I gave up after about 20 tries to connect to ESC 2 and finally plugged it into my programmer.
I think the newer firmware is supposed to help make this actually work BUTT we'll see ;)
Lol when it comes to buying a RC plane I always come here first for the best unboxing and set up, amazing plane great video 💯👍
I use a self sticking felt bumper for cabinet doors and stick under my wing for CG . It's easy to locate CG and eliminates sliding issues. The half circle rubber bumpers also work great.

I can.t wait until mine comes in sometime this month. It will be my #576 R/C aircraft in my collection. Aircraft all over in my house, box trailers 2 ,my garage and even a few in the hanger where I keep my seaplane. HOBSESSION is what my friends say that i have.

Watching this video for the second time while my batteries are charging. Got the plane yesterday and the TX and batteries today. Getting psyched up to actually open the box! LOL
You can do it!!!!! Good luck. It's not a hard to fly plane, but it is CAPABLE, and when they're CAPABLE, sometimes we pilots get pretty excited, and tempt fate - LOL ;)

I got lucky and after programming the first ESC, exiting with Save, the transmitter screen reverted to the first Avian screen and I selected the second ESC menu and got in the first time to program. Whole process took less than 15 minutes. Reverse thrust works great!!!

Hey Meg and Brian! Happy New Year and lots of fun to you guys 😊 Remember you got me infected with this RC PLANE VIRUS??? I am Nicolas this french guy who started years ago training as Ultralight Pilot on Trikes then 3-axis, so last year I bought and started flying Aeroscout, Mini Apprentice, Carbon Cub, Super Cub, Super EZ, Ranger. Then got to Conscendo Evo, Trojan, Maule, Timber X, Air Tractor, Habu, Mini Habu, Rans RV7. Some of them I crashed. Some others I offered to some friend! Then got me TURBO Timber Evo, Cirrus, UMX Timber X, UMX AIR Tractor is coming this weekend! I will then complete my collection with EC1500, Twin Timber, EXTRA 300, these STOL Parkflyers are my favorites in 4S 4000, and then probably the rest of 3S UMXs that are UMX TURBO Timber, UMX Pitts, UMX Voodoo MUSTANG, UMX Waco! These will be my little collection of Parflyers and Ultra Micros, around 15 planes bought in less than 24 months, and flying them weekly!!! I have put together lots of planes balsa and epo and I always read the instruction, but that's just me. On all my epo foam planes I brush on about 6 coats of zep floor wax. This makes it easier to keep dust from grinding into the foam. Makes it look new also if you like shiny planes. It also helps protect the paint to a certain extent. I also touch up the paint when it gets dings in the paint. Good video, you do a excellent job explaining everything.

Those radios are pretty stubborn. You folks, plus a guy on another video and I all had the same issue trying to get access to that second ESC for throttle reversal. Took us about 5 times. But you're right. Try, try again. My maiden taxi was in the street at dusk. Lights look great. We live on a hill so the reverse thrust was essential! Can't wait to get to the field and get it in the air. Hoping some day to have enough property to fly in my yard like you do!

Cautionary tale of propellers and radio setup... I knocked my radio off the counter during set up of the RV7. The radio lost contact with the plane and the plane went full send just as I grabbed it by the open canopy. I had the plane in one hand by the canopy with the prop spinning full speed. This could have been a major disaster. Don't do that.
I love that you take us from start to finish in these builds. Thank you, you've been an enormous help in setting up my radio! I actually set up my planes in my transmitter watching you before I even have them. I did preorder this plane, but I can't finish the setup until I actually get the plane. Setting up the radio was always such a pain for me, now I just follow you!😀

Brian on Throttle cut they say -130 as they also want you to move the trim tab all the way down.
Was setting up the reverse Thrust and was not understanding why it only worked for one motor... yeah forgot to activate it on the other ESC too...

I tried over 20 times to get right side reverse thrust to program up . Tried turning off and on with no luck only one ESC would program ...any ideas?
Hey Brian, so I have 3 little screws left over, don't see where they go. What am I missing here. Can't send a pic.
Sometimes you'll get extras. Keep in mind, float equipped planes DO almost always add some "spare" looking hardware, but keep in mind, if you're NOT using the floats, you will have some spares ;)
Also, if you have the plane together, and still unsure, tug on the wings, and tail, and motors, and see if anything wiggles - then address the wiggles - sometimes figuring out what to address is tough, but worth the effort, if you can catch it before the next potential disaster.

Nice video Brian as always. A question regarding telemetry: i know you can see the battery voltage but does the setup with a Spektrum radio also show the drawn Mah on the telemetry screens ? Have been flying with Futaba until now but am thinking of buying a Spektrum transmitter to take full advantage of the BNF models and this plane would be my first BNF in this respect.

YES, so long as you make the proper assignments if it's BNF, or if you're using FORWARD PROGRAMMING. It's fairly easy to do.

If you wanted too, I supposed you could possibly change the way your rudder is working...but why would you want it off???
@@BrianPhillipsRC just thinking if I order one and I find one motor pulls more one direction then the other. Maybe having it off would be ideal. (Fat guy flys rc) has one that he says is doing just that. I thought of that when I 1st saw them. What if the motors don’t pull equally? Either program issues or motor issues.

@@Tillerdog45 If you look at the tailwheel there is a place to connect the water rudder if you have floats. I believe the screws are for that (with one extra).

Looking to pick up a second plane, I just got back into rc planes from an 8 year break from switching to drones. I was looking at the timber evolution but now that this has dropped idk what I want. Which do you like better? I'll mostly be flying off grass fields and maybe on water 3 or 4 times a year. I'm not a 3d pilot but I do basic aerobatics as this or the evo is what ill practice on to get better

It woulda been nice if you did the whole setup.. you diva.. lol. Because some of your viewers use safe and as3x.. and ive setup my timber following your instructions. and im confident in those setups. BUT setting up with safe and as3x im second guessing myself because not one influencer i watch actuality goes thru the whole process of setting up the timber. It would be nice to see a whole setup and configuration of the plane that non experts can have confidence in that theyre setup is proper..
Im probably just over thinking my setup because i am new to this hobby "airplanes" but id rather be safe then sorry with a crashed plane.. lmfao been there done that and dont wanna do it again
One question tho.. if you have a true bnf timber, how did you get forward programming in the menu.. because my ar637ta and my dx8e gen 2 doesnt have the forward programming in the menu.. so either you unlocked your ta. Or you have a ar637t in that which wouldnt make it a true bnf..

@@BrianPhillipsRC my joke aka sarcasim ended at the second set of periods.. so that being said I'll let ya kno from the start.. I had a stroke in 2020. So I'm relearning a bunch of stuff but somehow I kept my mechanic knowledge and rc memories intact. So please bear with me alil.. but as for the rest of my msg. I'm just really second guessing the setup mostly because for some reason my dx8e Gen 2 doesn't have forward programming available in the menu. And my timbers a bnf with a ar637ta.. and its showing all my pitch yaw and bank limits are 0% in my as3x gain menu so its freaking me out alittle and what I meant was if my bnf and new radio thats up to date cannot program safe settings and limits with as3x.. I don't understand how yours was able to do it if it's a true bnf with a locked ar637ta.. only the ar637t is unlocked from factory and adjustable.. the TA is locked with factory setting programmed in and it's not showing any different numbers then 0% in as3x and I cannot access the safe menu to check and see if it's truly setup and ready to fly.. so my point was straight to the chase.. how did ya get the program unlocked from factory with the locked receiver and adjust the gains for as3x and safe parameters.. cause for some reason mine don't have the ability even tho my TX is updated.. hopefully I clarified this abit easier haha
