I have been following you for years. No matter what happens, you tackle it with grit and tenacity. There will always be naysayers. I appreciate your ability to continue to follow your own path. Love the videos!
❤
Absolutely agree 👍
You said it for me as well❤
Agree
I hope you feel better Eevee. It's no fun when you feel dizzy. Love you guys ❤❤
Thanks.
I love how you guys don’t let things get you down. You have a positive attitude and just get to work to get it done.
Eevee.. Can't never said could.
That is a direct quote from my MIL...
I love you guys.
Good job. I know people are going to say..get rid of it. But, they are masters of taking stuff most of us would just throw up our hands and walk away from, and turning it into something beautiful and functional. Have faith in them and the process. They are a deserving family. Be kind. Bless you Doug, Eveve and children.
🌺We feel your pain in following the flooring underlayment. But, also agree that it’s no surprise how water spreads out. You’ve done a good job on the other home and this one will turn out great, too!
We had a dishwasher slow leak from a split drain at the back and it traveled under the wood flooring and also a back door threshold leak that spread all through the kitchen and into our family room. Had to redo subfloors and even three joists and two feet up the door frame. We kept going until wood was dry and no mold just like you two. It kept us busy through C19 shutdown. Was a huge project but we loved doing it together and ended up with an open floor plan. We added a kitchen island, removed pony wall, added a floor outlet, relocated dishwasher, put down waterproof luxury vinyl planks, and added a full glass back door with internal blinds. It’s beautiful and so much more light! My husband and I love doing yard and home projects together. Blessings from VA❤️
You never let anything get you down. in the end it will be better than new
I’m so glad you have this new storage unit. Sometimes things just work out for the best. Just think how wonderful it will be to have everything in one place and not on the front porch. Perfect 👍🏻
I love your positive attitude about everything, Doug and Eevee! Everything is always solvable! Have a blessed Sunday!
Lucky you did actually rip those walls down and found the dry rot before you went further... I guess we will see more than was intended... I got a feeling you are enjoying the demolition LOL
take care ....
It’s a really good thing that you decided to demolish the old bathroom. At least you will be able to breathe easier knowing you got rid of that horrible old mess and mold before you start to use the space. Great job guys. 😊😊😊
Yeah. Even if we wanted to keep it, it would all need to come out first anyway. Thanks!
I wish the mold problem had turned out better for you.
But, knowing Doug, he's going to get it figured out and fixed.
Anxious to see the outcome
Stay safe and blessed
It'll be a thousand times better by the time you get done with it, you always make things better, and I think you enjoy working through these little challenges. ❤❤
I wish I was part of an awesome team like you guys! I have the rot, the mold, the sheer scale of the problem is overwhelming , facing it on my own. But you give me hope every time I watch one of your videos, nothing is impossible, the very word says 'I'm possible'. Thanks for the morale boost!
If you look at the problem one piece at a time, it can get done.
Yay! Garfield is back ❤ I love that sweatshirt! 😁 Sorry to see all the rotten wood and mold you discovered with the demo of the little room. I'm glad you checked under the planks though so it can be cleaned up now and not making anyone sick. Great progress! 👍
Have been following your videos for at least 3 or 4 years. All I can say is keep up the good work.
It's Florida. EVERYTHING molds! My parents and my sister's family both lived in the Tampa area. Each house they bought either started out with mold or eventually molded, particularly any non-air conditioned out buildings. And car engines rust. Something to keep in mind if you don't want to air condition your home. I remember in my sister's house, she had air conditioning, but of course the closets had closed doors and then the wallboard inside them and the clothing mildrewed. Like they say, it's not the heat - it's the humidity. -
Every project that you guys take on ends up so clean and very nice. Love your videos. Take care Doug and Eevee
I like demolition, until it turns into a much bigger repair than expected. You’ve had lots of practice with exactly this type of mess before so you already know exactly what and how to do everything. And still being young, you can do it easily! Things to be thankful about. 👍💕
I like how you always try to keep things out of dumps by fixing them up, they always turn out better than before.
Thank you for the visit and for inspiring me to keep going with the homestead solutions to the problems created by others! God bless you both, your children, and your projects!
Yay....my favorite morning video to enjoy with my coffee! Good that you are concentrating on this new project.....you need the storage badly and best to fix this before you start storing items in there. Then once repaired...you will have a safe area for your storage needs as well as a protected area to put your supplies when storms come up quickly. So I'm glad to see you tackle this now. You will have it ship shape in no time! Thanks for taking us along in the process! ❤
Just one more thing to fix up but I know your up for the job and you’ll get it done. Always enjoy your demolition jobs, you make everything look so easy . God Bless your beautiful family.
I can already see a beautiful work space for Ashley. A fully functional work space for Doug. Can’t wait to see the results.Take care
Keep up the great demo was glad when I saw you were on today love seeing Doug and Eevee.
