- Allan "Skill" Cole, Judy Mowatt, Neville Garrick, Nadine Sutherland and Bongo Herman all engaged in a thrilling conversation about the life and legacy of the legend, Bob Marley. #TheBridge99FM
Neville Garrick rip, this is a historic event never to be repeated.
I really enjoyed this interview, Bob Marley is my hero, he is a person I studied closely throughout my life, played his music and imitated him singing his songs till I understood the message, him, bunny and Peter gave us their best interms of awakening our mind, bring truth through music to our generation. Their names will live for ever in the history of great musical prophets. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am 55 years old and I grew up listening to Bob Marley music and it was during the period of our revolutionary struggle in South Africa. His music inspired us.
These hosts think the show is about them but it's about the guest's. We don't care about the host so the host should just ask questions, listen , respond.. conversation is art too. It's a skill
That’s it FAMILY MAN NEEDS TO GET HIS CREDIT FOR HIS PART
Clyde Paul Mckenzie Please could you make this kind of show one day about one of the most admired drummers in the world … Carlton Barrett ! So little is known about him and his story and global impact are really interesting ! 🙏
I totally Agree 10000% !!!!!!
To the host, one, reggae is not just Bob Marley, you reject when the guess tried to talk bunny & Peter, two, when Empress Judy said when Records was sold in the white market, you didn't want to say black, and said urban market, we are not a urban people, were black African people recognize Yourself
His whole interview got on my freaking nerves.
For me - the I-threes really were the Piece on the Master that made the MASTERPIECE!!!!
Cole needs to give the Ladies more credit!
Cole acting as if his words means more than everyone else
He seem jealous
He thinks he's all that.
RIP Neville Garrick.
I didn’t know that Garrick moved on...
This video is very informative i learned alot this is a very deep insight into bob Marley's life and his music
Give thanks for this interview. Really nice to hear all these interesting tidbits
Saw Alan (skill) Cole playing Football at Jamaica National Stadium, Skill was great player..
1964,5,6. He was Jamaica's "PELE" .
Sir,
You must know that your documentaries are classical!
Absolutely awesome!
@34:01 that was nice to tell him. History has been kind to Bob. One of the most beloved artist…
I use his quotes always seeing a cat and a dog getting along I refer to Bob quotes he said if puss and dog can get along why can't we love one another.
They very seldom get along
I like the interview I watch it from start to finish, and I know everyone that was on stage I wasn't a musician but I love music and I can sing very good..I Nadine, I know when you first went on the talent show I grew up in the cross road area not too far from the Carib theater ...thank you..
One thing I know is that Bob gave handouts on a regular basis. He gave enough for someone to start something. Bob literally supported thousands of Jamaican families.. I also know he left his will open, He did this to see who the real prophets are and today we can see that they have truly exposed themselves . Furthermore, Bob paid himself the same amount as every bandmember.
It is so amazing to be a west Indian when speak of the legend bob
Bob took 50% and the other 50% was split equally by the rest on the band. Even this made The Wailers quite rich by Jamaican standards at the time.
Thanks for the insights. Much respect to all🙏🏽🇯🇲
Awesome interview
Respect Family man 🇯🇲
Great conversation from the brothers and sisters. My question 🎉 when are we going home. Said the Bible in fathers and mothers palace are many opportunities. With love from S/Leone. Land of iron ore, gold, diamon and titanium and more
Good job! Thanks Clive
Nice documentary ! Very revealing. If they suppress bob music, imagine peter tosh ! Lol !! Peter, bob and bunny d best ! Exodus, equal rights and blackheart man. Albums of the twentieth century. All released 1977.
This bredda love run him mouth and listen to him voice 😮
Good interview
Yes Nadine the Mix! Up to this day this day better . Yeahman dat is true
Bob Marley is my musical idol,am always eager to listen to everything about him. His legacy endures not because of his exploits as a musician but the philosophies espoused through the reggae genre which promoted Rastafarianism to a wider audience.
I doubt you really listen to Bob. If you were you would never use the word ISM in RASTAFARI..
