There can be no question, that "nurture" can trump "nature", as this is free will within the ebb and flow of society. The problem becomes when that "nurture" is guided by a denial of reality. Society has and will ever continue to evolve, so a wrinkle may be added to the mix, but the adjustments MUST remain slight in sight of and sustain the fundamental reality of nature. When an ideology takes precedence and diametrically opposes nature.... _this_ is where the issues begin and what we are seeing in droves today. This is why truth must ALWAYS be held as the standard for all things and why "my truth" is so incredibly dangerous. For "my truth" _does_ take precedence over THE truth, so enables a person to apply blinders to reality and seek to mold the world in whatever image that ideology dictates. This is a recipe for chaos and there is precisely zero societies that can survive under such conditions in the long term. Make no mistake, when someone says..."just do this ONE thing, so as not to upset another", if that thing is based on even the SMALLEST of lies, it is the erosion of society that is being demanded of you. Not only this, but once you DO accept that "small lie", you _will_ be -asked- _demanded_ to do another and that lie will not be so small. This is the incremental steps used to undermine all of society, so one must stand their ground and not subject yourself to living with even the smallest of lies... it will be your undoing!

On the matter of the "luxury beliefs", I am reminded of a concept of costly signalling I heard about from Prof. Gad Saad. The concept involves animals who appear powerful, that they are able to signal to mates at the cost of appearing weak to predators. For example, peacocks have large tails that make them unable to run fast from predators, but it is exactly that costly signalling that makes predators think that if they can afford to appear so weak, maybe they have some secret weapon they can use to deter predators, so the predators won't take potential risks of trying to attack peacocks. In a way, this is the kind of reverse costly signalling, because the elites can signal dangerous ideas while thinking they are immune to their effects, and in this case both prey (the elites) and the predators (lower classes) delude themselves into thinking the elites will be fine, because they can afford to signal those ideas without consequences, but if they were to actually be faced with a situation where they are threatened by lower class individuals, they may not have the protection they think they have

35:07 there have been a lot of movies about that concept - the Freaky Friday movies, The Prince and the Pauper, the Princess Switch, etc.

Anything you achieve in your life, requires hard work and discipline. These days, lots of young people somehow do not understand this. Victim mentality prevails for some reason.

It is all by design. Gen Z is the 3rd FULL generation raised by overwhelmingly Marxist infiltrated public schools and critical thinking is 100% verboten. When critical thinking is not only avoided in the curriculum, but is actively discouraged, so public "education" has churned out the following. Those who were told WHAT to think, rather than HOW! This was a perfect storm, because at the same time, parents were busy seeking to have a Summer home, a boat, a dedicated car for getaways and a nicer home than their neighbor. They UTTERLY failed their children, but allowing them to be raised by public "schools", daycare, nannies, baby sitters, TV and the creme, de-la-creme of horrendous tutors.... the internet!

I dont disagree with the the idea of luxury beliefs but I do I find myself wondering about who gets to decide whats a "luxury" belief? The examples given are all classically left/progressive but exactly the same arguements could be made about beliefs on gun control/taxation/minimum wages/free speech where inevitably the people holding these beliefs are insulatated from the consequences of those beliefs.

Any chance you could link to, or reference the studies mentioned along the way? Really interesting conversation, thank you!

42:48 I don’t know if Mr. Henderson has heard of Dennis Prager, or if Dennis Prager has heard of Rob Henderson, but Dennis Prager has said something similar to luxury beliefs although he didn’t use that phrase. And I want to say I heard Dennis Prager talk about this well before the pandemic years…

The story of the Philippino student was particularly telling. The militantly tolerant left showing how it is in fact they who often treat other cultures poorly.

Another great conversation and thought provoking topics. Focus more on what you love and not on what you hate #ThatLoveLife
