I have some new risers and bars coming in and was dreading replacing the brake line because the only information I could find on it was the forums like you were saying. So just replacing the upper line from the coupler under the tank is such a relief to know haha. I’ve spent hours scouring the internet for answers and you just saved the day! Haha Thanks.
Ha that’s awesome man….yes don’t do what I did lol! So yeah you will have to remove the tank which their are vids about but it’s no big deal…. And then the clutch cable will need to be replaced with a longer one :) but that’s super easy. If you need any help or pointers Lmk and we could face time or something and I can walk you through stuff… also the best news is you won’t have to bleed the breaks which also isn’t really that big of a deal either just another thing you wont have to worry about :)
Ooops YES you do… I was getting myself confused with the regular scout where you done have to add a line 😂. It’s super helpful to have an extra set of hands.. I just had my kids help… here’s the best vid to walk you through it and it helps if you have a question about ABS th-cam.com/video/twgmmQ7Livw/w-d-xo.html
I love your vids! Watching from Australia. I swapped the bars out too. Bars were $250AUD, brake & clutch cable kit for $160. Took it to a motorcycle workshop that charged me $300. That was $700 to $1000 cheaper than my first quote (because the had ‘never done a bar change on a bobber’ despite doing hundreds of Harleys and other bikes). Granted the place that did the install underquoted since they didn’t realise how much work was involved but they honoured their quote so I was pretty happy.
Right on dude! What year is your bike ? Is it the Bobber as well? That is soooooo cool your watching from Australia man! That Rocks! What part of Australia are you in?
Thank you for the info! This has been extremely informative. Like you said there are no videos about installing the Mimi apes on the bobber! Thank you again.
stumbled on your video looking for an install video to see how tough it was going to be. I was initially annoyed because I didn't see any install footage just you talking. After going back and watching your video from the beginning, I am so glad I did. Holy crap you have a ton of valuable information all in this one video, thank you so much for taking the time and clearly stating all the facts and potential issues. you indeed have saved me money & frustration trying to find the right parts. definitely subscribing!! Edit: they raised the price to 104.99 for the bars, but they're running a $20 off coupon on orders over $100. I also chose to have it shipped to my dealer for free so I only ended up paying $84 total for the bars!!
Right on Brian! Yep I about dumped mine into a pond during the install only to discover a couple days later I had ordered the wrong lines!!!!! What year is your Bike?
Yep just take your time when you get into the area under the battery etc. I think the hardest part was just getting the stuff attached at the master cylinder don’t wanna cross thread etc.
Hey Christian great question! Nope no modifications whatsoever the holes are already all cut out for ya! They fit perfect on the Scout Bobber and I think it’s cool to throw something on that is unique. With that being said they are a rubber grip so they won’t last forever but I tend to like running rubber grips so I just swap when they start wearing out :) kinda fun cause it’s a pretty cheap and easy mod!
Hi! I'm new here but I have a question. I have a 2020 (not bobber) Scout and I have the bar end mirrors on it. I didnt buy the kit to install them, I just cut a hole on the grips' ends and the mounting kits on the mirrors fitted perfectly (and I also saved myself $80-ish). So my question is, you think I could do the same with the 10 inch handlebars? Are the ends hollowed as well? And lastly, as you said on your video I dont need the clutch cable extension and all that stuff right?? Thanks a lot man! I loved your video and how you explained the whole accessories part!
Not sure about fixing the adapter kit to those bars but if you follow the little trail I laid out the bars have the adapters built right in…..But yeah your stock cables brake lines etc should fit perfect :)
Hey man, great video! Watching you from Australia. I swapped my original bar on my 2019 for the minis. I bought the bars for $250AUD, extended brake and clutch cable for $160, took it to a place twas c
13:08 he talks about doing it on a bike that has ABS which this bike he’s working on does. I’ve found it helpful to have a partner , buddy or one of your kids either working the lever or opening and closing the valve with the wrench 🔧…… it’s not hard just take your time and make sure you do it till you see no more air bubbles coming through that hose… oh and watch as you do that you don’t run the reservoir empty or you will start re introducing air into the line and then you’ll be back a square one and have to start all over again….. what I did was watch this video several times until I felt very familiar with the steps and then start the job and keep your phone right there where you can play the video go back and play a part again until you’ve made your way all the way through the steps.
@@FASTLANEMOTO You are awesome! Appreciate the response. I have ordered the Mini Apes and the brake/clutch lines after watching your video. Will probably add quarter fairing as well

Holyyyyyyy moly lol. Thanks for this. I ended up buying a brake line from magnum shielding and they sent the entire brake line for a 2019. I will be ordering that kit you put in the video now. Really don’t want to go through the hassle of replacing an tire line to the master cylinder lol
