It does! My mom’s leukemia drug was recently picked up by his pharmacy. Her cost went from $1200 per month to $40. And even the $1200 was variable depending on annual policy changes in their health plan. It really helped them retire.

But after a freak case of meningitis I’ve had so many life changing health issues. It is brutal and Nevermind the health challenges but the COST challenge is easily missed until it happens to a person.

Very different context: zoning and zoning laws are a bottleneck for success that the pharma industry doesn’t have. Also, the time frame is different - even if he successfully enforced better policy (which is very hard) and invested a lot of money, the results would only show (nationwide) after a decade or two. Not sure if he has the patience for that.
Hat off for his work with cost+drugs though.

The thing is, even if he does hike up prices later, he improves the lives of so many people now. Getting medicines for a fraction of the money for a couple of months before having to pay the insane prices for it later again? Makes a massive difference, including long term. Worst case scenario someone will need to go back to paying "full price" for the medicine in the future, but that still leaves them better off than if he hadn't started the company in the first place.

I was hopeful the medication I need for my gastrointestinal disorder would be on there. I hope it is soon. I'm in agony cause I can't afford $500+ a month when I only get $800 a month to live on as a disabled person.

I found only one of my more expensive medications. The ones I can afford are ~$175/mth. One medication I can't afford at all, it's ~$250/mth as an injection. If Cuban can make his company work, he will be able to add more to the list. ***Crossing My Fingers***. My SSA is $1608/mth & my rent is $1205, so I feel you.

@@rishavmalveeya Thanks for the information. Which pharmaceutical companies are you talking about? I would have to get the manufacturers' chemical descriptions before buying anything from a country that has no guidelines for the main ingredient. I'm a retired RN, BSN & that's why my doctors didn't recommend buying drugs from other countries, specifically Canada. The medications had the main ingredient but in lesser doses & we had patients wind up in the hospital & even die. We did have one patient, who lived in South America for part of the year (I can't remember which country), whose medication was on par with the USA when it came to the dosage of the main ingredient. His doctor was fine with him buying the much cheaper medication from that country.

@@halibaitor Most of the time, generics are fine for me but there are a few of my medications for which I have to take Brand Only (the generic version just doesn't work, at all) or a more expensive version (I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in all the cheaper choices).

I would like to see what can be done about the massive increases is medical benefit costs and the lack of available services. People are having to make appointments three months out. Many are paying some of the highest prices for coverage and not able to find health care providers.
