- POUAKAI TARNS | One of Taranaki's most popular walks, the Pouakai Tarns is a must do in Egmont National Park. Located in New Zealand's North Island, the Pouakai Tarns via Mangorei Track is a 5 hour in and out trail to the tarns, where you'll find reflections of Mount Taranaki in the pools. (Unfortunately, we didn't get so lucky with the weather 😅)
Thank you for watching,

Thanks guys! Glad you enjoyed ❤️
You guys are living the dream. ❤
Thanks man, I'm glad you think so 🙈
Cory is nearly sounding like a proper Kiwi again
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Very nice walk ! I love to do that hike !
It was a beaut!!
Another great hike, the wooden boardwalk an ingenious idea, & you could definitely see the changes throughout the trail with the trees. Like here in Scotland just now, the weather is so changeable!! 😲 It’s a pity it got so cloudy for you, maybe next time! Good top tips and as you say, there’s always the hut stay option. Thanks guys ❤
Maybe next time! I’m sure we will be back at some point to reattempt. And with everything we now know, I’m sure we will get a clear view and reflection!

Wonderful to watch this programme📺 while eating my breakfast🥚 this Saturday morning🌄🌅. Good morning🌄🌅, guys: Hope you guys are well.Another really enjoyable video📼📹!The views at Pouakai Hut🛖and the weather☀️🌤️🌡️ there remind me of 🇬🇧. While you were at the lake🤽, the phrase: there's no such thing as bad weather🌧️🌪️⛈️, just wrong clothing👚👣, sprung to mind, lol!.😆😂😆Just out of interest:Why is New Plymouth🌁 called so?
Hahaha yes you’re right, bad choice of clothing perhaps 🤔 I think New Plymouth is named after the original Plymouth…? 😁
Yes. I have actually just done some research myself. It was named after Plymouth, England,as you say, after the first English settlers migrated there.
@@angusrobertsonpianist aha! Now we know! I grew up only half an hour from New Plymouth, it was a wonderful little area to grow up in. Loads of amazing natural beauty to take in 😁
I almost exclusively hike in the early morning because of the cloud issue. I also always put my camera on a clip, but put the strap around my neck as a safety precaution. If the clip fails or I fall, my camera will be safe.
Good stuff, thanks for sharing! Do you make videos as well?
@@cjexploresNo. I only do stills. I am in Japan, so I shoot Mt Fuji (looks like Mt Taranaki). I will be in NZ next month, so plan to head up to the tarn.
@@SV-rr8nb oh awesome!! Yes I remember they used Mt Taranaki as a backdrop for the Tom Cruise film The Last Samurai (pretending to be Mt Fuji) I hope you have clear skies and calm winds when you visit 🙏🏼❤️
