      it is the goddamn Denuvo man and steam has no choice but to accept it if they want the said publisher to sell the game on their Steam platform.
      Game companies these days have become so lazy and greedy beyond belief and they would rather spend 30% of the budget for a crappy DRM like denuvo and 40-50% for marketing and only actually spend a small amount of time working on the actual product which is the game itself. The fact that people still but up with this anti-consumer practice is beyond me...

      Because the game itself is actually very good, probably sits at the top of remakes the likes of RE4. It's just the technical aspect of streaming assets in and out that causes problems on most pc's, that and EA dropping support by shifting the devs resources to a new project. It's really unfortunate that EA decided to ignore this issue - either that or it's something inherent with the frostbite engine that makes it unsuitable for these kinds of games.

      I recommended it at launch because I thought it was my gpu.
      I'm running it on a 6800xt now and not even 1080p gets rid of the stutter. Callisto Protocol runs like butter at maxed out 1440p because of post launch updates and I average over 100 fps in all the RE games with RT ON. Tellin me I can't get rid of stutter after waiting a year to replay this game and upgrading to a 16 gb gpu and it can't even play smooth at 1080p
      The launch of CP was really bad, I was there for it but that game runs great rn and has the best screen space reflections period. Its otherwise a mid game but at this point I'd rather play that because at least the devs listened to feedback and fixed the stutter. Now the combat actually works even though its mid.
      Dead Space isn't a mid game I hate to see the developers decide that a couple weeks of troubleshooting isn't worth fixing a clearly broken game.

    How are gamers and the media still not classing this as a faulty product. And why are companies allowing these games to launch. It's clear they're broken. Just like any other product 🙄
    I read comments and so many people still play a game with stutter. And make out it's normal. And then i realised the problem of why these things never get fixed. Imagine if i could sell faulty products and the customer never returns for a refund, media outlets never highlight the faults, influencers just laugh it off, and money just keeps coming in
    And so it will continue with all of these games that insult PC's. I didn't even bother with Dead Space remake. I knew these problems would crop up and tarnish my own experience with the trilogy. So i wasn't even going to waste my time with it. This thing about PC games and stuttering is becoming pathetic. I experience it in so many games when it doesn't make sense. And then other games seem flawless
    I will always blame the devs and whoever has to test before it goes through quality control and after. It happens so much. I now wait to see if a game has issues BEFORE i spend my money. And that's on every game. It's my money that's important to them...

      Yeah i think those times where most games are finished at all (not even talking about release) are over. People still pay, most people don't even notice and start to even insult you that you should go to the doctor and the games are fine "on their pcs", while you sit infront of your 2500€ pc with the newest stuff on it and know how to run shit properly and clean.
      Media isn't also talking about it much. We can consider being lucky if Digital Foundry points it out in their videos AT ALL, but that happens maybe once and the games are still being recommended nontheless. I wish it would be like this "hey, before we're talking about the game itself, it runs like crap... so yeah don't even consider buying it". See what Star Wars Jedi Surivor has become.... i would love to play it, but it's unplayable. Doesn't matter if High end PC or PS5, both run horrible.

    • @fafski1199
      @fafski1199 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Well they lost a sale in my case. I bought it just days after it's release but the stuttering issues where so bad at the times, that I simply got a refund from Steam. It's a shame, as the short bit that I played was pretty good other than the terrible stuttering. I had all intensions to repurchase the game later on when all the issues where patched and fixed. However the game was simply never fixed, so I never repurchased it and likely never will, now.
      It's their loss at the end of the day. If they can't be bothered to fix their broken game, then they aren't getting any of my well earned money.
      My advice to anyone on PC, is if a game is broken but is otherwise good, simply get a refund straight away and then wait and see if it ever get fixed. Stop putting up with this BS. Why stick it out with a broken game if there's a very good chance that it'll never be fixed. Simply get a refund, wait it out and then see if it gets fixed. If so then rebuy it and if not, then just like me shrug it off and move on. There's plenty of other games that are worth investing in, after all. It's the only way that these 'hit n' run" companies will ever learn.

When the action heats up and you're by a corridor, it will hitch when you enter. Flat-out pause for a second or 2 walking into larger rooms and enemies spawning behind you for a jump scare. I became used to it a few months back, but coming back and playing now flat-out annoyed me.

