4:37, 5:42 ... I knew one of my newest favorite monsters was bound to be a badass, but this is a relatively legendary display I could never have anticipated.
Never thought I'd get a better first run than Canta on a monster.. I had a cat though so it made it a little easier. Still after the rough start you really brought it together quickly

Also, kudos to you for killing rather than capturing, its a preference thing but most people (myself included) would have just captured the hellspawned thing an been done with it. I think this is one of those fights where the best weapon you can use is charge blade, or even gunlance might be able to do this extremely easy as well. But yeah, even with foresight slash some of those moves have such a long chain that it seems they can knock you out of spirit slash 4.
I just Lanced it with Guard+5, bitch couldn't do shit while I Countered everything he threw at me. Not the flashiest way to kill it, nor the most skillful, but it's effective.
Tough but very fun. I had a good time with hammer. You can get a good stagger combo with uppercuts if you time them righ, plus weakspots and flinch shot.

Anyone notice how he didn't break his head somehow through the entire fight? Same thing happened to me using hammer despite getting at least 4 KO's and aiming for it the whole fight. My guess is it needs a certain element to be broken like some monsters from older games.
This thing is durable as hell, guess that little part during the cutscene where he takes a hit from the normal Odo and doesn't even care really was an omen. Took a full team slamming it in the face to break that damn thing after three or four topples.

you faced it solo that made things worse, then again no one can blame you. Facing MR monsters for the first time, even the ordinary variants from HR which we've already gotten used to fighting get troublesome. The game developers added more traits to their attacks
@CantaPerMe so Just a wee thing I noticed with Iai Sheathe to Slash, if you do Slash almost immediately after sheathing, you tend to have a slightly larger . Havent seen anyone talk about it but thought to let you know since you might be able to pull it off.
Kinda disappointed that they didn't change the turf wars for ebony odo he is supposed to be 1 tier above odo which is basically the tier of bazel and jho ebony odo should be able to absolutely destroy nargacuga who is on the same tier as normal odo, rathalos and stuff like that

If you time it correctly you can i frame and not lose one level of spirit gauge. Although the timing isn't that tight, the sheathing animation takes a while, you'll need to anticipate the monster movements.

Your right, you made it unnecressary difficult for you. I got him in maybe 15, 17 min whit DBs, no Death. He realy hates them. Good thing, I was knowing him from you and Octanes Channels.
@@Branziman I'm sorry for my mistake, the viper tobi longsword is made in the bone tree. To get to Viper Tobi tree, make a bone sword then upgrade to the normal ver. Of Tobi and upgrade until you get to the kadachi Daito 1 after that the viper kadachi tree is next under it. You'll just have to farm for parts of viper tobi after that. And again, excuse me for my mistake. There is a quicker way to get passed all that is just by building the Kadachi Daito 1 in Forge weapons, just have to have all the parts.
christian kuhl lance is probably the easiest weapon to use. Just get shield and guard up and counter guard. Monsters generally can’t do shit to you. Once you get better armor you should try going back to whatever weapon you use.

i like challenge, really. But in my opinion the monsters have too much health. They should have a little bit less HP, even Canta needs 25 minutes for Odo. We know he is a really good player, how long do other people need? What are your thoughts guys?
i ve never played world, i m an old gen guy, but i was concerned about the lack of health of monsters in world compared to previous games. So I'm very happy of this change. I may even consider playing world and iceborne. Maybe.

We're still using crap sets so after we get endgame sets they're gonna be much easier
thats true! Most monster died in 3-5 minutes, even elder dragons. But why is there nothing between?
