mazda would route all those voice prompts through the stereo speakers but Honda chose to use something that sounds like it’s coming from a 1970s transistor radio. Oh and I find the seats very uncomfortable. For the price I paid for this car it should also have auto dimming side view mirrors and one touch up/down rear windows. Just sayin…
I'm an Accord fan. Just copped my '21 Accord Sport 2.0 a couple days ago. Came from a 2010 LX. I couldn't be happier. I did try testing a '22 civic touring and I noticed about everything you pointed out too. It's pretty loud and has a ton of rattling. I've never really been a Civic fan b/c of how tiny they are. All that's wrong with it tho shouldn't exist on a touring trim. That's messed up.
"copped" ? What does that even mean? Is that some cutesy new age millennial word all the little kittens on the block are saying these days to stay hip, cool and copped out with a lollipop?
I want an accord touring but i really wish it had the same Bose audio system the civic has. But now that you mention about the rattles, I’m really starting to think on buying an accord
Honda made their car boring but good enough to keep you going. The competition are trying to give you luxury and more stuff to make you enjoy it but beyond that they are no Honda. But i definitely like your review and it is very honest.
Got my 2022 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback October 2021 and its been great! Cons: 1. The radio - plug in any USB-C - HDMI then what is in the owners manual said and it will do a continuous reboot of the display. Very annoying... 2. I would have nobody in my rear seat and the sensor would tell me I have somebody in the rear seat (ghost?) and their seatbelt is off. After sitting in it and plugging in the seat belt a few times it never came back. 3. Gas tank is only 13 gallons. It gets great mileage so it makes up for it. Pros: Lane assist, auto breaking and cruise control combo makes me feel like I'm in a Tesla. haha Looks sporty and stylish. Tinted windows made it even better looking. Smooth ride and good gas mileage! Went from LA-San Diego-LA- East LA with one tank of gas on ECO mode.
I like that you mention where they cut corners and cheap out on the car. The horn sounding like something better suited for a Big Wheel is not only embarrassing, but could cost you your life. As far as the lumber issue, my opinion is that the seats look kind of cheap, the fabric looks chintzy, and they look a tad short which for a taller guy like me which means lousy thigh support. I sat in a Sentra and liked the seats way more and they felt more substantial and supportive. They tout the large greenhouse, but the windshield and side windows are still not big enough, the belt line not low enough and the fast back rear glass is like having no window at all, practically. Can't somebody make a car without this "fastback" design? All it does is cause horrible visibility and create the possibility that taller back seat passengers will be mashing their heads into the roof of the car. There is NO excuse for the car having so much road noise, even on the base model. This is a Honda Cicic, not a Chevy Spark! The car is almost the size of the '03 - '07 Accord, but this is America where the people keep getting bigger every year and can no longer fit into cars the rest of the world fits into easily. Like just keep buying bigger clothing, just keep buying bigger vehicles and problem solved! Personally, I would not buy a car with a CVT, but since most people don't even know what a CVT is, and couldn't care less about a cars performance and driving dynamics, it's not an issue for 99% of the population. In conclusion: visibility is ok, but could still be better, the road noise is an epic fail, the car is no longer compact so lets stop referring to it as "small", the seats, both front and rear look like something from Dollar General, the cloth fabric on the arm rests and center armrest looks like it will be worn out and ripped to shreds after a couple years, the horn sucks and is a safety hazard, a CVT transmission hardly makes for an exhilarating driving experience, and that laptop sticking out of the dashboard looks like hell. Otherwise the car is ok but if they addressed these issues it would be superb. Honda is capable of offering a superb car but they know that most people are just fine with "good enough" so they cut corners in the pursuit of the Almighty Dollar.
Yes I test drove a 22 Honda Civic and I did notice that it was noisy inside I think it was even noisier than my 2019… Is it really true that changing the tires will make it quieter…? Or is that just an idea does anybody know for sure Thanks let me know.
The touring trim has a heated steering wheel. At least in Canada. Also the back seats are heated on the touring trim as well. I bought a 2022 touring civic a couple weeks back.
