- Due to Shut down the Alameda Corridor(Hazmat training by FD/PD), Union Pacific double stack/container trains went through EX-Southern Pacific Wilmington Sub on Slauson & Artesia Blue Line Station in Los Angeles/California on 3/16/14. Wilmington sub is a SP/UP main line until Alameda Corridor opened in 2002 and now only local/baretable use the line.
8 Years Later After This Video... This Might Actually Become More Common Of Doublestacks Running On The Wilmington Sub Due To The Alhambra Sub Being Trashed Due To Robberies.
I'm a big fan of trains. I miss the action on this line. I remember watching and following Union Pacific trains on board the blue line in the 1990s. It's only a few that pass through now. Miss the incredible action!
Yes a kid I still remember too I loved it and also the alameda next to the louis burgers all memories
@@arandomtrip8082 for reals! Great times. Take care God bless🙏
This used to be an everyday occurrence in Compton Ca. along Willowbrook Ave, sometimes the trains would stop for 45 minutes causing traffic jams.
From or near Vernon area to Carson/ Wilmington area the Alameda coordinator to the ports
Lovely work as usual Snuffy!
Cheers Gregg
Brings back memories... To see stack trains on the Wilmington Sub again. Very nostalgic video for me...Great catches there Snuffy!
I remember that day... that day sucked... The 117 was stuck at the crossing for about 20 minutes and I got late to work.
Excellent video. I enjoy watching the rolling stock but I also like seeing the area and people surrounding where the trains operate. You captured both in this video, good job!
I wish I could have been riding the blue line for this. This is so cool!
Haha. It took almost ten min to clear the station, so not everyone was happy about it. lol Thanks.
You seen the railroad lights blinking it's means the train is coming. And they ignoring it.
Great video & awesome shot!
Thanks!
WHOOOOoooo!!! Intro!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Point of view!!! You are a BRAVER man than I am....AWESOME.....THANX SNUFFY!!! P.S. What was the cause of the detour?

So close and I missed it! I have to get me a scanner. Thanks for sharing that was an awesome video. Love it!!! RT
UP special also took the sub and I missed it but I was able to catch two freights. Thanks.
Nice Video
what caused the corridor to be shut down? an did bnsf use the Wilmington sub or the old alameda tracks?
I was told is was Hazmat tests.
darryl211 bnsf used the old union pacific san pedro line through paramount. And even before the corridor atsf then bnsf detoured down the union pacific san pedro line due to the severe congestion on the harbor subdivision.
Before the alameda corridor the ex sp wilmington sub was the westbound track and the union pacific san pedro sub was the eastbound track.
Great Video!
Thumbs up!
Thanks!
Nice!
Thanks!
I know that the old AT&SF LA Division had four districts. Was the Harbour Sub a distict or just a Sub?
Every line the Santa Fe had was a district. For LA there was the first (Cajon), second (Pasadena), third (San Bernardino), and fourth (San Diego). All other lines were considered branch lines and had a location before the district, so in this case Harbor District. This lasted until around the 80s when they renamed all their districts to the suffix subdivision

Does that line only get locals?
Why was the Alameda Corridor shut I'm the first place?
Isn't it track work that they are doing on the Alameada corridor?
It was Hazmat tests I heard.
A bunch of Compton Jaywalkers lol
How many freights come pass this place?
some locals but no freight since Alameda Corridor opened in early 2000.
Railbuffs would feel spoiled for this sight.
Does this happen every year?
Cool and even the CSXT went down there. A We Will Deliver AC44 at 5:35.
Yea, variety of locomotives... only UP. :)
Not everyone is a railbuff like us.
Lately ive been riding the blue line more often and i think its safe to say that those tracks are that run along the blue line from vernon down to del amo are now abandoned
they are, part of the track is missing over there, also the connecting crossings on Santa Fe are also out of service.
Well the blue line is closed there working on it
2019 anyone like I u arw
I wish I could have been riding the blue line for this. This is so cool!
