I feel bad for loki with this ending, i got the impression from this series that loki doesnt want power or to be king or to be better then thor he just doesnt want to be alone he even says season one he doesnt want a throne which in sure a lot of ppl think he was just talking shit but i think there more to that and now he is alone on a thrown with nothing but his ‘glorious purpose’
some a fate worst then death, others an honor and privilage, and even more others a gift of ultimate power no matter how you look at it loki became a multiversal god of time with the burden of forever being who he was meant to be rather then who he wants to be
That's the point. As Mobius said: "Most purpose is more burden than glory." You are correct - what Loki was most afraid of was being alone. It's why his discussion with Thor on the elevator during Ragnarok changes him. That's the irony of the situation: Loki only realizes he doesn't want the throne and truly just wants happy, meaningful relationships with thise around him...when saving his friends necessitates he take the throne and give up the ability to have those relationships.
i love how loki is depicted as saying "im BURDENED with GLORIOUS PURPOSE" yet what would of been considered a variant is who was destined with such purpose
Actually Loki's main problem was he was god of mischief. Meaning he's always caused mischief no matter what. Then he decided to master time and change his date by being the gatekeeper of time.
I always liked Loki. And he was always portrayed as weak. But this last episode proves that he truly is the strongest being to have ever lived. A true king of everything and everyone. He no longer needs to be feared. He controls every timeline ever created ever. That’s completely insane. I love it.
So curiousity.... Does Loki becoming He Who Remains mean that he essentially became the God of EVERYTHING in existence? This making him more powerful than Thor? Ulimately giving Loki EXACTLY what he always wanted... To be more powerful than his Brother? Second question.... Does Loki doing this make him master of the time stone??
He becomes the god of time but the cost is that he has to stay there on his throne to keep the timelines in place using hes power. And yes this means he becomes stronger than his brother. I would not say he becomes the god of everything as that would be the one above all who is a character in the comics that the marvel movies are based on
There is a thing that good writers do. I don't know what it is called, but here are some examples. Hodor, couple seasons in, you find out why his name is Hodor. Kings landing, couple seasons in, you find out why it is named kings landing. Pruning, second season in, you find out why it is named pruning.
This scene just breaks my heart. As a Loki fan, what I want most for him is a happy life. I heard that in an interview, it was started that there's "always a chance" that Loki will return, and I hope with all my heart that's true. I have an idea for a sequel of sorts, inspired by one of my favorite anime, Puella Magi Madoka Magica. MADOKA MAGICA SPOILERS AHEAD The original series had an ending similar to Loki, with Madoka becoming a goddess, but that wasn't truly the end. There was a movie, Rebellion, that continued the story. Homura, mad with grief, basically kidnapped Madoka's human side and brought her back to Earth. At first, I didn't understand why Homura would do that, but now, seeing Loki here, I think I get it a little more. Homura didn't want Madoka to be alone forever, just like how many of us here are saddened by the thought of Loki facing that same fate. I kind of want to see a Rebellion-inspired story, though I imagine it would require some adjustments so the characters are still themselves. Seems I'm just rambling at this point. I just want Loki to have a happy ending somehow.
the end of this season of LOKI is literally just the end of the first season of PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA. Both sacrificed themselves to save the lives of trillions and prevent suffering, but the sacrifice meant they willingly bound themselves as gods which eternally and restlessly upheld the new laws of their respective realities. I think it was an extraordinary way to end the series, and a very satisfying end to Loki’s arc.
he could literally destroy a whole timeline or multiple. what is more powerful than that, who could be on the outside outside of time, or beyond the god of time

If anyone doesn’t see what Loki accomplished in this story arc ; just simply lacks imagination .

Loki literally became Yggdrasil, the Tree of the Universe. I wonder if he realized that.
Loki is no longer the king of Asgard now he is the god of time

Funny how Loki is now the most important character in all of marvel after this
Fun fact. This version of loki is cannonically at the same level of power as Stan Lee and The comic creators 😅