@@dream431ca that must be it. It would be even more handy with the more frequent colder weather. That’s the primary time I check the tires anyways so it’s still odd lol
My 2017 Touring Civic Sedan just had the AC compressor, condenser and evaporator fail all at once. They all had to be replaced at 78,000 miles. Honda did pay the vast majority of it, so it only cost me $503 out of pocket.
Within the first month of ownership the entire engine cover came off on the freeway. Then another piece came off 1 month later. Both fixed at dealership on separate occasions. The air flow lighting has never worked or lit up. I thought that was just the way it was. I was wrong. Taking that to get fixed. Dashboard makes cracking noises when going over bumps. Electric seats make creaking noises when moving. Audio cuts in and out constantly and navigation screen gets blurry and freezes. Averaging 27mpg constantly no matter how I drive. I just don’t understand what’s going on. I have a 2003 Honda Civic with 400,000 miles. I’ve never had issues with that car like this 2022 touring.
They don’t add extra things cause they are pushing people buy Acura. Even tho IMO Honda is doing better than Acura and that’s sad even tho Acura is the “ luxury “ version of Honda
This good to know both the likes and dislikes. One thing I'm curious about is how annoying is the auto stop/start? Is it noticeable at all? Many cars now have that feature. Doesn't it put more pressure on the engine overall to shut off and then start again so often?
It’s a shame isn’t it! The worst part is they are a lot better than they used to be lol. I owners a 2013 Civic LX and on some rough road surfaces…I would be deaf for a while afterwards lol
55 to 65 decibels is acceptable for vehicles going 60 MPH. At 73 db traveling 55 MPH that is like running a vacuum cleaner which is loud and should be wearing hearing protection, especially on long drives. Too many complaints about lumbar support, most vehicles prior to the year 2000 did not have lumber support. Today many low-end model cars do not have it including their highest trim level. The screen rattle is due to not being structural mount properly, simply get it remounted at the dealership. Seatbelt buckles do clank against the interior side panels, use some thin felt material or fix the position of the buckles prior to driving. True, does not make sense to have perforated material on seats and not to be ventilated. A heated steering wheel makes for a thicker steering wheel and possibly Honda thought it was not necessary since it might obstruct viewing or place a heavier load on the battery. Wintertime people should wear gloves, once warm inside take gloves off. Believe Civics sold in Canada get the heated steering wheel and heated rear seats guess Honda cut corners for those in the USA. Yes! horn is on the wimpy side. Oh! no rear air vents for the backseat however, it is a compact vehicle. Sound System is not Premium, just because it has BOSE brand name and 12 wimpy speakers. Yes! a slight improvement over 6 speakers and the standard Honda sound system. The backup cameras just like 90 percent of non-luxury and non-premium vehicles have low-resolution or mediocre resolution. Surely could be improved upon. Non-foldable side view mirrors. Beware of curb rash, alloy wheels are made of cheap material. The OEM Goodyear Eagle Sport AS is more like a summer tire, they are okay, but Honda could have used a better quality and premium tire just like the wheels that are easy to damage. As for Sound Proofing, it's not worth tearing up the floor carpet and door panels. Best to add a Trunk headliner or find a way to place absorbing cloth-like material behind the rear seats which is in the trunk area. Never get the car undercoated with rubber/tar stuff for rust protection as it is a burden for any car repairs. Ziebart is the #1 Worst Place to get rustproofing and paint protection done plus it is very expensive.
My complaint is you have to get touring to get bigger screen in Canada, why not just offer it in tech package. No rear heated seats in touring? Competition offers more. Not sure why wireless charging is a top feature in cars when its $20 probably to add.
