Been here at least 8 myself. It's like Delos reminding they had been around for 10. Makes you wonder where all the time has gone. I've been here since Mads was rebuilding boat #1. So glad to see him actually sailing the Caribbean. Thought the trip to pick up Athena might kill him - watch him now.

Eva, if you like SCUBA, most basic courses today omit a lot of things. You'll want an Advanced Open Water class to get the rest of what most entry level courses used to include.

@@nancywyatt821 Slavery had been illegal in Britain since the Middle Ages, and that is probably why King George III was falsely Scapegoated for Causing The American War of Independence (the Tyranny was actually in the House of Commons, which William Pitt Railed against in his Speeches at the time, in Support of the Colonists )as both King George and Queen Charlotte were both Vehemently Anti Slavery, and were pointing out, that as The Anti Slavery Law was part of Our Common Law Constitution, that also Bound Every British Colony As Well. This put the Colonists in a between a Rock and a Hard Place Situation that they had inherited without prior knowledge. So both sides of the Atlantic King George got Savaged . Was he actually Mad ? Barbados is/was so quintessential Caribbean to the English but not on the regular sailing route as it’s usually uphill from the rest of the islands/Grenada etc and a reputation of limited anchoring and mooring facilities.

Really good to see you into the cruising life. Two Stroke is the preferred option. You will still have the dirt in the carb issues but if it gets drowned, (just like the running aground discussion, it will happen) it's a matter of pulling the spark plug and getting it dried and pulling the starter rope several times to blow out water in the cylinders, install the spark plug, hook up the fuel line and away you go in no time. A Four Stroke is a little more involved. Fair winds.

Mads, look up "Dive Gear Express", they used to be called "DiveRite Express" and they sell lots of gear mail order. Since you're not "permanently" placed anywhere you may need to have a discussion with them on shipping. In the past I've bought LOTS of technical gear from them as my LDS didn't sell technical gear (Backplates, wings, single tank adapters, manifolds, basic bottom timers, Argon bottles, and at the time, some of the best dive lights around). Check them out. Like I said, I've bought a lot of gear through them when I couldn't buy what I wanted locally.

Woolworths is one of the top two food retailers in Australia. However it has no relationship at all to the USA one. Thanks for the video folks. Highly informative. Have you tried a plumbing or irrigation supplies shop for the compressor connections. I hunted high and low for one connector. Almost ordering one from Italy, then just walked into an irrigation shop where they were $1.75.

Slowaz outboards are cool. We are using a Honda 2.3hp air-cooled 4-stroke and we are lucky to get a whole 5 knots with it with both of us onboard. It does run for an hour on a liter of gasoline at full throttle though. A 2-gallon mini fuel can is all that us needed to carry extra fuel on deck or in the outboard.

Ugly that you had built dorade boxes on Athena during your reconstruction. I guess I was watching too many videos, but thought you would need those when crossing the Atlantic during rain showers, etc. Hope you get those constructed soon as if you are like me, I don’t handle heat well, especially humid heat which I assume you are experiencing in the Barbados and will later in the Bahamas if you sail there. Love seeing the islands of Barbados as I have never been there but have been to the Bahamas in March and it was hot and humid. bit of a late comment, but DIN to INT (aka yoke) connectors are fairly common in a lot of dive shops. I actually have one for when i go on holidays, am not a very experienced diver (yet :p) but almost all divers I talked to told me that not all places have INT connectors (or 300bar compressors) so having a DIN to INT is a smart move. :p
