I started out on this bike and I can tell any beginner, this thing is a monster. The YZ125 has one of the best power to weight ratio. I love this bike more than anything, and the stock suspension is like no other. Sound is amazing, 33 horsepower, 70mph, aggressive plastics, this bike has it all!
Excellent job done. I'm finally realizing that I'm not going pro or even A class. So what's left if too just have fun. An what better way to have fun, is to go back to the old two stroke days. Back when I had 94 cr125 with a six speed trans, that bike was my life line when I was a kid. In short thanks, and I'm getting a two stroke!!!!!!!!!!
Props on the build, I own a 2013 yz125 and I had Tom Morgan build a race spec engine that runs on c12 the things pulls harder from the bottom to the top the thing is so much fun
That PRO CIRCUIT pipe really pushed the looks of the bike over the top! I was thinking that the pipe has a sort of satin, light brushed finish. That said, I'm going to do that on one of my next bikes! Thinking a good 320 grit paper to lightly brush in the lines will be enough to get it there. Then pass over that with a higher grit 1k+ to knock down the peaks to prevent any dirt from sticking.
The thing is in the long run it is cheaper because there will be a small amount of problems compared to a stock one. The life of this bike will be way more than two stock yz125s. Plus it a way better and faster bike!:)
When you mod a bike its MORE prone to have problems as you push the limits for performance you throw reliability out the window. A stock motor will outlast a mod motor any day on reliability !
I love yz125s but saying they are the best production bike just blows my mind! In my opinion they might be the funnest but far from the best production bike ever.
+Davin Drachenberg (SkolpisFilmsMC) The KTM quality is better than the Yamaha quality. Take a look of a KTM engine in the inside and compare it to a Japanese one, you will see what i´m saying. From the outside you can see it too. The YZ125 is a great machine too.
+Daniel Reyes depends... If you learn to ride a 125 well, then you can ride anything well. You'll be fine on it in most scenarios, but if you woods ride, you might find it to be a little frustrating on hill climbs. The narrow power band can be extremely unforgiving if you make a mistake and let off of the gas. With that being said, if you learn to ride it well, you'll be a better rider in the long run.
+Donovan Paladino at 5 foot 3 you are not big enough, i mean you can ride it but you will probably have more fun with an 85. You can get a 85 bigwheel or something. If you really want you can get a 125 and shave seat and lower and it should work, but i reccomend 85 bw or 100/105.
get a 125, I have a husqvarna cr125 and that thing rips they're so much fun. only thing I've noticed is that its light in the front end, its good but she gets the wobbles pretty easy if your not holding on tight.
Yz125 is overall the better bike in my opinion but probably a little big for you if you are starting off.. That front tire will pop in forth gear if you are not careful, I rode yz125 and stepped up to yz450f
$6K is a little excessive. And I don't see the cost in the description......anyhow, I use carbon tech reeds and they are great. I prefer them to Boysen or any other brand I've tried. I got a new JT rear sprocket for $35 delivered, off Ebay....
+Balla squad first of all don't fuck with Kawasaki there street bikes are good but there dirt bikes suck, and a 250 for an inexperienced rider and someone your size is not a good match, I would suggest a yz-sx 85 or a yz-sx 125. The only thing is an 85 would probably only fit you for a few months, as you can see from that video you can ride an 125 as long as you are fine with the power output
I haven't been on a 125 yet but I've been on a 100 and my 250 4stroke, now I hear that the 125 will blow my 250 out of the water. I do believe this because I have a friend I ride with who has one but something I don't know is why does the 100 feel so much slower than the 125?
Nothing like the combination of two stroke sound(like a bee hive)plus two stroke smell compaired with the other "tractors" that are sound in the backround...
Holden Mann the Yz125 is a motocross bike. Its even listed there on Yamaha’s website. And it has the same forks as the Yamaha 450f and 250f just different spring rates and valving.
NEED HELP! can someone tell me what the jet set up is on this bike? I have the same bike with the same set up (PC pipe/silencer, Boyesen Rad Valve and Power Wing. I'm having hard time rejeting my carburetor to run at optimum performance.. any info is appreciated! thanks!!
dirtbiker145 Depends on your skill level and weight though. The valving and spring rates are mismatched to compromise for lighter and heavier riders. The suspension works best when the spring rate and valving is matched for the same weight.