I love our 10gen civic touring but I like the infotainment system better on this 11th gen and I also like the wireless charging and android auto. I don't like that there is no rear heated seats though. Also the ac vents are just cool on the 11th gen. Looks like maybe the seats are upgraded a little bit? I'm sure it's still not real leather at that price point but they just look softer to me. Also did I hear that the 11th gen now has blind spot monitoring? I really wish the 10th gen had that. If mine had blind spot monitoring and wireless android auto it would be perfect
Noise has always been a factor/issue with Civic for more than 12 years. Lumbar back support, Honda felt it required an extra half inch less in seat material to save a few dollars. Add some new features meaning sacrifice was needed in other areas to keep cost acceptable to customers. Also more and more cheap plastic everywhere. People who live in snowy regions will hate the Civic as it lacks front-end weight and no AWD, the Goodyear Eagle AS are not great tires should had used Continental tires. Also lower road clearance makes it a good Snow Plow or getting stuck in the snow. The interior design is top-notch, performance a tad better, and exterior body design a flop because they widen, lengthen, and lowered it plus put more plastic on the front grill/bumper. I do not know what Honda is attempting to do. They take one step forward and move two steps back. Truth is, Mazda3 with 2.5turbo liter Preferred model is better and the Bose system is much better in the Mazda3 2.5 S Preferred and has better handling in the snow. Mazda3 is 14 decibels lower in cabin noise too. // update ... the bad as noise at 55mph get 73db, no seat lumbar support, infotainment monitor rattles, perforated seats not ventilated, no heated steering wheel or rear heated seats, very weak horn, The GOOD: Drives and Handles well, back seat and Trunk space, Bose audio, Wireless apple play and android connection and wireless charging. The following gripes have been here for years A) Civic always been noisy, B) when has Civic had lumbar support - never ,C) get cloth seats for ventilation, D) only Canadian sold model gets the heated Steering and back seat - U.S. never got that unless someone went to buy their Civic in Canada and brought into U.S., E) Weak Horn .. this is a new Problem. With New Tech and Improved drivability/handling - all is decent and what we know about the 11th Gen. given that it has high Safety Features. The Bose Sound System is better than the standard audio they once had ... but for some reason does not sound as good as what the Mazda 3 Bose system sounds like. We go back to the Bad that comes down to Noise and a very weak Horn. What is best about the Honda Civic, it is not a KIA Forte which is one of the most unsafe vehicles in America. KIA means Killed In Action, so never get into an accident with KIA.
And don't forget missing puddle lamps, illuminated kick plates, light in arm rest areas, glow around speakers, ambient lighting, light on foot floor mats, probably a little bit more different designed front grill and a brighter trunk light.
Hopefully the latest generation of this model will be better.i honestly prefer the 10th because it looks better where as this looks more identical to the honda accord
yes i agree , i have 2021 CRV EX and i love it , but road noise ? yes i noticed that (my previous car was a Town Car 2008 which has very good road noise isolation) but i got over it since i like the driving style . But in general , Honda should respect it customers and add sound deading material to lower the noise issue.
@@Aaron14LifeZZZ Yes we can say "not really" my problem that i had for ten years driving a very good isolation lincolin town car , so once i switch driving the Honda CRV i noticed the road noise , but don't get me wrong please ! its well knowed that body on frame car has better road noise isolation , in addition , the Hankook kingergy tire that come as OEM with my CRV has bad road noise when you drive it on bad street "harsh" As per CRV facebook group , i got advice to replace the Hankook tire into either MIchilen or Pereele , so the road noise will be better . I advice that you test drive "if available" Honda , Hyundai , and kia so you can decide which one is better ,
It`s a good overall compact car. But the high noise level of the tires and engine (CVT :( ) is what made us buy a Mazda 3. It is so quiet in the Mazda 3 but I will miss the interior space and good suspension of the Civic though.
