Frodo and Sam was so perfectly casted. Couldn’t imagine anybody else but Elijah and Sean playing them. But hell, everyone in the trilogy is perfectly casted.

know what's funny? The whole fandom threw fit after fit over the casting choices when the films were being made. The gatekeeping nerd fury was incredibly toxic. Ian Mckellon will ruin Gandalf, Liv Tyler shouldn't have speaking lines, Cate Blanchette is too ugly for Galadriel, Wood is all wrong for Frodo, the Nazgul's horses aren't black enough, Tolkien is spinning in his grave etc etc. There were even calls for Peter Jackson to be killed to 'save the books.'
Then Fellowship was released. That 6.8 magnitude earthquake that year was from the entire Tolkien fandom sitting their humbled asses down.