Suspension does more than you'd think. Having properly setup suspension can vastly improve your comfort and confidence on the bike and therefor you should be more comfortable throwing the bike into corners and whatnot...
Why don't they just build a high quality high performance bike in the first place? Ktm does. Is it that hard to put the money towards making the 2 strokes better?
"This is the greatest bike ever" Goes on to replace everything except the engine and frame. How about you show us performance like lap times before and after the work?
I`m trying to compare stock bikes from Yamaha to Honda. This bike is no longer a Yamaha. Its a custom, even with Honda parts. Nice bike, but I`m compare-shopping.
Of course the guy who rides 4 stroke kawis has joined us, hi welcome to the 20th century where we don't waste time on stupid gadgets rather performance and handling. I can't give you to much shit Kawasaki made good dirt bikes in the 90s
or just buy a stock ktm 125 and it will be just as fast or faster lighter barely ever breaks THE BEST BRAKES and then with the extra money just fucking spoil yourself with all the gear you could want and a nice pipe
I started out on this bike and I can tell any beginner, this thing is a monster. The YZ125 has one of the best power to weight ratio. I love this bike more than anything, and the stock suspension is like no other. Sound is amazing, 33 horsepower, 70mph, aggressive plastics, this bike has it all!
yea its great but the yz250 is better
This bike looks fast standing still. A thing of beauty.
Pretty rad. Two strokes are the best.

Totally get why you built this. Nice work. Agree with every word.
Great track for a 125 cos you can keep that momentum high. Totally dig the bike, too. Great build.
Yamaha needs to make the 144 a production bike! Great bike!
Rich bastard.. I'm not jealous..
2 Stroke 1 heart
That PRO CIRCUIT pipe really pushed the looks of the bike over the top!

The pipe is raw metal
Sick as bike! Very dialled.
YAMAHA Is Best!
Sick bike
6k into a bike ?? I would have just bought 2 of them !!
143Chippy so true
The thing is in the long run it is cheaper because there will be a small amount of problems compared to a stock one. The life of this bike will be way more than two stock yz125s. Plus it a way better and faster bike!:)

+143Chippy 1,5 not 2
+143Chippy I agree, 6k is a little excessive.
gracias por el video es fabulosa !
6000 in just upgrades? Must be nice.
Bike looks great.
I love yz125s but saying they are the best production bike just blows my mind! In my opinion they might be the funnest but far from the best production bike ever.
***** The KTM SX 125 is far better than the YZ 125.
+Edgar Costa not in the slightest... The chain on a yz125 is worth more than a ktm unless it is the ktm500exc
+Edgar Costa u joking, aren't you ??? ktm's breaks down much Quicker than yamaha/Japanese bikes!!!
TheMotocrossRider It´s not true ;)
How much of a improvement is a bulletproof Hinson clutch kit than stock ??
all going on like you could ride a 125 like this!
it's sick good job spending that money
Dream bike
6k how? That's crazy!
+sesker15 the wheels, exhaust, clutch, and aesthetics are over 3k alone
Matt Quintero Yup yup, And what else?
you must not buy after market parts, or at least the expensive ones lol
Buy the best shit. Do no work yourself.
Boom
sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how tall are you?
what a easy track
What gear you taking those berms in man??
That is a beautiful bike. Can I have it???
I think I'm in love
where did u get that cycra front fender? and is that also for older bikes?
I see a few posts ragging on that he didn't touch the suspension. YZ125 is famous for great stock suspension.
Es hermosa mi moto me encanta!!!
I don't think it will be quite as amazing though 😂 Hey MXA I was wondering, do you guys use the bikes from the shootouts later as project bikes?
Sean Mcmarr On the yz250 video that's exactly what they said...
fuck this dude tears it up on this little 125, on such a small bike you cant hide behind power and the full skill of the rider is shown...
A 125 is Def not little.
It's not that little..
Davin Drachenberg it is a full size bike, they actually sit about an inch higher than a yz250.
😍
I was wondering if the yz125 is a good starter "dirtbike" because I ride quads but never a dirtbike?
+Daniel Reyes depends... If you learn to ride a 125 well, then you can ride anything well. You'll be fine on it in most scenarios, but if you woods ride, you might find it to be a little frustrating on hill climbs. The narrow power band can be extremely unforgiving if you make a mistake and let off of the gas.