@@electrosec I got the sedan, visibility is fine. I tested drive the hatch's version and the rear pillars did not bother me. Although I have not tried it on the highway. The blind spot monitor does an excellent job at monitoring cars next to you. If you are worried, you can always add a blind spot mirror :)
Sound deadening/proofing that are installed on the floor and door will make it very quiet like a luxury car (since they use it too) and enhance your audio a lot. You can DIY or let the shop do it for you at extra cost
Dislikes: #1 You cannot set the auto start/stop to stay off, to my knowledge. You have to turn it off each time you start the engine to disable it. #2 No map pocket at the back of the driver's seat. #3 Touring model does not have the aluminum pedals like the Sport, and the upcoming Sport/Sport Touring Hatchback. #4 Touring model does not have dual versions of the stainless steel tailpipe on the Sport. Or Sport Touring Hatchback. The Si should at least have that. #5 Sport model no longer has the foglights, but I heard it is available on back order as a dealer installed OEM accessory. #6 Sport model no longer has the leatherette door and center console armrests, abd now has the cloth ones. #7 Sport Model only has one USB port, instead of 2 on the Touring. #8 The soft horn you mentioned. On the previous 10th Generation Civic, a louder horn was available somewhere online that was and plug in replacement of the stock horn that may fit the 2022. It was not for the Si ot Type are, which probably had a louder horn that was the same, or similar to the the aftermarket one. #9 No venitilated or lumbar support seats, and heated rear seats heated rear seats previously on the Touring as you mentioned. You could put a piece of plywood board on the seatback to provide lumber support, but that's not quite the same. 😜 Otherwise, I can't complain much about the equipment for the price points for the Sport and Touring. My wish list of suggestions would be to offer the Sport/Sport Touring Hatchback with the 200 horsepower Si version of the 1.5L Turbo engine with the 6 speed msnual version. And put the detuned Type R 2.0L Turbo engine from the Accord Sport/Touring in the new Si. Also, put the N/A 2.0L engine and 8 speaker stereo in the HR-V Sport.
So, pump up the volume of that Bose system and voila! cabin noise, rattling touch screen and noisy seat belts are problems no more!
I wish that would make it bother me less🙁
if anything it makes it rattle worse because of the bass lol

Honda really upgraded the suspension and steering. Overall feels more German and solid. Some other nice touches I noticed. Aluminum hood and configurable instrument cluster.
meh i wouldve gotten a 2015+ GTI , quieter, crazy cabin quality, road noise, feels like a luxury car and more practical, and fun to drive
Did you get 2022 Touring?
Given that I'm going from a 2007 Ford Fusion with broken suspension to this, I don't think the road noise will bother me too much lol
Seems like you my friend, should have gotten the touring
You might want to get the screen rattle checked, I have the Touring model and my screen doesn’t do that
Two of the dislikes that I agree is the lack of lumbar adjustability and the road noise.
My hatchback has 60/40 split rear folding seats
I agree totally about the lack of lumbar support. And your comments about the rattle from the display are interesting; I'm not real fond of these iPad-like displays that stick up from the top of the dash -- they look so fragile. It's not surprising that there's a rattle. (I haven't yet driven a '22 yet, none of my local dealers have any in stock!)
They are safer than a screen under the dash.
what does lumbar support mean?
Walk away auto lock has been a thing since 2016 Pilot came out, i love this feature, I don’t know why other brands don’t have it.
No kidding, it's very handy!
@@PrimeAutotainment toyota does auto lock after 60 seconds after you unlocked if one does not go in.
We have the same drivetrain though in this gen.
Can’t wait to hear your quick thoughts. We know the lack of power lumbar is a big deal for many! Me! And you just covered it. Shame on Honda.
If you REALLY need lumbar support, get an Accord. Picky picky!
My number 1 like… driver side room. 6’6” 270# and I fit just fine! Very nice.
How did u get this car? It’s not out where I live yet
Video summing up everything I don’t look for in a car and I find it pretty funny. A heated steering wheel would be great for pranks though.
So you don’t care about loud road noise, great ride/handling, space, unsupportive seats, good sound systems…among other things?
Can’t imagine that would be a very good prank..
Any factory order a honda civic, if so how long it took to get to your car dealership where you bought it at?
Is the Ex-l it’s own trim or is it just the touring trim, I’m confused.
I can't get passed the hole in the floor ans the passenger seatbelt making noise. I have to constantly reposition it.
Effing Canada! Pisses me off, they always get all of the top of the line stuff in their Civics. Not having a heated steering wheel in a top touring trim is unacceptable!