You wait six months for patches or in the case of Cyberpunk two years before it's playable. Maybe after this video, EA might commission a small team to go back and fix the microstutering. Besides the stuttering, there's still graphical issues that look low resolution, like specular highlights at extreme angles and what appears to be Z sorting issues from time to time with shadows. The Dead Space remake was the 'burnt bridge' between myself and EA. I hadn't bought one of their games for nearly a decade. When they announced the Dead Space remake, I foolishly believed "Looks like EA might actually be trying to change their ways". So I gave them one last chance. But unfortunately, I was wrong. EA did what EA always does. Two small post-release patches that really didn't do much and then the game was abandoned entirely when it's still full of performance issues and bugs.
    The game itself is fantastic of course. I did my best to ignore the bugs, glitches, and constant stutters. And after a while, I adjusted to them and they weren't really distracting me anymore. I give credit to Motive for doing such a fantastic job creating the game. But EA deserves all the criticism in the world for forcing Motive to abandon the game and move on to other projects so soon after release.
    Anyways, I learned my lesson. No more EA games for me ever again. Good job, EA!

      I haven't experienced any stutters so far, but it could be related to my system. I disabled C-states in the BIOS, turned off the High Precision Event Timer in Windows, and performed debloating using the Bloatynosy app with checkboxes. Additionally, I utilized the Bloatpilot option inside the app, checking the "most hated" items.
      After implementing these changes, my Windows 11 system now runs games that would typically stutter flawlessly, and high polling rates on mice remain stable. One peculiar observation is that initially, I didn't use the Bloatpilot option in Bloatynosy, causing issues with launching MWII and III. However, once I enabled Bloatpilot, the games launched immediately.
      This leads me to believe that a seemingly unnecessary Windows program might be causing significant issues, but it has now been removed. @@ravisingh9953

A month later I got a 7950x3d at launch and was sure that would fix the DS stuttering, bad news again. I’m not saying the stuttering completely ruined the game as I did play through NG+ a few times, but it was the one thing keeping this game from being absolutely perfect.

As much as I hate the stuttering, I think I would have been at a bigger net negative having not played the game at all due to the stuttering rather than powering through it and experiencing the great work Motive did with this remake (so long as it didn't interfere with actually playing the game, like during combat, which 99% of the time it did not for me). THese "consoles" (aren´t actually consoles) work like a PC now. Without any of PC´s typical issues. You cannot use theh same asset pipeline of an Xbox/Playsation, since it wouldn´t support your GPU then. It would ONLY run on that GPU, which they use.
      Shaders aren´t magic.
      There are 2 methods to calculate shaders: One: Being calculated in game, without a shader-cache.
      Or being calculated in advance (Simple shaders) and stored in a cache. Then being loaded each time at start (which takes time to load and thus makes your loading-screen longer).
      Only simple-shader games can have shader-caches. Complex-Shaders which CHANGE each time you execute them in game, require being calculated in game-time. Not wih a shader-cache.

I played the game with pretty much no stuttering at all.

    • @user-in3br2qs8x
      @user-in3br2qs8x 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      PC cannot do same stuff which PS/Xbox does, sir. You aren´t smart enough. You don´t know how it works. No magic "develop asset streaming pipeline" will work to magically fix stutters. Your hardwre is simply insufficient. This shouldn´t be surprising as more and more PC-games today run like ass. and this is because you want to handle more than your "Superhighend-Superduper"-PCc can handle.
      PCs will only have the problem they rely on old, outdated components. It doens´t matter if you clock them at 5 or 10 Ghz. The issue persists.
      PC is simply outdated and requires supporting hundreds of GPUs. Consoles (aka PS/Xbox (or even WiiU if you haven´t heard about this yet) don´t have to support so many GPUs.
      Though if they use same or similar types of GPUs you will (sooner or later) run into similar issues on PS, Xbox and WiiU as well. so there is no magic.

