Yeah, I've been to the US this summer (Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Death Valley and Yosemite) and the USA is really car oriented. There are actually quite a lot of boarded walkways in NZ, just not on that part of the crossing ;)
You hit a lot of great spots in one summer! It's funny how pampered we are over here. We did a few hikes in NZ where they were rated at moderate or even easy and we were absolutely dying by the end of the trail. Those were hikes that would have been off limits in the US were it feels like the government is terrified of anyone possibly getting hurt.
Just ordered some sets of your travel gear for our next trip to Oz as Xmas gifts. Did you make it up to the Bay of Islands while in NZ. Loved sailing and snorkeling in that area.
We didn't make it to the Bay of Islands. We went to Cormondel and started running out of time. Can't thank you enough for your order- We 100% stand behind our products and we know you're going to love the packing cubes. You might have heard me say somewhere else how ridiculous I used to think they were. That's until I used them while living out of a backpack. Now they go on every trip we take.
Thanks for the compliment! Maybe we should start our videos with 50 seconds of begging for subscribers and likes and shares? ;) Thanks for trying to order the cubes. They're available for export, and we're working at getting them into everyone's native amazon stores so it's less expensive for them. Can I ask where commenting from today? (I have no idea what pricing looks like for international orders...)
TIM and FIN I am in Canada. We get screwed on a lot of the good stuff hah! Make sure to post if/when shipping is more reasonable as I would love to check them out :)
Will do! Canada and the UK are first on our list to tackle. You guys have some silly rules in place though that makes everything SO. DAMN. EXPENSIVE. We're doing our best on Amazon US to keep the price as low as possible while still offering something that is as good (if not better) as the major brands out there. For Canada, we'll have to increase the price a bit but still will be cheaper than the Eagle Creeks by quite a bit....
I have loved watching your videos. Really inspiring us to travel. Looking to go to NZ for my hubby's 50th he does not like flying so need to start him off small LOL - if you are ever in OZ again you have to check out Tasmania if you loved NZ you would love Tas!
Well we're jealous its only a short flight for you guys over to NZ! We didn't have the time (or the bankroll) to explore Australia during our trip. We know that's going to be a whole other several month long campervan trip. Will def check out Tas when the time comes. We'd also like to let you know that we contributed to your government with some hefty Visa fees for our layover. Would you please make sure that those fees go to good use? Also, happy upcoming 50th to your husband! Have a great time!
Hey Shaun- We film a lot with a gopro 4 on a feiyutech gimbal but with an external mic attached. The setup looks pretty janky since the external mic has a cord hanging all over the place. We typically zip tie it to the gimbal when we can to "streamline" the look. I agree though- before we started doing that the audio was awful.
www.tongariroexpeditions.com/ Of course we didn't plan it out at all.....just caught a shuttle at the other end of the crossing. There were a ton of them and they were offering to pickup hikers as you finished the trek.
Amazing! The walk down from the top hasn't improved in the last 6 years ;) Lot's of memories! Looking forward to next week :)
We always compared these hikes to what you'd find in the US.....there'd be a guardrail, a staircase, (and probably a parking lot at the top).

Great vid guys, this is definitely going on the to do list for next years visit to NZ. Loved the tribute to Frodo and Sam too :)
Sams the hero of the story- might be biased on that though since I was the one doing the carrying...

You guys are so cute. And I love the Frodo reenactment!!
Yeah, except I had to be Sam to Finneys Frodo. No one wants to ever carry me up Mt. Doom :(
TIM and FIN But when you think about it, Sam's the real hero, so there's that!
Love your videos!!! ;)
Thanks so much! We spend a lot of time editing them to try to bring out the best parts!
I can see that!!! and I am learning from you!!! ;)
Another great video. It baffles me that you don't have more subscribers with such great content. Any more travel plans in the works???
PS - I tried to order your packing cubes but it was charging me more to ship them, than the cost of the cubes. :(

Hi! What date did you do this hike? We'll be doing it on Nov 4th, so want to make sure about the weather.
What a funny tribute to Sam and Frodo.
I can know better understand Sam- It's not easy to hike up the mountain with Mr. Frodo on your back.

Where did you guys park your car? And how does the shuttle works and the cost of it?
