Watching this now is bittersweet, as Neville Garrick is once again in the company of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer. Another shining light in the world of reggae music has transcended this mortal coil.
From a young age, Neville Garrick’s paintings and photographs got me to fully appreciate the beauty and intricacy of an album cover as a work of art in it’s own right. His commentaries and interviews, too, were always among my favorites.
Farewell for now, Neville. Look after the three original Wailers for us. You all are so dearly missed. Until our paths cross again!
    ❤️💛💚🖤

What a kind man. I was shocked to meet him and see the original artwork for Bob’s albums in his studio. I was 23 and just truly a relatively new full on Bob fanatic so it was quite the highlight. He had his spliff behind his ear and he was so patient with we American girls. I loved him for his generosity. Still have my pic…but many years later I saw Ziggy mention him as an advisor to his movie on IG. Excited, I went to Nevulle’s page to thank him, so excited. He was still alive and he literally had died that same day. 💔

Peter was brilliant with his work. And Bob was brilliant with his work. God put them both perfectly on this earth ! Just like Malcolm and Martin. God knew perfectly well that he needed a balance with the freedom fighters.Simplicity!💯🇯🇲

Lighting & thunder....blessings to Neville Garrick, an inspirational artist. I've met him a couple of times & he has always been an approachable gentleman. His artwork on Peter Tosh's "No Nuclear War", Bunny Wailer's "Blackheart Man" & BMW's "Confrontation" are my favorites.

Wow, this was so powerful, give thanks! See my friend and mentor Joe Higgs (RIP) in the black suit and fedora with former PM Edward Seaga his former manager. Joe introducing Bob to Seaga was pivotal in Bob's career. Thank you, Neville Garrick, I have been blessed to perform on programs that you spoke for at the Rasta International Marcus Garvey Cultural Center many years ago with Ras Michael. I have always been inspired by your artistry and apprecialove this honest recounting of the struggle. Enjoyed seeing you at the best shows about So. Cal. You will need tissue for this one. Jammin'!

This Bob guy was something else man. The world is dying for a protest singer like Bob right now, unfortunately it won't happen. There are protest singers but they don't have the poetry, looks, charisma, humility, militancy, and all the intangibles. There surely can't be two Bob's in less than 100 years. This guy was really special. I have studied the guy thoroughly, trust me, he was not a regular human being. He didn't know it himself, but it's quite obvious he was dealing with something super natural. If there is a life after this one, I hope to meet this guy. Unbelievable. And he did it all without acting like a super 🌟. Unlike Tosh who excuse me to say was really just a loud mouth asshole. Don't argue with me please I have studied these guys to the tee. Rip Bob. Rip Tosh, hope you have found some humility wherever u are. You were jealous of Bob. Hope you have forgiven yourself.

Kwa - Your agenda is to cancel Tosh's influence and legacy. Both artists were important, as were Burning Spear, Joseph Hill, Ijahman Levi, Larry Marshall and many more. Wanker... I studied Reggae music for 36 years and have forgotten more than you'll ever know. -Jimmy (King's Music)

@@jmarshall9156 lol. Peter tosh was jealous of bob marley. I never said that, in the after life, bob marley and peter tosh still have a strained relationship, so I am more sure what u are driving at. While they were here in earth, bob become a super star and peter tosh was jealous . When bob died he said " well , that leaves room for someone else to take over". THE WOMAN who narrated this had no reason to do so. She was not famous. There was no social media back then, and she has since not given any interviews. Peter tosh was an jerk. He tried to bully Keith Richards to steal his jamaican beach house. His music, in my humble opinion, was very mediocre. I think the legalize it album was good, however, the musicians were not tight. The production lacked the razor sharp precision of any of Bob's albums including the very early wailers stuff. Even the catch a fire album in 1973 was better produced than Josh's 77 legalize it. He was not as good as say Joseph hill or even stell pulse. Most if his legend is based on his mouth and how revolutionary he talked. But his music did not match his diatribe. Bob was the opposite. He was very friendly cool and didnt find it necessary to go into the Tosh kind of winded speeches of defiance because his music said it all. Tosh knew his music was sub par and so he had to augment it with all those antics. Infact bunny wailers was a far better song writer that tosh was. But we than all three of them a lomgvwith numerous others who developed reggae, which begat dancehall, which begat hip hop, which then teamed with dancehall again to duse with african rhythms to create afro beat. So His contributions are not negated. I am just saying he was jealous person

It is really nice that you are shading some lights on the different between Bob,and Peter Tosh. Because there is a few people useto attacking me when I spoke about, Peter Tosh abnoxous behaviour towards the police. They are saying that I am lying, and the very sad thing about the situation.
Many of them does not know Peter Tosh or Bob Marley, but they are telling the elders who knows the intricacies of both of them. Bob Marley was a very peaceful Rastaman, but Peter Tosh was a very guy he will fight you as the water chilled. The peace concert is over 41 years going on this year as 42years, I remembered very vividly. Keep up the good work, by passing on some vital information to the public.

Just two different characters: Bob was more diplomatic, probably wiser, in the way he dealt with Babylon, but this in no way makes Peter wrong: he was right in denuncing abuse and taking no shit.

I don't think he was. Even Tosh appeared on stage with a jalabia and even a kefia on his head Arab style, but was no Muslim.
To my knowledge Prince Buster was the first Jamaican artist to embrace Islam (the NOI version) and he even built the first masjid in Jamaica, around the corner from his record shop on Orange St. Then the late, great trombonist Nambo Robinson was a practicing Muslim. Nambo's son plays guitar in Chronixx's band, but i don't know if he practice Islam as his father did.

No, his name is Cedric Brooks, one of Jamaica's finest saxsophonist ever. He was always passionately and unapoloogetically africentric, hence his attire. For years he led ensembles that combined jazz with african, jamaican, caribbean and other world music forms. His band 'United Africa' was the first band I ever played in as a flautist. and saxsophonist. He is no longer with us on this earthly plane. He was a rastaman but also a member of the ethiopian orthodox church.
