We don't like immigration agents - the ones' that aren't authorized by ICCRC and qualified to help you with your application in exchange for money - first of all, it's not legal to do that, and second of all, it's so easy that you don't really need paid help! We are a young couple who started their Canadian Immigration journey in 2018 and moved to Canada 3 days before the pandemic hit in March 2020. Over the course of our application, we have seen so many people getting screwed over by greedy / fraudulent and unauthorized immigration consultants who promise you the world in exchange for thousands of dollars and deliver a whole lot of NOTHING; to an extent that in many cases, the applications get rejected, due to their negligence.
Therefore, we are taking matters in our own hands. After months of research and our own experience of applying for a Canadian PR, we came up with an e-book series & this TH-cam channel which would include - errors to avoid, perfect sample documents (my own) and alternate ways of immigrating to Canada - 100 pages of absolute goldmine between these 3 e-books - no filters, no premium versions to these ebooks... everything is out there FOR FREE, for you to read and execute the process yourself! All we are doing in these ebooks is sharing our experience of applying for PR ourselves / structuring and pointing you in the right direction via various different resources that are available on IRCC's official website. The TH-cam channel will compliment the e-book and add some personality and entertainment to the entire process :-)
Volume 1: Step by step express entry process from know nothing about immigration all the way to getting an invitation to apply (ECA, IELTS etc). Download here - www.potatotalkies.com/

I just came from Ontario - Mississauga. I'm looking forward to see how the winter is. But so far we're enjoying the change. No more high risers, nice house scenery, cleaner side walks where I am currently (had bad dog poop issues in Port credit).
And of course.. the coat of living.

Been in yyc over 30 years now and agree with you on the infrastructure not keeping pace with population growth. Stoney trail has helped but our public transit and existing roads need a lot of work. With harsh winters there are way too many potholes in the roads after the thaw. We can call and report to 311 to have them fixed but it takes time sometimes. I am glad you said you would come during winter. It is not scary but definitely different than Ont and worth experiencing for yourself before making any decisions. We do get a period every winter (usually in Jan) where we have up to 1 week of -40 weather. Of course most people across Canada are used to being indoors a lot during winter so it would only impact you for a few minutes at a time (bundle up).

Having spent 3 years in GTA and just over a year in Alberta (Edmonton). My two cents -
No argument in terms of - Real Estate, natural beauty and affordability in general, if you have a remote job or doing a retail industry jobs - Calgary, Edmonton are worth considering.
Weather - This winter was bad, really cold. While I agree there are more sunny days a year but believe you me if it’s over -20 C, sun doesn’t really matter a lot ! Road conditions are terrible in winter so if you are driving everyday may be it’s a little risky ( Roads are not cleaned as regularly as in Mississauga/ Brampton).
It’s Edmonton, I am taking about not sure about Calgary though.
I feel, Calgary is more happening over Edmonton.
Between two major AB cities- Calgary would be my recommendation.

Mine and husband's whole family lives in Alberta and we live in BC and drive/fly to visit them. You can do same. Also, just because your family lives in Ontario now, doesn't mean that they won't move to Calgary eventually. Keep up the great work Simran and Navjot 👍🙏😀

Our Vancouver & Surrey surroundings are extremely beautiful, Mountains are all around the cities, beautiful lakes within 30 mins drive, A lot of 1-2 days trips to Victoria, Whistler, Kelowna, Tofino & many more places, No doubt, Alberta's Banff & Jasper are No1 in Canada, But u can only enjoy 2 months of summer, But British Columbia is mostly enjoyable at least 7-8 months of the Year , I live in Centre of Surrey, but I can see Mountains from my Balcony, Little snow shelving ( 3-5 days a Year), Yes ITs rainy but better then snowing & mild summers, We never needed AC, not to mention Banff is just 10-11 hours drive from Vancouver. Yes, It is extremely expensive But for a reason. Come & Visit Vancouver, I'm sure you r going to love it.

Born and raised in Calgary. I would say the biggest con of living in Calgary is poor alternatives to transportation. We are really behind on bike lanes and public transportation. The city's population is not that big but it's very large and can take about an hour to get from one end to the other. You will need a car to live in this city.

I can see that Simran really liked the nature and torn between the decision to move and family. I'll make your decision easier. I've lived in Edmonton for 3 years, I've live in Ottawa, GTA and Northern BC. While Calgary might be good city and the natural beauty is awesome I chose to move back to Southern Ontario near London cause you get a lot of small and big centre in southern Ontario. In Alberta there are only 2 big cities. If you see on Southern Ontario there are a lot of bigger cities very close to each other. Let say in future if you have to start a family and kids want to go to college you'll find a lot of options in southern Ontario. So kids will still stay close to you. It's close to USA too and a lot of population is just on the east coast. It's easier to get a job here I think.

I soo agree with Simran on the con! We too have family in the GTA. I feel we moved once, leaving behind family and friends once. It's really hard to do it all over again and build a new circle of friends.
Me and my husband have been living in GTA for the last 2 years. Don't like Brampton anymore - its becoming all those reasons that we left India for (break-ins, theft, drug menace, no sense of traffic rules, etc.; and the list is growing)
So, we went to Calgary and Edmonton in March. Just to get a feeler. Came up with a similar list as yours. With one added con - lack of convenience stores and essential amenities in newly built communities. There might be booming businesses in the future. But for now, if you are in one of the new Neighborhoods, you have to travel at least 10-15 mins to get groceries from your store of choice.
So, yeah, looking forward to seeing your experience in Calgary in November 😀

    Hello,
I watch your videos regularly. Appreciate your work. I’m a BBA Human Resource graduate from India. I’m planning to move to Canada for 2year program. Could you please suggest which course/collage/university would be suitable & also the Human Resource job market, scope, skills to learn during collage days, resume, pay etc to build my career in Human Resources management. Thank you. 😇

Just wait till the oil goes down due to climate change and World-class EVs . I have personally seen Property prices fall in 6 figures .In addition to that it's land locked, which means there isn't any USP for this . It's just that the Ontario realtors made it look attractive as it is cheaper for the time being. Fundamentals are always strong when it comes to Ontario .
