I worked Friday and actually had one of my best days so far! I stayed busy for almost 9 hours and made a little over $200! All easy shop/deliver orders pretty much. We went to church Christmas Eve and watched 2 of my grandkids (ages 5 and 3) perform in a Christmas program...cutest thing ever! Just hubby and I at home Christmas day... we're doing our family party this weekend. With just our kids and grandkids we have 20 people now so it takes some planning!
As far as the future of Spark...I think it's going downhill fast. So many people are doing now and there just aren't enough orders to keep us all busy in a small market. I have a friend who has been doing it full time for over a year and was doing great until a couple months ago. She told me the other day that she's probably going to have to get a W2 job to keep up with her bills. She was making $900-1,000 a week and now she struggles to make $500 working a lot more hours. I hope it gets better!
I do a full 40 now... For Christmas, I got a new receiver and hitch... And.. I quit my w2 pizza job of 17 years, new owners have purposely destroyed the business, they've changed the recipe they changed the prices they've done things that the people do not like and so the people have stopped ordering, so I'm making more money doing this then I am at the job that I loved for the last 17 years, I'm going to miss all the customers that I have been to for years but I couldn't do it another day the old owner was contracted until this March I told her I quit and she hasn't spoken to me since, so now I am a full-time spark delivery driver making almost 1,000 a week
$1000 a week is awesome! I see a lot of folks that say that’s pretty average in bigger markets. I think I could swing that here, but I’m not sure I could do this full time! Too many eggs in one basket!
@@Missippidashing I am putting in a lot of hours to do that though, I turn the app on at 6:45 to get the first orders of the day, and then I'm on until 11:00 and if it's good I restarted it and I'm on till 2:00 and then I'll get something to eat somewhere in between and then I'll stop for a couple hours to let the general merchandise or just go through come back in the evening and get more orders and then go to bed at 9:00, but when I decide I've had enough I can take a day or two off and not even have to worry about where I'm going to have any money
Unfortunately I see spark going nowhere but downhill. Factoring in the incentives, base pay has gone down at least 50% since I started about a year and a half ago, the amount of "new customers" they bring in will be offset by the amount of people they lose because of the bad drivers that riddle the platform. Drivers that just don't care, have multiple accounts, smoke, are rude, and other undesirable behavior have affected tips for me and I've seen it happen nationwide. Personally I'm trying to get out of gig work because I know the main objective is to deliver these orders as cheaply as possible, shop & deliver base pay will not be high for much longer.
Wow! That's the opposite of what I heard from a Spark driver in SoCal. She's been doing it for 4 years and told me 2023 was way better than 2023. I guess it varies by region, then... I do DoorDash, added UberEats this year, and both apps were awful in 2023. Too many drivers, people are out and about and the economy doesn't help either. I'm assuming if the economy goes down people will not go to restaurants as often and will order more groceries.... I hope that will be the case. Everybody has to eat.
@Katie-yf8cy if the economy goes down... yes everyone has to eat but if they're broke they'll probably just drive to Walmart and pay for their canned sardines themselves... then they will start watching intermittent fasting videos on TH-cam and about how great it is for you, then they eat only 1 can of sardine every 2 days and poop once a week. You'll be there waiting in the parking lot thinking "they all can't be eating sardines and pooping once a week can they?"
Why dont you just charge your phone using a car charger then you always stay charged a portable one just makes no sense unless your away from any outlet for hours on end.
I enjoy your videos and I live in Biloxi....get my groceries delivered and I wondered if you ever go to the Gulfport Art Center when you come to the coast??
I’ll have to swing over there and check it out! I’m usually over in Long Beach or Diamondhead when I hit up the coast. I just followed them on Instagram. Looks like a super fun venue for local artists! Thanks for watching!
I see Spark going downhill. My zone only had one good order on Christmas Eve from 10 am to 6 pm (regular deliveries; there were a few GMDs but none met my $2/mile standard). In the holiday season alone base pay is down 20% in my zone; and 50% from last year. Some orders are still decent especially the Apple store and I have a bit of an advantage I live right over the state line in a tax free state (NH) so a lot of people order delivery from that store and they park themselves at a gas station to receive the order if they don't want to go into a mall.
@@Missippidashing ok thanks I do to I just wanted to be sure there wasn't a better one thank you sir your videos really help me I just started spark in October
Those are historical numbers. Outside that they have no bearing on the orders for that day. Sorry I didn't watch much of your video because once I skip to the poor information about the historical data. I see you don't know much. T
Thanks for answering my question on how he was going to lower the gas prices, you must have put in some real good thought to that. I'm doing pretty good for myself thank you for asking, netting over 200 a day in less than 7 hours just doing spark

That’s awesome! I hope the holiday was wonderful!!
I’m assuming in this area you could still make $1000 per week. Today is going much better than yesterday. It was slooooow Wednesday!

I use the app Gridwise to keep track of my earnings with each gig app and miles driven.
