it's simply amazing to me how this country even exists. It's literally built on small pieces of rock sticking out of the ocean (I almost cannot call them proper islands). And yet, they have roads, airports etc. And it looks heavenly. Thanks for this beautiful trip-report and it's nice to see you have all of your family with you :)

when i worked for one of our local aircraft maintainance companies, i spent some time looking after a local twin otter that would ferry tourists to one of our local islands. LOVE the sound of those twin P&W PT6A turbines running up and humming along in the air. Great to see they also have a full glass cockpit now too...great aircraft and well suited to this role

If you truly want to go, Dream BIG! Write it down, everything about it that you would want to experience. The power of the spoken word is true! Have faith, belief and trust that "it will be so". Start by listening to people like Neville Goddard. The power of manifestation is real. You will manifest things incrementally so that it will reinforce in you, that you are a powerful being who creates your own future. Watch your thoughts, they become your words. Watch your words, they become your actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
And I agree with you, so thankful for this opportunity that technology (via video) allows us to share in this absolutely and amazingly beautiful experience. I utilize these videos to build my manifestation of where I will be travelling to next. I wish to see you standing on the platform, when we arrive for departure! Cheers!

Yes, I have been on a seaplane. I'm from Yellowknife in Canada so we call them float planes. My family took a float plane to a remote lake that is only accessible by plane for a holiday. It is called Fishing lake and that's what we did. We camped, fished, took walks with pans to bang if we ran into bears, and had campfires. Equally amazing but in a completely different way.

Aahhhh!! This takes me back! My wife and I went to the Maldives on our honeymoon in 2000. We landed in Mahle and flew to Thudufushi, one of the atolls. I will never forget the experience for as long as I live. The aircraft were smaller and I remember they were orange but no idea what they were- twin engine gas turbines but that's about it.
The crew banked the aircraft over as we watched a pod of dolphins darting in and out of the surf. Absolutely amazing! If you haven't done this and are thinking of it PLEASE go for it. You'll be glad you did. ❤️

I have flown in seaplanes from NYC out to Montauk -- just me and the pilot. That made me a bit nervous as no one else was with me if something happened to the pilot! Won't do that again! And seaplanes in other parts of the world. It is an amazing way to fly, so grateful for all of my opportunities and aware that most people won't have such experiences.

I had one seaplane flight. not so far-ish from the Maldives on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. A seaplane is a remarkable experience, Do this on a Reef, that's what I call heaven on Earth. Never hesitate and ask locals about things like Seaplane Tours because those companies will cut those who ask for a great on-the-spot deal and make your memories you'll never forget, tourism as an industry needs all the help they can get.

I flew from Kodiak in a de Havilland Otter across the Shelikof Straight to Katmai Refuge and worked on a boat that catered to people wishing to view, up close, Brown Bear and other wildlife. On the trip across we spotted a pod of humpback whales and the pilot dropped down so we could get a close look at them.

We flew to Komandoo island from Male. An American female pilot, when we landed the sea was rough! She said to us, I am going to have a look and attempt a landing, if it’s too rough I will pull back up, please don’t be alarmed. We did land and the aircraft came to a stop in what seemed like feet. They had to make a human chain fence to get us off the aircraft and into the boat which takes you to the island, as the platform, boat and aircraft were bobbing about all over the place! I felt safe though.

Das sind richtige Maledivenpiloten: Barfuß! So war es schon immer. Ich durfte dort insgesamt 5 Wochen urlauben. Es gibt für mich keinen schöneren Urlaub. Jetzt habe ich wieder Fernweh bekommen. 👍

Great video! I have been on a seaplane many times in the U.S. Virgin Islands and I still remember the landings used to scare me. I have never been to the Maldives, but because of you Soneva Jani is on my “Must Do List”. I have not seen next week’s video yet, but I definitely know what to expect.

I fly out to New York via Amsterdam tomorrow morning (covid19 test permitting). It will be the first time I have set foot in an aircraft for almost two & a half years. While my seat on this flight will be more comfortable than the one you were sitting in, the views from your window are without doubt, infinitely superior.

We stayed at Lux North in Aug 2021... Can't wait to we go back... Have not rode in a seaplane yet... Regular boat going, very bumpy...wife got a little sick... Luxury Boat coming back- that was an outstanding ride...barely felt any bumps... Overall, my best trip thus far...