With that being said, if you learn to ride it well, you'll be a better rider in the long run.
Yeah man get a yz125, perfect for starting out
im 14, im 5'3" and im big on my 85 should i bore out my bike to a supermini or get a 125 and im growing super fast?
Cr500
+Donovan Paladino at 5 foot 3 you are not big enough, i mean you can ride it but you will probably have more fun with an 85. You can get a 85 bigwheel or something. If you really want you can get a 125 and shave seat and lower and it should work, but i reccomend 85 bw or 100/105.
Thats what i have is a 85 about to make it a supermini but i wanted a 125 so i can slowly transition to the 125
get a 125, I have a husqvarna cr125 and that thing rips they're so much fun. only thing I've noticed is that its light in the front end, its good but she gets the wobbles pretty easy if your not holding on tight.
You should get 125cc like me
mi deseos más grande es tener una maquina así
WOW!
thinking of getting a bike. thoughts on Honda cr125 in comparison to the yz125?
Yz125 is overall the better bike in my opinion but probably a little big for you if you are starting off.. That front tire will pop in forth gear if you are not careful, I rode yz125 and stepped up to yz450f
I don’t see the extra 6k that u spent on it but bike looks rad
I'm 4 foot 9 inch should I get a yz 65 or yz 85
Did you guys know that the subtitler says "Yeah" when yz is ripping on the track xD
$6K is a little excessive. And I don't see the cost in the description......anyhow, I use carbon tech reeds and they are great. I prefer them to Boysen or any other brand I've tried. I got a new JT rear sprocket for $35 delivered, off Ebay....
250 four stroke or 125 two stroke cant decide what to get
125 2 stroke!!!
250 4 stroke or more power 125 2 stroke for lighter bike
Which bike do you guys recommend for me I am 5"2.5
Cr85rb exspert big wheel I have one for sale now you should check it out it is the cleanest 85 out there
Depends, how old are you and how long have you been riding
Kandykiller maniac what about a kx 250f I am now 5'5
+Balla squad no get 125
+Balla squad first of all don't fuck with Kawasaki
there street bikes are good but there dirt bikes suck, and a 250 for an inexperienced rider and someone your size is not a good match, I would suggest a yz-sx 85 or a yz-sx 125. The only thing is an 85 would probably only fit you for a few months, as you can see from that video you can ride an 125 as long as you are fine with the power output
Sick bike, if i had money i wouldn't hesitate to put in 6k in a bike
Suspension first! Then motor work especially on a 125.
ratcamaro not on the 125! the yz125 has amazing stock suspension!
ZxElement still to this day
I have a question i wanna buy one like that one but i dont if i can ride ir in the city or i can drive wherever i want?
hey .. great job done .. plz help me out can i found a new engine for motocross yz 125
Who thinks the steel frame (before aluminum frame that came out) has better handling?
I haven't been on a 125 yet but I've been on a 100 and my 250 4stroke, now I hear that the 125 will blow my 250 out of the water. I do believe this because I have a friend I ride with who has one but something I don't know is why does the 100 feel so much slower than the 125?
Are you sure the 100 is a two-stroke?
SveduP3ll3 kx 100 is a two stroke and more out there
No smoke from this bike.,👏👍. ..6 grand is quite a bit of cash to drop into a bike,
Don't you think?
is this available in the market in philippines and how much the cost?
About $13k all up with the upgrades
what front fender/mudguard is that (bad english sry)
cycra I think
Cycra cycralite fender
Nothing like the combination of two stroke sound(like a bee hive)plus two stroke smell compaired with the other "tractors" that are sound in the backround...
Hey dude I hope u know that yz125 is an enduro dirtbike so try not to break the suspension at the dirtbike track, jumping hills and stuff.
Holden Mann the Yz125 is a motocross bike. Its even listed there on Yamaha’s website. And it has the same forks as the Yamaha 450f and 250f just different spring rates and valving.
Quintin Loughney me?
Ryan D no Holden man is a dumb ass
Yz comes with excellent suspension, 6k is a bit much.
Day de funk
NEED HELP! can someone tell me what the jet set up is on this bike? I have the same bike with the same set up (PC pipe/silencer, Boyesen Rad Valve and Power Wing. I'm having hard time rejeting my carburetor to run at optimum performance.. any info is appreciated! thanks!!
esa moto es muy buena
Name of song 5:04¿?
what is the name of the song?
same as mine , almost
whats the intro song
you can spend whatever you want, the engine won't get better than a stock ktm one.