      @@user-in3br2qs8x Ah yes, a 4090 and a 13th gen i9 is "outdated." If top of the line PC hardware is insufficient for this game then maybe it shouldn't be made to begin with. Of course that's not the case, we have more demanding games like Avatar and the new Horizon that run without stutters because the proper care was taken with the quality of those ports. The fact that you're mentioning the WiiU in 2024 makes me think this is a bot comment so I don't even know why I'm replying. Honestly though you can find comments just as moronic as this on the steam forums surrounding this game.

    • @user-in3br2qs8x

      @@ninjabeann WiiU´s processor is faster. That´s why i mentioned it. No PC can even fully emulate a WiiU until this day. And it will allways remain like this, since PC processor´s performance is insufficient to do this. Meanwhile WiiU begins emulating first PC-games (it can actually fully emulate "Steam"`s libraries itself = all Source-engine-games). lol
      You can fully run Half LIfe 2 and even G-Mod on a WiiU today sir. Since WiiU can emulate it in Unity. and Unity is nothing else, than a giant Virtual Machine (which most people today dont´even know).
      And yes, AMD/Intels ARE outdated. You can give them 5 or 10 ghz or add hundred instructions, but that won´t change their giant input- and output-latency or how outdated their design is (from early 1970s). Huge latency in a modern AMD/Intel is bad for handling AI-tasks. and even bad for physics calculating on a cpu. it´s also bad for timing-instructions (such as Java). Why do you think Java was discontinued?
      Which is why more games today try running physics on the GPU instead, since modern multicore-processors are bad in this. With more or less success. This is called "GPGPU" (running physics-tasks on the GPU on the shaders).
      Also remember. This game isn´t the first to run like ass on PC now. ALL unity-engine-games will soon run like that as well on PC. Because Unity doesn´t support running games on multiple cores. And because multiple cores dont´allow you to run AI-tasks well (because of high latency). The more cores you have, the worse your latency will be = the worse Unity will run as well.
      Remember "Cities Skylines 2"? It also stutters heavily on PC. And even "Kerbal Space Program 2" runs bad because of insufficient performance on PC´s processors now (because Java runs bad/slow on modern processors) and KSP requires this a lot).
      The games you mentioned aren´t demanding for the processor. They are simple graphics-shooter-games in Openworlds. Avatar is a graphics-shooter. And Horizon is even a graphics-shooter coming from Playstation, right?
      It´s quite funny, but. The more OPENWORLD your game is, the less demanding on the cpu it is. Quite interesting, isn´t it? and this is also the reason 95% of modern games are taking place in an empty Openworld. Because it saves ressources. In an Openworld you don´t need as many collission-detections (timed instructions). IN an empty Openworld, few NPCs are required.
      Btw. First people have started building WiiU-multi-clusters. They are smart. WiiU does true Raytracing after all. and first people have understood how to use that. Since you aren´t limited to run Raytracing on the processor. You can run all sorts of TIMED Instructions there (Python, Java, ec). Python is a language, which is also being used by AIs.
      WiiU´s processor is good to run endless loops (Such as required to run an AI, a sound-calculation, a weather-/climate-prediction, a space-collission-dection etc).

    • @ninjabeann
      @ninjabeann 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-in3br2qs8x Does CEMU not count as a WiiU emulator? We've been able to run WiiU games at fullspeed for several years. Unless you're talking about shader compilation which is a fair point, but with native PC games they can simply be precompiled (though this requires some level of competence from the devs so that the compilation is effective).
      I haven't seen anything about a WiiU running Half Life 2, G-Mod, or doing "true raytracing". That seems like it would be a feat of programming so surely there's a link you can share.
      Would also appreciate a link about CPU designs being outdated, it's not like we keep the same socket for decades, there's a new socket every few years. If there was really a glaring issue with these CPUs and their socketed design don't you think Intel/AMD would be working to fix that? If it could fix all these issues with PC games, or provide a great performance boost there's no reason not to.
      I don't even agree with open world games being less CPU demanding lol. Sure there are a lot of games that have empty open worlds but there are still hotspots with lots of NPCs where the CPU gets hammered. Lots of those games are not properly optimized for multicore CPUs still, but we can see a game like Cyberpunk with how to properly do it. So it becomes clear this is just laziness/incompetence on the Devs part rather than an inherent issue with CPUs (compare CPU performance of Starfield vs Cyberpunk to see what I mean).
