    Hey man,
    I discovered you channel by "accident" while searching for garage builds, and i got to say you do a good job! I subscribed and already watched all the vid's. You are growing, but dont let the numbers get over quality, which is something you have. If i may ask, you done 3 cb's and you have a triumph, if the opportunity comes, please do a bobber! Would love to see your vision on it!
    Got a fan from portugal! Keep the good work and quality!

    I used POR-15 to seal the inside of my tank and I haven't had any problems so far. Not sure if you've made a decision on what you'll use but I was/am very happy with how it worked for me.

    So, I"ve got a few things to accomplish with my 79 CB750. Never did this type of work and I'm not sure where to begin. I'll keep this direct and appreciate your direction/ advisement....
    I want to remove and repaint the emblems on the tanks.
    I want to also replace the seat to a bench/ brat style flat seat.
    I will also be looking to remove and clean out the triangle, maybe...I've seen them left in tact, and it doesn't kill me, but I think it's a good design concept.
    The License plate and rear brake light need to be addressed for sure, but I think that will be addressed when the seat is replaced with the loop. I'm in Orlando, no welding experience either.

    just an idea you might want to pick up a v band connector. you can take them on and off as many times as you would like and repeat with no problems. the way that you have it set up is great, the only thing I see with it as the bolts might become loose because of the fact there's no hanger holding the weight of the muffler with a slip joint. and also it might leak a little no big deal. awesome build and looking good.

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback. A V-band would be a solid option.

    What length rear shocks do you typically go with on your CB550 builds?
    I'll be running a very similar seat curve on mine and want to make sure I have enough clearance. (And I'm 5' 7" so don't want to add any unnecessary riding height!)
    Your build videos are a great resource to me, thank you. 🙇‍♂️

    Hey, i just found your awesome channel, and im doing a very similar build. I'm having trouble finding the fuel tank emblems from the internet. Do you have any clues on finding a website that would sell emblems for a 1978 CB500?

    Can you explain your process on getting clear coat on bare metal tank? im having a hard time getting it to adhere.

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used my Contour SCT from Eastwood to strip the paint but you could use a chemical stripper and elbow geese to get the same result. You really just need a semi rough surface for the clear to stick. If your tank is too smooth the clear wont adhere well.

    hey ! i enjoyed all your videos - just wanna say great work!
    is the muffler loud or not ?
    im searching for a muffler that is not tooooo loud but looking good :D
    how is the cb 550 running with this muffler ?

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I think the muffler has a really good sound without being too loud. It runs great with the pod filters and muffler with 110 main jets.

    Hey question for you, have you any experience with getting a bonded title for a bike? how challenging was it?

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't yet because I flip my bikes and bikes with bonded titles tend to sell for less. I have heard that it's not hard just time consuming. If I ever go through the process I will be sure to document the whole thing and share it all here on my channel.