I'm not surprised that you have found more hidden damage. Every construction office trailer I ever worked in received zero maintenance. Several trailers had a 1/2 sheet of plywood on the floor in front of the door because the neanderthals who worked in it before me wouldn't close the door to keep the rain out. It almost seemed the workers were seeing how much damage they could do without overtly smashing the structure.
Its much more fun to watch you demo than doing it myself LOL
You two are the perfect pair to do the repairs. ❤
You got this, Doug ! You heal all your projects back to health.
Thanks!
Thank you!!
If anyone can fix the problem Doug can. I've seen him tackle areas where others would just give up.
I was so glad to see you again this Sunday. I say, I look forward to you to make my day on Sundays. Evie you are terrific in your videos and editing. But it takes your great team to get the jobs done, and you really have a lot of them as we can see.Love ya'll and stay safe and healthy for the family there and here on TH-cam.
Doug, I knew you’d know what to do about the rot and mold! You make it look so easy. I know other folks would give up when they saw the rot and mold and not even try to correct it. This is why I love your videos. You ALWAYS think of a solution to a problem and execute it. It doesn’t save you much energy but it saves you money and that’s important. Carry on sir. Bless you.💕
I’m so sorry that this new adventure looks so challenging. But if anyone can repair it, you guys can. Looking forward to your new project.
The ex-bathroom would make an excellent place to store bulk items, craft supplies, extra tools, stuff you don’t use all the time. The other thing you might want to consider is a BIG sink to wash up paint brushes, clothes that are used for projects/cleaning, etc. I know you didn’t want to do any plumbing, but a cleanup area is essential when you do crafts, art work, projects…like you guys do all the time. Something to think. Can’t remember if one of Eevee’s hobbies was photography…this room would make a great ‘dark room’. So many possibilities! 😊❤️
Hey you two!! I’m a somewhat new subscriber. Just wanted to chime in and say that I totally enjoy your videos. Tc from Nevada
Thanks for subscribing, and I'm glad you enjoy our channel :)
@@diyfferent and thank you for your respons!!!
You guys know how to handle it. You've done it before. You've got this!
Well mold is sneaky stuff. But Doug thrives on a challenge. It’s how we learn to tackle a project we don’t know about. Perseverance can pay off. Besides it makes for great content. In the end it will be worth it. Mold loves the paper backing on drywall. I would’ve kept a sink always good to have a place to wash brushes and hands. That’s just my thoughts not a criticism
Well you guys love a challenge right🤣🤗 you guys can make it so beautiful afterwards 😉👋❤️
Hi Eevee and Doug, at least you found the rot and can now repair and replace. The old bathroom will be a great storage room. The trailer will be so helpful to store your tool’s. It is a good space for everything you need.
I appreciate you sharing the process instead of glossing over all the hard work that you do.
It’s good that you were wearing a respirator. Mold is a horrible contributor to lung/sinus and throat issues. After six months of absolute suffering we finally found mold in our basement that was the factor in my being so sick.
As always be well, be blessed ❤
I hope you were able to get rid of it. Thank you!
Good job guys! I really enjoy watching your videos, Doug you can do anything, very inspiring. God bless. ❤️☺️
Always enjoyable as we watch what you uncover! Like opening a vault with Geraldo! 😂😂🤣🤣You never know what you will find.
When mold becomes visible on the surface you can pretty much bet it will be a thousand times worse underneath. Doug had his head up there next to the mold tearing out a board and wasn't wearing his safety equipment. Scary!
You could fix that “shed” trailer in a couple hours; with maybe a floor or bottle jack and a 4x4 piece of lumber to push the dent shape back out then just reboot the seams and seal them
Doug you are an absolute legend when it comes to demo work
That’s such a great idea for storage. Can’t wait to see it ❤️👍💯when it’s completed. Life is challenging but you all are rocking it. Thanks for a great channel and videos.
Most of your other projects (even the covered up bus) are at good places they can wait for this to get transformed.
You couldn't have stopped the storm. You're turning a bad hit into a home run. Bravo
Well - you make demo LOOK easy 😳….
While you didn’t anticipate this much damage , it’s better to find it and remediate it now 👍. Before long , you two will have it back together and much better !!! 🎉❤❤
What better people than you two to tackle this project 😎🙌 you always make it 100 times better! Much love 🤗❤😊
Get R Done is your motto…cause you always do! 👍🙋🏻♀️🥰
Good seeing you dig into a new project. Demo is always my favorite part. Bringing older things back to life ❤
Nice work as always. Rebuilding is what you do so we’ll.
Thanks!
I just got back from a vacation and yours was the first video I watched! I'm shocked at the flooring!
Thank you. That means a lot to us! We hope you enjoyed your vacation.
You both deserve a medal or a long holiday for your hard work and dedication for all that you both do in life I have been watching all your video's for some years and all the talents you both have & the fighting strength to continue no matter what obstacles are put in front of you it's a case of keep on going 😊
Cheryl from Australia🇦🇺
I love these videos. I live in a 1985 Manufactured/Mobile home. Really has prepared me for what I'm going to find behind the walls when I started remodeling. Keep up the great work!
