Walmart got me this figure faster than I've ever had one ship to me before. But is it any good? Let's take a look.

There are really only 3 Black Series figs I have been hoping for and never got (all droids): Gonk Power droid, FX-7 Medical droid, and (my #1 pick that have been really waiting for) 2-1B surgical droid. Even if they made a 2-1B in a 3pack with Luke in that water tube, would love it.
Add Death Star Droid to that for me
So much yes. I have a wind up gonk from Disneyland that's filling that void but man an official black series gonk is WAY overdue.

We definitely need a Gonk! I need a Gonky for my Bad Batch shelf!

Did you ever get one of those Bandai model kits of the Astromech’s? Robo convinced me that they would be fun to make and look great. I think I ended up with four or five. One was R2 and another R5. One was a green R4. Another and orange and black R2. I think the last was a green R2? I think. Anyway. They were fun to make and scale great. They look good with these new molds from Hasbro too.
I have the OG r2 and r5 kit. Just recently started on them. Finished r5 but I am trying to repaint r2's dome because I'm not happy with the dull grey plastic.
PRO TIP! the brown plastic "wires" at the ankles are BRITTLE! Use the brown wire from an old cat5 cable. You're welcome. 😉👍
I have an R2 but I never put it together.
@MikeKaess it's fun! But man you need surgeon hands for some of the decals. And I'm 100000% serious about those wires.
I would like to see 2-1B from ESB. And the Death Star Droid from ANH. The two I'd like the most. Thanks for posting.

For a black series figure, this one's near close to perfect. Only thing that I miss is ' lights and sounds 😂❤
Lights and sounds would be neat, but I wouldn’t wanna pay for it. Hasbro would Haslab that for sure.

Hello Mike I just got my R4-6D0 on Tuesday. Mine took two days to reach me, he came via FedEx.
I also thought about Obi-Wan's R4 being an R2 unit, but oh well. I really enjoy the new astromech mold because of the accessories storage and his middle leg that can be pulled out and R4 actually has paint on the front of his middle leg, the other two don't.(R2 and R5).
I also want every astromech that has been released before R2-Q5 and the black imperial R5 from the multi pack that had General Hux. And I'd love them to make an R3 with the clear head dome if it looks good. Of course I'm still waiting for TC-14 and K-3P0 from Hoth.
We still need the Power Droid, FX-7, and 2-1B as well. Just give me every droid.
Just a side note, it's easier if you remove the astromech heads to place the accessories on the neck slots. After you pull the head up turn the head to the left maybe half way and it should slide up and out of the body. So much easier to get the accessories in and out.

Basically the R4 series was meant more for civilians than military and it’s database included knowledge and schematics on most forms of repulsorcraft. However, the Republic military (and thus the Jedi order) were given a variant of the R4 where the civilian vehicle data was swapped for Republic military vehicle data. Basically making it a GAR specific R3.

Yeah I haven’t taken my older astromechs off my shelf yet. And I might not. But I’ve spread them around.

Great review! So cool to be getting more astromech droids! I read in a vehicle cross section book that R4-P17's dome was crushed in an accident so Anakin repaired her with an R2 dome. Wookieepedia says the R4-P units were R2 domed R4 units that were designed for the pizza slice looking Jedi starfighters. Would be cool to see R5-K6 redone in this scale.