Listening to the conversation about Bob Marley,I know him from on the streets like out by Parade at Randy's records shop but. I been listening to the group from in the 1960s, as the Wailing souls and. I know that man like Alton Ellis, Derrick Morgan and Prince Buster, was way ahead of Bob Marley and the wailers. I remembered when Derrick Morgan sing the song for independence august 6 th 1962 ,then him and Prince Buster clashed in the 1960s . All those early years in Jamaica,Bob Marley was the wailers wasn't rated in Jamaica at all. When you listened to all of the argument about Bob Marley,he was not rated in Jamaica all those years. When he was alive, also the wailers only the ghetto people recognized Bob Marley and the wailers but. The upper class people them, didn't respected him at all. I useto go up into Trench town before he was forced by the Jlp party government ministers them,he and the wailers. When Bob Marley was living in Bully Bay,it is when Bob Marley dead, the jlp party government ministers them started to recognized him. Because of the amount of calls they were getting from all over the world, but they didn't rated him at all. I was wondering why Marcia Griffiths wasn't called to the meeting, because she have more information than Nadine Sutherland. Because he is a child just born the other day,Marica Griffiths like myself can talk from in the 1960s. Where we can talk about the foundation members of the history of the Jamaican music fraternity, like man like Harry Belanfonte was the first Jamaican to recorded a song in Jamaica. In the 1950s it was called mento music ,I remembered in school in the 196os. I was in the dance class and,it was Harry Belanfonte songs them they used in class as folks songs.I also remember the original man who was recruiting the singers them in Jamaica, was Vere John opportunities show. Most of the upper class people in Jamaica, only recognized Bob Marley since he died. Some people knew Bob Marley very late, they didn't know when he was struggling in Trench town in the 1960s. There is a lot of Jamaicans back in the early 1960s was a pioneer, for the Jamaican music fraternity in foreign countries. Like Millie Small my boy lollipop 🍭 was one the very first big hits out of Jamaica,Alton Ellis, John Holt, Pat Kelly, Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, Roy Shirley, Derick Morgan, Jimmy Cliff, Boris Gardner, and the list goes on.
Such gems frim your guests.
You should have pre-recorded, allowing them to speak extensively....then edited down for content.
Bc there are times when your guests are sharing important details that you need to capture while their memories are intact and they are alive to share this special information with the world.
RIP Neville 😢
When did Neville pass 🤔
Big up Neville Garrick and Àlan Skill Cole
Peter tosh was my favorite !
Keep it to yourself! We aren’t on about Peter the Great now...
Great to hear those story's
More of this please.
Judy Mowatt is she OK?
I see no hair?
Her hair is under the cap 😊
@@writtenbyraymildo8557No its not. She has no sideburns, nothing.
@@michelrood2966 She's not bald. Her hair is actually hidden under the cap. If you look at the behind from her neck, you'll see her hair 😊
She cut her locks she converted to Christianity
Rip Neville Garrick
I am watching in Toronto Canada , and went to all three shows, the panel on this show is correct on the venue but the person who booked the venue should have have more experience on the booking, the first show I went was at the Massey hall 15,000 capacity the hall was full to capacity and about the same outside, he was promoting the Natty dread album, second concert was at Maple Leafs garden about 30,000 capacity full house but the sound wasn’t great, third show was at University of Toronto capacity was about 5,000 great show , venue was too small there was about 4,800 white people and 200 black , there was about 20,000 black peoples outside so they break down the twenty feet double doors, so the concert didn’t started until about two hours later, but it was a good show, what a great artist and the band proud to be a Jamaican and his music lives on.
Boy the EGO with these men!!!😂😂😂
Typical 😂
What’s up with Skill Cole insisting on calling Bob Marley Crazy! And repeating it over and over!!! #LoveSign
Why didn’t they turn up the microphone for Allan?? When the Host speaks I have to turn down the volume then turn up for Allan!
#lovesign #Maranatha
@sandybradshaw. Maybe you should get yourself new hearing aid or stop focusing on the men's "ego" you'll probably hear something.
