Months later we had some news about he was in the hopspital because of TB. Actually it was lung cancer. Spreaded from his bone cancer cells i think. His family lied about it to comfort him. He died in a week. That was the saddest moment of our group.

My brother is an orthopedic-pediatric surgeon and has done this on a couple kids already! It amazes me on the progress of these patients as their young brain readjusts to the heel as a knee now, and they can play all sorts of sports and still be little kids running and playing! My bro is amazing!

I'm guessing not severing a major nerve would also reduce phantom pain, which is caused by the brain being confused by the nerves suddenly stopping in a normal amputation. Phantom pain can be extremely debilitating so preventing it is a priority in amputation surgeries.

Fr I got Ewings Sarcoma Tumour on My Right Femur They cut out the Bone & Radiated It & Rejoined it along with Titanium Plates in it .Baam after Some Years of Treatment It is like a Normal Leg But still i am Walking in a Walker Tho because of my Weak Muscles but they are kinda Improving with my Physical Therapy 😊
@@stephanegoulet509to be fair, the body is quite good at making itself think theyre feeling sensations phantom pain (feeling pain in an area that you lost, say feeling itchy in a toe when your leg was removed. this doesnt count irritation at the region the leg was actually amputated) i cant think of any other examples atm, but phantom pain is a common occurence in amputees if the brain can simulate pain in a place that quite literally doesnt exist, it can definitely adapt to using its heel as a knee you already use your heel to walk a LOT already, so its not like youre using your neck as a knee
No, it's actually a pretty easy process, like learning to walk again except far easier since you're an adult and don't have toddler brain syndrome... They have those beer google things where it completely inverts your vision upside down and they've done experiments with that but you can actually live a perfectly normal life with your vision distorted like that and it only takes a few days at most for you to get completely used to it. A few days in and it feels exactly like your normal vision to the point that when you finally take the glasses off what was your normal vision now feels upside down again. Not entirely sure how long an adjustment process takes for amputees but it's nowhere near as long or as difficult as you think. They even got dogs that learned to walk like humans after losing both their front feet and that handstand thing they do is far harder to learn and balance with so if dogs can do it we can too.

I’m pretty sure it would feel the same as bending your knee since it’s the same muscles
It takes time and rehab, but once the person gets used to it the brain remaps it to be the new knee joint.
