It probably would've been the piston engine version, with the P&W R-1340 engines, but I wonder when was the very first time a Mallard ever started flying in Australia, they only built 59 Mallard's

why don't you just drive up the beach or boat ramp. Sea bee air and Mt cook airlines in Auckland NZ used beach and ramps