Yes Skill your truth is your truth 💯💯 knowledge affi spread BUN A SECRET
@furiousJa. Seems as if Cole benefited from Don taylor overcharging & pocketing money, Maybe Bob should've kick dung Cole as well, sitting there talking bout Don like he's the best thing since sliced bread.
If it wasnt for Nana Rita all a dem woulda bury Bob. Dem can talk now but who put in the work and fight for his legacy, Nana Rita and she made sure the children grew in the business, went to school, got trained, then they could take over.
That long term memory...😅😅😅
Good afternoon it was awesome. Awesome very great. I would like you to make like you know article or something a picture or something that you know something we can buy it and listen to them you know that would be great. Thank you have a great day.❤
love
Why are you all afraid to say that RITA was the one with the BUSINESS SENSE?????
They don’t wanna give the woman her flowers
@sandybradshaw1879. Well no wonder her net worth is like that today, where are the Bob Marley school, or hotel etc ? Bob died young, he would've built them if only he was still around, & we know money still being made off Bob's music, so much for rita's "business sense."
There is a school on jamaica named after him and also a small hotel in Bahamas which I think was his holiday home that is run by Sharon I think.
@@nasimaali9646NO they don't! cause they couldnt control her!😢
Nana Rita fought for and built Bob legacy! They can talk now but if Rita was like them there would be no Bob's legacy to talk about! Pure egos!
The host talks too much
The women calm down the near argument between the other two guys😂
What was Allan "Skill" Cole's role in the band, other than just a special friend of Bob?. Was he responsible for sound, lightning or what? Most of us Jamaicans of a certain age knew "Skill Cole" as just a footballer . I personally was not aware of his other professional qualifications. I would like to be educated on this topic, please.
He was Bob's close friend. He also was not "just a footballer", he IS Jamaica's greatest footballer.
I was the house photographer.
Is there anywhere we can see your work?

Greetings giving thanks to the most high god, Jah Rastafari...just making a point to the question of audiences, we need to understand back in the day the paetrons of black shows would never pay for a ticket before the show, most time you would arrive to a show to hear the artist don't turn up because them never get their work permit. and where shows are promoted it's not in the black communities we didn't look through Time Out to learn about shows, and so as was said by the time the black community learnt of the show tickets many times were sold out.
Skill Cole needs to talk into the microphone....
I doh wah hear him
I AM RAS CARDO-REGGAE CREATOR WHO HAILS FROM TRENCH TOWN.I DO NOT SEEK ANY AUDIENCE WITH ANYONE TO PROVE MY HISTORICAL LIVITY AND TEACHINGS OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THOSE TRENCH TOWN DAYS. JAMAICA DOES NOT HAVE WHAT I/WE HAVE IN OUR REGGAE HISTORY. THOSE WHO DARE TO CONTEST US WILL MOST ASSUREDLY SEE THEIR MISTAKE. TRY IT!!
1:24:00 Thorold Demercado
The moderator did a poor job. Terrible..... so much more could have been learned about Bob from the panalist had the conversation flowed ..
??
its dissapointing that Clive didn't even seriously wntertain any discussions about the Peter and Bunny. Neville coild have really gicen some insight there. especially with the fact that Bunny despised Chris Blackwell. can't polish the truth. Big up sister Judy
The host should calm down. Mans let the guests talk
PETER TOSH is the best thing
@glendoncidling1012. But Bob was, is, & will ALWAYS be the *GREATEST.*
Bad host
If this were a football match, the score would be Hast: 10, Guests: 3, By all means, pose questions, but allow guests to respond. The host is too front and centre, both visually and vocally. Don’t ask leading questions, or attempt to reshape or interpret the responses. You have credible storytellers, and we, your wider audience, can digest the material.
Peter TOSH only.
@ngwanindi. You really came here just to say that ? Peter haven't done half as much for the people compared to bob, go take a nap.
THiS BOMBOCLATH BALD 👨🦲 BOY A TRY DISRESPECT Peter and Bunny just like JBC and RJR back in the day😮