Antonio Riccioli oh yeah, KTM "Keep the money"
how much are these?
song??
help me kx125 or yz125???
+Didan Didan depends on condition and price but personally the yz125
yz125 or kx125??
Yz
All that and didn't do shit with the susp lol, sick bike though!
Yz's actually come stock with really good suspension.
Yeah, true. I just thought it was funny that he spent $6000 and didn't touch the susp.
dirtbiker145 Depends on your skill level and weight though. The valving and spring rates are mismatched to compromise for lighter and heavier riders. The suspension works best when the spring rate and valving is matched for the same weight.
+Oliver Castle if he only rides this track he don't suspension lol, track is flat af
Suspension does more than you'd think. Having properly setup suspension can vastly improve your comfort and confidence on the bike and therefor you should be more comfortable throwing the bike into corners and whatnot...
I'm 12, 115 pounds, 5'8. I'm a beginner. What would be a good bike for me. Budget $5000
Any 85cc 2 stroke brand new, you could get a 125 for 3k on Craigslist any cheaper than that it might need a rebuild.
yeah get a good 85 cc 2 stroke, or honda makes a 150 4 stroke race bike that is almost equal in performance to the 85
+That guy who rides YZs lol I got a perfect 01 yz125 for 800. with over 700$ worth of upgrades already on it so I got a bike for 100$
Let's not forget a full Pro Circuit suspension costs another 8K so 6k isn't bad for a 250c mod bike/ schoolboy bike
this is a 125cc not 250cc
+TheMotocrossRider he means for the 250 class I'm guessing?
hp????
Lol
the hp dosent matter, its in the rider you know
I personally don't like hp sauce...
Why don't they just build a high quality high performance bike in the first place? Ktm does. Is it that hard to put the money towards making the 2 strokes better?
Kim bikes are quite often useless...
+Bill Mack ktm's are high quality? last i checked they're snapping in half left and right...
6k and didn't even do the most important thing, fix the squish. Seems like a lot of fluff to me, but hey it looks good!
me to
Now build a yz250
Yeah but you don't know what you want but suit yourself 😂
My bike in a month or two
Same 😎
Same in 1 week
+oliver denning i got a 2002 yz125 for 750 and i fixed it up
+Juan Rios same thing I'm doing except a 01 for 800.. mechanically it's perfect in just modding it out
+Fr3ShPRiNC3 nice
Better than a yz125 a yz250 boom
"This is the greatest bike ever"
Goes on to replace everything except the engine and frame.
How about you show us performance like lap times before and after the work?
Your new here aren't you
and suspension ;D
mb8rickner87
Man I wish I had that kind of money to put 6k in a bike😒 im runnin a stock 06 yz125
I would have done a 450
Build a kx125 2003
I`m trying to compare stock bikes from Yamaha to Honda. This bike is no longer a Yamaha. Its a custom, even with Honda parts. Nice bike, but I`m compare-shopping.
i can tell you a better bike
CR500
*blows the motor while riding*
Sage Crawfish 😆😆😆
$6K into a play bike. Why?
that is a sexy looken bike
I wish
All that money and you still need to mix fuel and handle needles... what a waste.
or just be fast and rid it stock
they act like a 2015 is a project lmao. a 2015 is nice as is.. a project should be like 05 or 06
lol 2015 and they still use 80s kickstarter on yamaha 2 strokes..
Of course the guy who rides 4 stroke kawis has joined us, hi welcome to the 20th century where we don't waste time on stupid gadgets rather performance and handling. I can't give you to much shit Kawasaki made good dirt bikes in the 90s
+Kian Christensen haha i ride a 4 stroke? maybe you should look on my videos before comenting stuff
144cc kit + hinson clutch = faster bike then this for $1500 not 6g
kevin triana
or just buy a stock ktm 125 and it will be just as fast or faster lighter barely ever breaks THE BEST BRAKES and then with the extra money just fucking spoil yourself with all the gear you could want and a nice pipe
The power is nothing, compared to Ktm Sx
wow 6 grand into the slowest of the 125s should of been an rm 125
125 ktm
