High quality fish oils (brands listed on my site) do not have a risk as they are produced to remove any such compounds. Back int he day, I recommended flax due to possible contamination, but not an issue now with high quality brands of fish oil.

Coconut contains no Omega 3 EFAs, so no. Coconut would never be a replacement for EFAs, especially n3 EFAs.

I differ with your non-bio active opinion with the essential fatty acid Linolenic found in plant based "omega sources" . Besides converting to EPA/DHA, Linolenic acid (omega 3) performs numerous, essential bio-active functions that are essential. Linolenic Acid-LNA, the only "omega 3 " cited Essential. Many studies" are flawed for many reasons & funded by capsule producers.
Retina & Optic nerve are 70-90% EPA/DHA ... The USA would have vision problems if "conversion" was significant.

The omega3 in flax has to be converted, BUT flax is much cheaper than fish oil, so you can easily take more of it to make up for it?

Thanks for this informative video. I've been on flax oil because I don't like the taste of fish oil and don't consume gelatin as many fish oil is capsuled in gelatin casing.
I think I'll go back to fish oil - try to find a good tasting fish oil.

"Linolenic acid (omega 3) performs numerous, essential bio-active functions that are essential"
Such as? List those functions. It's well established the downstream lipids (EPA, DHA, etc) are the bio active lipids period. I take flax and was the first to write about it in the mainstream magazines, so I know a thing or two on the topic. Funded by capsule producers? Is that supposed to be a joke?

I used fish oil for a month for high triglycerides and it made me break out horrifically. I haven't had acne for 15 years!!! So i took a month off to clear up my skin and started the flaxseed oil today. Does flaxseed oil cause break outs too?

I prefare fish oil because the flaxseed increase your estrogen levels and that suck!

I prefer my food from the way it is originally made- by God, nature, universal spirit, how ever you understand it. I like fish, and salmon and mackerel seem pretty high in omega 3 along with omega 6 (which processed foods which in regard seem terribly high. Balance seems to be the way of nature where animal and vegetable foods originate.
Regarding costs, I find eating original foods far cheaper on my grocery bills than what I see filling grocery carts in boxes from processors. Food isn’t my recreation- it is my life source.