I was mention no driver's memory seat (on Touring trims) and no rear console mounted a/c vents on any trims.
Both would be nice!
I am pondering on getting the hatchback version of this what are your thoughts would it be a great daily driver or no
I have the sport touring hatchback and love it.. Happy I went with the hatch
3:11 That horn is classic Honda. My father's '81 Accord 2-door HATCHBACK has exactly the same horn tone. That was standard across all Honda's up until the last generation Accord when Honda started using American-style horns on their bigger cars.
I have an '18 Accord Sport, and the infotainment screen rattles a lot. I think it's a quality control issue.
Any other issues with it? Engine / transmission, etc...
I have to say you shocked me when you showed how loud it was on the road..interesting.
I agree about the horn and noise. I bought my honda civic sport last nov 26,2021, 2 weeks ago only and I heard a annoying noise when my car park with engine on. I will bring the car back to honda dealer this weekend to complain about it.
Hey man you made great videos!!! Good criticism and not too much ranting/ keeping it concise!!!
Other reviews claim the 18" tires on the Touring trim add to the noise. 17" tires on the EX are quieter and EX is a better buy IMO.
All Hondas have loud road noise. it's almost their charm.
@@t.7527 Not my Civic 2009 :) It is a lot quieter than this new gen.

I just bought the base LX model and not really more noisy than my previous civic coupe 2018. I have 16 inches wheels so i have more rubber so less noisy.
noooo I hate the loud cabin noise. it looked like the perfect car, but that’s a deal breaker.
does anyone know if I can do that in the aftermarket?
The harsh ride, noise, and rattling sounds like my 2003 Civic… it’ll run forever though
Not with a Mexican CVT
My rattle comes from the seatbelt adjuster. Also what’s up with the Bluetooth and CarPlay?
what does lumbar support mean?
I am waiting on my civic ex to come in and it says in the specs that it has a heated steering wheel.
The wind noise would def annoy me
I’m waiting for the hatchback. I own an 18 hatch which I love. But we just bought a 22 odyssey so I’ll be awaiting a few years to replace mine. Maybe si hatch will be out by then. Our mid level odyssey has lumbar and a great horn! Why did they cheap out with civic!!
Hi, you said you can fit rear facing seat behind you, how tall are you btw?
I don't know what type of tires he has on there but my '22 Touring is very quiet. It's one of the first things I noticed was how quiet it was. No rattles either. What cars in this segment have ventilated seats?
I'm glad it's quiet for you! I'm comparing it to other compact class cars and it's decibel ratings are higher than most.
Ventilated seats can come on the Elantra and Forte
@@PrimeAutotainment I wouldn't even consider either of those Korean buggies. Not even close to as nice as the Civic or the Mazda 3.
Your approach is refreshing and informative... essential really so don't change a thing and keep telling it like it is!
you can always sound proof the floors and doors to help with cabin noise
I do understand the need for lumbar support. The road noise can change with the better tires. Honda usually have good horns 😂. I really like the new Civic a lot.
I still like it too! Thanks for stopping by Key!
Road noise is not changing ! Very bad check my shorts
All cars should have a mini train horn
No-one would ever travel to India again.
Daaaang you still call it a Compact Car?? Trust me this new civic its to big for Asian market and btw can you tell me for turning radius, how many meter?? Thanks
I don't know why but some of the touring has heated steering wheel
Maybe try changing all 4 tires to quieter ones in regards to road noise. There should be also AC vents in the backseat in the 2023 or 2024 model.
Excellent Bose sound system with loud car cabin noise...what's the point??!!
First smart response to an obvious design contradiction!
For listening in the garage, I guess!
Yes i agree the lumbar adjustment should be in this trim level, that would be enough for me not to buy one due to my long driving and back comfort. That is way more road noise than my 2014 Honda Civc Sedan. This one is now off my list, too bad.
Perforated doesn’t mean heated. Perforation refers to the small holes found in the seats.
I heard it's only the touring that has the rattling thing
1. Side blinkers should be more visible (I know there are the mirror lights) but still the front and back should flash. Also rear should be brighter.