Since this will be your “new” workshop, it would be a great idea to have at least a wash basin for washing dirty hands. You can always do it the off-the-grid way using a 5 gallon container with a pump faucet and a 5 gallon receptacle for the gray water. Just a thought to avoid having to run into the house to wash-up. Love your videos for years!!
The hazards of buying things in the land of mold and rot (FL). Good thing is you know how to handle it. 👍🏻🍀
wow! just keep "working past the ugly" you two will get it in where it needs to be! blessings to you. protect those lungs!
You guys will persevere like you always do. Doug is the Demolition Man. ❤
I be following you and learning off you ❤❤❤thanks amazing man and family thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
Good morning, early birds! 👍💕
You two must stay safe . Don’t breathe that in I’m sorry it’s worse than you expected. But it’s great content and nothing you can’t fix
Thank you for allowing us to come along on your life's ventures. You are appreciated.
You kids are such hard workers and so level headed!
Look at you two, making lemonade out of the lemons!❤You always do, we can count on you. Much respect and affection to your family!
I love renovation videos - guess I came to the right youtube channel. Somehow it's so gratifying! Looks like you have a project that will keep my rapt attention and I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines. ❤
It's possible the reason you seem to discover more damage than anticipated is - well, you actually look for damage. With a house you take it down to the studs as you research leaks, issues from inferior plumbing, poor upkeep, etc. That's your choice and the correct way to proceed. Most people would not be so thorough and driven. That is also why so many of your Subscribers have stated they could reside in a home renovated by Eevee and Doug - myself included. That type confidence is earned and definitely deserved by Eevee and Doug. That caliber of quality work is extremely rare.
Love your videos. I just get so excited when I see there is a new one.
Unfortunately, finding unexpected issues comes with buying anything used/previously owned. Fortunate, though, that you know how to fix stuff! So glad you decided to demolish that bathroom even though it opened up a can of worms.
Wow, lots of work! You two will get it! 🥰 ✅
Doug, you are good at many things including things thst need replace ,repair, rebuild.and demolish......hugs
I feel bad that you now have all this extra work to do. But I’m great full that you have what it takes to fix it. Absolutely love your videos!
Thank you!
You are a good husband Doug. Nice to see you work on Eevee's room first. It's a great example for your kids to see also.
wow always something you can't see hiding until you begin to look a little deeper. love the positive outlook.....it is what it is ...lets get it fixed.
Always love watching "others" do demo.
Nice well made trailer, because it might have been a portable office for worksites. Makes me want a quick storage solution! So COOL. Keep up the excellent work you two!
Doug & Eevee you know it would not have been any fun at all if there hadn’t been some reconstruction to be done!!🤣 you guys are so good at what you do. I love every one of your projects that you are working on. And I am so happy you found this building to store all your equipment. Stay safe. I care for your family as if you all were my family. Until next time. ❤❤❤❤
If you haven’t dealt with the ants yet, a way I used (since I didn’t want to spray), was to vacuum them up! Took a little time, but worked great 👍. More adventures await 😁
That is disheartening to see all the damage. Luckily yall are the very capable to get the job done. In the end it will be worth it!
Thanks for taking us along!! ❤❤❤❤
Sorry about the unfortunate surprises! You'll get it done! Take care.
It’s a big project but I’m sure you will get it done and it will be beautiful! ❤
I think a lot of people like to put band-aid over problems rather than fix it.
Doug and Evee, Once you start rebuilding it is going to make a great storage area and an Evee room! looking forward to seeing the changes. Have a great day
I'm so glad that you have escaped any real damage from Florida's hurricane season. Take care. Love you guys.
We definitely had some real damage. But we're glad it wasn't worse.
So glad you gutted that moldy bathroom. I was surprised but it will make great storage. It is hard to work when things aren't organized. Love everything you two do.😊
It's not only hard to work, but it's impossible sometimes. For example, we can't finish our porches if we need to use them for storage. So this will be such a big help for us to be able to move forward on so many projects.
Another informative and interesting video. Thank you so much.
First!!! Looking great Doug and Evee
so glad you have the mask and gloves all that mold and junk could do so much harm to your breathing better safe than sorry for sure hugssss
Thanks Doug and Ashley! Excited for you!
Awe maverick’s little voice saying bye we miss that 😆 woman don’t be scared of demolishing floors just ripped them apart a little faster lol 😂 good job guys 👌
You got this Doug I have no doubt and things are coming together ❤️🇨🇦
You two are so much braver than I would be when you have to deal with the mold, rot and especially the biting ants. YUCK!
Treat for mold by spraying all of the interior and shutting trailer up a few days. Lowes or Amazon has mold control concentrate....mix up and spray all walls ceiling, even insulation ( light spray).
Thanks for taking us along.
All the best to you guys! Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
Wow never seen veins like that in the wood. It would be cool to shellac a piece of that and use for art work😊
Same old, same old! I wish it had been less troublesome for you! 😮🥺
It will be a nice storage and shop for you 👍🏻
