    Well that’s two very good and may I say very revenant audio equipment reviews! A great starter audiophile set up just using what you have reviewed so far!🤓.

      This combo and The Buchardt’s are great together and very hard to beat for the price. Thanks for the comment !

      @@hifihometheater - I am looking at getting this exact setup, likely add a Volumio Primo or perhaps go with a MiniDSP SHD Studio and amp combo instead. I would like to have some sort of Room Correction such as Dirac Live 2.0. If going with the Shiit combo, any ideas for adding a great and economical solution, perhaps a standalone Dirac Live unit of some sort? The NAD C 658 (+ a power amp) looks good too, but a bit more dollars.

      I'm thinking of doing the same: 2 Schiit Vidar 2 amps, 1 Schiit Freya+, and a DAC. Teetering between the Schiit Bifrost DAC and the GESHELLI J2.

    Hi. I am thinking of upgrading my old receiver to a 2020 Denon X2700H or X3700. Can I run the Denon preamp stereo outputs to the Schiit Vidar and run a pair of Magnepan LRS loudspeakers and use the Denon remote to control the volume as normal ? Also, in the same way could I integrate the Maggies and the Vidar into a 7.1 system that the Denons are built for ??

    Nice review! I love the Schiit line of audio equipment and want to buy more. I currently have two Schiit Mani preamps for the two turntables and use a Schiit SYS to switch between the turntables. I chose the SYS for switching since I can use it to control the recording level when recording my albums. I currently use the Creative Sound Blaster ZXR soundcard in my computer, but I eventually want to move away from it and use some sort of Schiit DAC and headphone amp combo. Problem is my budget and the best way to do this. I also use a USB interface from the SYS to the interface to my computer.

      I have a Jotunheim Multibit and I love it. I highy recommend it. 😁👍

      @@sbrazenor2 I ordered and will get my Schiit Modi and Magni 3 this coming Saturday. I'm also hoping in the next year buying their Sol turntable, but I'll probably have to sell one or two of my three turntables. The Jotunheim is more than I would want to spend and the balanced connections would be of no use to me.

    I've heard DACS north of $1000 that try to massage the sound, and end up with a boutique voicing, and less desirable than the MODI.

  • @dkerlee
    @dkerlee 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like seeing the three items stacked together - I'm looking at a similar setup for the $1.1k that you mentioned. But you never stacked the Modi on top of the Saga S, does it fit up there? Or will it need it's own shelf? Does the power switch being on the back of the pre-amp bug you? If you leave it on all the time, will it burn up the tube life quickly?

    • @ThePapabear2012
      @ThePapabear2012 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tubes usually last 5000 to 10000 hours. Honestly they start losing something after about a year. I'd plan on replacing them every year or two depending on how much you use it. Leaving it in will shorten it's life.

      I've seen elsewhere that Schiit offer a module called the Loki which is a four band EQ, though I've also read that most audiophiles would just bypass it anyway as amending the true organic mix ruins the original mastering of the audio.

      A/V Home Cool cool. I really liked your first two efforts. They were well done-no pun intended. How about a third vid on the Forte lll’s? I owned an original oiled oak pair from ‘85. I should have held on to them, with what, the new ones sell for!
      I really enjoyed them until I got into the Focal sound with the detailed, “extended” (not bright) metal dome tweeters. I’m into tubes so it helps mellow-out the tweets.
      Anyway, good luck and many of us hope to see some new vids and help build up your channel with another new “sub” here.
