I never heard of a smoke tube but I drank a large 24 oz beer, poked a gazillion holes in it, drilled those out, open both ends into a semicircle to fill tube with chunks of a dry rotted sawdusty piece of pecan, then rolled a paper towel into a wick, a little lighter fluid and that baby rocks. Set it at an angle to burn upwards. Then cold smoked my backboard bacon that I made for the very first time this week. It was fun. Great video by the way. Cost of beer $2.50 = total spent, lol

Thank you very much. I was wondering if I could use wood chips in the tube. Thanks.

I use all woodchips.....just stab the pellets as you pack them in the tube with a screw driver.

That's right. Use a honing knife sharpener to pack the chips in. Works great!

Im waiting for my smoker tube and had thought about using pellets with woodchips to hopefully itll keep smoking and not burn out. Gona try this out when my tube comes in

Chips alone burn very quickly. Pellets alone last the most, but mixing them you get a good amount of time and a better smoke profile.

I use a heat gun. This one is like 10+ years old, has gotten wet many times still works perfect. Home Depot $20-$30.

I use a torch to ignite mine and it lights them really fast.