2. Volume nob should be larger and would be ideal to have a nob by the shifter/ cup holders where your hand rests.
3. And ya the no lumbar is a deal breaker
Everything else looks the bomb
wait does the auto lock walk away not have the chime?
I think you can have it turned off or on.
But i definitely like your review and it is very honest.
the bigger the wheel, the noiser it gets. also, try another brand of tire.
big wheels with skinny tires look good, but there are consequences.
Got my 2022 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback October 2021 and its been great!
Cons:
Pros:
Lane assist, auto breaking and cruise control combo makes me feel like I'm in a Tesla. haha
Looks sporty and stylish. Tinted windows made it even better looking.
Smooth ride and good gas mileage! Went from LA-San Diego-LA- East LA with one tank of gas on ECO mode.
Nice on the mileage
Thx for pointing out the cabin noise. Hate cabin noise!
Honda is capable of offering a superb car but they know that most people are just fine with "good enough" so they cut corners in the pursuit of the Almighty Dollar.
yes, they need to do something , the road noise is too much.
It would be nice if the rear seats had ac vents.
Yes I test drove a 22 Honda Civic and I did notice that it was noisy inside I think it was even noisier than my 2019… Is it really true that changing the tires will make it quieter…? Or is that just an idea does anybody know for sure
Thanks let me know.
Yes, changing tires should help.
Tires do make a massive difference. My 2013 Civic was super loud with Michelin Primacy 3s but is pleasantly quiet with Nokian Wetproofs.
The screen in my base LX model doesn’t rattle at all
The touring trim has a heated steering wheel. At least in Canada. Also the back seats are heated on the touring trim as well. I bought a 2022 touring civic a couple weeks back.

Thanks to your objective video I won 't buy a new generation civic, I have 2017 civic and road noise is unbearable
Want records of all this??? I’d gladly email them to you.
Which country are you brother??
They don’t add extra things cause they are pushing people buy Acura. Even tho IMO Honda is doing better than Acura and that’s sad even tho Acura is the “ luxury “ version of Honda
In Canada, we get heated steering and heated rear seats. So thats a good thing.
Great review, no BS!
This good to know both the likes and dislikes.
One thing I'm curious about is how annoying is the auto stop/start? Is it noticeable at all?
Many cars now have that feature. Doesn't it put more pressure on the engine overall to shut off and then start again so often?
You can turn it off
Maybe the best features are saved for the Si and Type R
Pretty sure both Si and type R have nerfed version of this car when it comes to amenities.
Road noise on the Accord was SO bad I couldnt wait for the test drive to end.
Guys,
Why honda is not solving cabin noise problem. This is the most important thing in a car ????
Give me a comment pls about thid
I love our 10gen civic touring but I like the infotainment system better on this 11th gen and I also like the wireless charging and android auto. I don't like that there is no rear heated seats though. Also the ac vents are just cool on the 11th gen. Looks like maybe the seats are upgraded a little bit? I'm sure it's still not real leather at that price point but they just look softer to me. Also did I hear that the 11th gen now has blind spot monitoring? I really wish the 10th gen had that. If mine had blind spot monitoring and wireless android auto it would be perfect
Yeah it's real leather on the seat inserts.
Yes, the 2022 has blind spot detection. They did away with the passenger side camera for this generation.
Horns are given only to notify other drivers around you, it's not given to disturb others. If someone needs more sound, yeh, he/she can change it.
Exactly…nobody can hear it. Therefore, you can’t notify anyone else.
Does this have side mirror auto fold?
My 2017 Civic is not wide enough to need folding mirrors. My F150 is a different story though.
No
And don't forget missing puddle lamps, illuminated kick plates, light in arm rest areas, glow around speakers, ambient lighting, light on foot floor mats, probably a little bit more different designed front grill and a brighter trunk light.

#1 You cannot set the auto start/stop to stay off, to my knowledge.
Otherwise, I can't complain much about the equipment for the price points for the Sport and Touring.
